When I made my first initial contact with Bill, he says he treats every pool table as if it were his own. That left me a good impression that this guy does not mess around and he is very confident on the kind of work he specializes in. He is very informative and explains every little detail on uninstalling, installing and maintaining your pool table. I bought a used pool table from craigslist and called up Bill in a short notice and scheduled to have the pool table moved the next day. Bill showed up on time and got all his tools ready to disassemble the table for transport and to re-assemble at my house. The table I bought from Craigslist is old, but beautiful. One of the legs was broken, but still playable. I got the used table at a good price so it did not really matter. Bill mentioned that he can repair it. His quality of work is remarkable. He has done an excellent job refelting the table, releveling the table and managed to fix one of the legs on the table. I was so impressed that not only I paid Bill in full, I also tipped him. I have the table over a month now and I see no degradation of the table. The table is holding up pretty well and I see no flaws to this day. If you need a person that you need to move a pool talbe, Bill is the guy you can trust. If you do not know what you are doing, please, please, please, do not attempt to move a pool table on your own. I was looking to buy a used pool table on Craigslist, and quickly found out that it's worth it to get it professionally moved and installed. So I called around to a lot of movers to see what it would cost. I ran across ADS Pool Table Tech, whose moving prices were roughly the same as the others I had called. There were three key differences though. They were friendly and helpful in answering all of my questions, they sell new and used tables, and they are a shining examples of how great Mom & Pop shops can be. I am by no means an expert on billiards. Not even close. My grandfather has had a pool table at his house for a decade, and I play every time I'm there. All I knew about buying a table when I called was that it should have a slate base. Kyrstie and Bill (the owners of this family business) answered the phone right away and were more than happy to answer every question I had, no matter how trivial or silly it sounded. Unlike some of the other places I had called, ADS didn't make me feel bad about not knowing anything. The other problem I had been having was finding a decent, used pool table on Craigslist. Occasionally, there would be a good one, snatched up right away. Mostly, they were either too expensive or heavily damaged. Then, regardless of the cost of the table, I knew I'd have to shell out a few hundred extra to get it moved. Talking to Kyrstie, it turns out that they buy used tables and refurbish them, and they get brand new ones straight from the factory. I ended up getting a new Tiburon table. I called on a Friday, ADS picked it up from the factory on Saturday, and installed it on Sunday. Whether you buy the table new, used, or even from someone else, ADS guarantees their installation for life. When they installed mine, they really put in the time to make sure that the playing surface was perfectly level. If it ever gets off-kilter, they'll come adjust it for you for free. In Feb 07 I was looking to move a pool table I had just purchased from a friends house to mine. I found ADS Pool Table Tech on craigslist and immediately gave Bill a call. These guys were awesome!!!! My boyfriend and I were looking to purchase a pool table and we wanted to see how much it would cost to move. When I gave them a call, I spoke with Bill. He not only gave me a price to move a table that I was looking to buy, but he also went through Craigslist over the phone with me and told me the quality of the tables in the ads and told me what the table was worth. Then last night, we purchased the table, gave Bill a call and he was there in less than 30 minutes to move the table. He did an excellent job! He wrapped everything very well to prevent damage. He tore down the table at the location that we purchased it and moved it to our house. He took his time measuring out the room; making sure we had the proper distances from the wall and that the table was square in the room. He then put the table together. He did a great job on leveling it and actually hit the balls to make sure it was perfect! All-in-all, the move and setup went very quickly. This morning, I received an email thanking me for my business and asked if I had any questions. He also let me know that if I have any issues at all he would come back out to fix them. I have now used Billiard Pros (Kyrstie and Lee) on two different occassions. The first time was to move my table from Orange County to San Diego. The table was also re-felted when they moved the table. The second occassion was when I needed the table moved in order to get a rug placed under the table. Kyrstie will explain every detail with regards to the importance of hiring professionals. There is truly a lot involved when moving a pool table and you want it done right! I had called several movers, and Billiard Pros were the only company that took the time to explain the process. Needless to say the pool table move from OC to SD was painless and professional at a reasonable price. The second time when they placed a rug under the table was also smooth. They moved the table out of the way and then placed it back in place on top of the rug. Again, this is something you want done by professionals. The pool table needed a partial break down and needed to be re-leveled. My floor was not perfectly level and thus it proposed challenges for Bill, but he was patient and would not leave until everything was perfectly level. You can't always please everyone. Recently we were slammed by the seller of a pool table we moved mentioned us telling our customer we would have to re-felt they're pool table after we reassembled it.We did explain to the customer that after replacing the rubber that the rail cloth would also have to be replaced at a cost of 45.00 ( keep in mind the new material cost us 35 dollars so 10 bucks to install it is cheap..) we were not trying to up-sell them.We certainly when moving a pool table will almost always reuse the cloth.. UNLESS THEY want new cloth....As to us arguing.. We all have off days .. couple that with a customer who thinks we are bagging on they're table.. and us being a little behind schedule(we did call her to let her know we were running behind though.)it did take us a little longer to get the table apart then 20 minutes ... Usually it takes 30 to 40 minutes...... and there ya go. As to the people getting a near perfect table...lol The table needed new rubber (super important part of it playing well) We did however wind up getting the table moved and reset up and the customer seemed happy . Sorry we were not there to move your pool table...We were however successful in getting it done for our customer... Used Olhausen purchase and installation done right! Bill had listed an ad for a used1996 Olhausen 8ft (Drake model) on Craigs List. I went to their home (they run their business out of their El Cajon house), and checked out the table. Looked to be in very good shape, Bill explained all about what to look for, and seemed very knowledgable. I decided to purchase the pool table (on a Tuesday), and have it delivered and installed on Thursday. Bill, one worker, and his son brought the table to my place Thursday evening, and proceeded to install the table. He took his time making sure everything was PERFECTLY level with both the table frame, and then with the 3 piece slate bed. He then re-felted the cushions (I chose a red color) and the table, taking his time to make sure everything was done so the table looked and played like new. (He is a perfectionist). Once done with everything (Bill was there about 2 1/2 hours), he tested the table to make sure everything was perfect, His son and other worker cleaned up, and even ran my vacuum around the entire room. We recently purchased a used pool table and contacted Billiard Pros to move it for us. They were able to move it same day as our request, which was awesome. I was initially concerned when they showed up a little late and with a truck that did not appear large enough to move an 8 ft table with 1" slate. However, they began dissassembling immediately and protected each piece very well. When they showed up at our house, they worked non-stop to reassemble the table. They were good about making sure the table was placed in a good spot in our room, and considering how picky I am about this, that was great.
