Meccha Matcha is located in a food court next to other restaurants. The service was quick for as busy as it was this Sunday we went. The food court area isn't very big so naturally is a little noisy but nothing unbearable at all. We ordered the 'limited edition' Dubai Matcha Soft serve & the ube soft serve. The Dubai had the matcha soft serve in the middle with the chocolate and pistachio cream on the outside. The chocolate tasted very cheap and not a good flavor, the matcha flavor wasn't very strong the star of the show in this and the only part we really enjoyed on this was the pistachio flavoring. It was so rich, filled with pistachio bites with great texture. I'd rate this an over all 2 of 5. The star of the show was the ube soft serve beautifully done! I have heard many great things about Meccha Matcha through word of mouth from my friend, and was pleasantly surprised to find a location in Grand Prairie. Needless to say, I had to make a detour to visit. First thing: the cashier was not very helpful when we had questions about menu recommendations, as Meccha Matcha offers many options of matcha beverages, from ceremonial to hojicha and more. He mentioned he hasn't tried their hojicha and couldn't give more information on their yuzu drinks other than using the fruit as a jam when my dad asked, so we were quite puzzled when ordering - but found the interaction silly anyway. However, the barista really came through with the quality drinks, and was lightning swift in her service. The strawberry matcha wasn't too sweet, and we appreciated the fact that it didn't taste like grassy strawberry milk. The iconic sour taste of strawberry was preserved in its syrup, which served to balance the lighter milk and matcha. Our second drink, the honey lavender matcha, was definitely sweeter owing to the honey. Still, the lavender was very aromatic and their syrup even tasted a bit gingery. Topped off with matcha, we thought this was a very harmonious drink where all of the ingredients and flavors worked really well together. It was just a bit too sweet for me, though. Ultimately, we thought both drinks could've used more matcha, but this was not a problem with Meccha Matcha at all. There is a choice to select different levels of matcha, with matcha intensity ranging from level 1 to 3. We just happened to stay with level 1, no adjustments to try the drinks as they were for the first time. Otherwise, we recommend getting level 2, perhaps level 3 for the people who can handle caffeine and/or adore matcha. Overall, Meccha Matcha was very solid. My only advice would be to do your own research before visiting, so you can get a sense of the range of flavors and options they offer and select the exact drink you want! read more

I've been ordering the wrong matcha and ube desserts all my life. This matcha/ube soft serve might be the best frozen treat I've ever tasted! I've tried matcha ice cream, ube milk tea, and plenty other mix-and-match combinations of the sort, but none of them really compare. For $5.50 and tax, I consider that quite a steal. And to think that I almost ordered a boring old drink instead... This shop has a banner titled "top sellers" which only advertises their bestselling drinks but not their other desserts. They should consider adding their soft serve on that banner as well. I visited on a Saturday night at 9pm (an hour before closing). As a Houstonian, I'm used to our Chinatown being absolutely packed at this time but both parking and seating were ample here. Who would have thought that one of my favorite desserts ever would come from an unassuming food court? read more

Meccha Matcha is located in Asia Time Squares Food Court in Grand Prairie, serving up great matcha ice cream, drinks, and other sweet favorites! This fine establishment has plenty of parking, so there is no need to worry about finding parking unless you come here during a big event. They are located inside the food court where there are many restaurants to choose from and they have plenty of seats and chairs to sit at in a nice clean well lit environment. I came through on a weekday and ordered the green matcha and ube swirl soft serve ice cream. I ended up getting it in a bowl instead of a cone, and the staff did a great job swirling it in the bowl. The ice cream was perfectly ice cold and was very flavorful and creamy. The flavor had a nice sweet touch to it but wasn't too overly sweet. The ube paired well with the matcha that was slightly bitter with notes of sweetness and umami. Overall, it was a perfect treat, and I enjoyed the ice cream. I'm looking forward to coming back and maybe trying one of the many matcha drinks they have on the menu. The prices and customer service were fair and average. read more

I ordered two tanghulu to go and should've asked for a cup of ice water to dip them in. I had to enjoy these sweet treats before all the sugar melted from the triple-digit heat. The staff member who helped me was super sweet and friendly. She made the tanghulu as I enjoyed my soft serve. I selected the tanghulu I wanted and decided on grape and strawberry. One of the very few places that offer hojicha milk tea. I absolutely love hojicha and had one in Seattle and have been on the hunt here. So here I got the Hojicha latte with matcha ice cream. Found this place via an article on five Japanese places to visit in the DFW area. It is within the Asia Times Square mall in Grand Prairie. So worth the trip for matcha and ube soft serve. The first time I got a strawberry matcha and it was at best a 3/10 so I was hoping to give it another shot and this time the service didn't fit my standards either, i ordered A strawberry matcha again and they took over a hour to get it out.Not only that I had went up there 10 min prior of it being a hour of me waiting, to ask if they were possibly still working on it.They said yes.But after it hitting a hour I went up there and got a refund. They have lavender and chai matcha mix lattes which are ~amazing~ combinations and I cant think of anywhere else they have similar beverages. My friend and I came here at 10:30am yesterday just for the matcha but they didn't open until 11 so we literally waited 30 minutes just for them to open so we could get machas They also have an option to add additional matcha if u super like matcha and also offer samples of their ice cream & soft serve! They also have a cute arcade upstairs which you can visit and play sweet gashapon games. Definitely try out some of the other awesome places in this same food court too! I'm so happy to have found great matcha ice cream! Being from HI, you can find good matcha almost anywhere... so this is GREAT in my books. The establishment is always so clean and they have really good customer service. They don't tell you about their points system which is a little weird, BUT they do have it printed on the receipt, so I was able to get in. The soft serve is so smooth and not overly sweet. You can ACTUALLY taste the matcha which is just... so satisfying. Heads-up, if you are sensitive to caffeine you may be up well into the next day lol. read more

SOOOOO happy that Meccha Matcha has finally opened a location on this side of town!!! For all the matcha and dessert lovers out there, this is a dream comes true lol I've been in love with MM since they first opened the Plano location. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), it's a bit of a drive for me, and usually I don't make it past the Asian shopping centers in Carrollton to come to the Plano MM more often. This one is located in the brand new food court next door to Hong Kong market. Due to COVID-19, currently there's no seating being offered. There are plenty of chairs and tables, but they're all stacked up. You just have to order the goodies to go and eat in the car, or stand by one of the tables to consume it. Most of their items are matcha related. Hence, the name "Meccha Matcha". All of their matcha soft serves are full of matcha flavor and not overly sweet at all. This actually goes for all of their desserts. I actually haven't tried anything with the other flavors since their matcha products are too darn good. The matcha Level 3 is definitely the way to go if you want extra strong matcha flavor. Currently they're still within the soft opening period. Most of the items are available, but not all. The staff is very friendly and helpful if you have any questions. Just cut them some slacks since they're still training and learning. read more

A great addition to the food court! Many options to choose from and they have rotating daily flavors. The matcha ice cream level 3 is the perfect amount of matcha. Very thick and creamy. The shaved ice needs some improvement. As you can see in the picture, there were a lot of parts of the ice that were still white (especially underneath). Definitely needed a lot more matcha sauce and condensed milk. We ended up asking for extra, and they kindly provided it! The matcha-ube soft serve was the best part.
