The large majority of my reviews are all coffee shops, and I have to say this might be one of the most unique ones I have come across. I was in Texas for a conference, found this spot on Yelp, and a smile hit my face when I realized a former gas station was now transformed into a coffee shop. Such a cool and unique idea. If you look at my pictures, it's obvious what it used to be, but the creativity to turn it into what it is now is awesome. We had a group of six guys walk in and all of us got our drinks within 10 minutes. Both Barista's behind the front counter were friendly and answered all of our questions being that we were from out of town and visiting for the first time. I was excited to see a few gluten and dairy free options when it came to the food, but now let's about the coffee. The only reason I gave this four stars instead of five is not because of anything they did, but just the quality of the oat milk I prefer. That said, it would not be a place. I would avoid coming back to as I thought the overall experience was a good one. Such a unique coffee spot. Good job guys! read more

Found Gahwena on tik tok while looking for a place to stop by prior to Bible study. I went close to closing and there were only a handful of other people inside. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating but I can imagine that the parking lot gets full pretty quickly during their peak times. Very interesting concept with the outside presenting as a gas station. I was between the sugar cookie and strawberry matcha and at the suggestion of the cashier, I went with the strawberry. Because it had condensed milk, I did expect it to be a little sweeter. I did, however, really enjoy the flavor of the matcha itself. I also ordered the gluten free coffee cake but I wasn't that big of a fan. The girls behind the counter were super sweet and made for an even better experience. read more

Look for the converted gas station with the outdoor seating area and go inside for some good coffee and snacks. The baked goods are also very good if you're hungry. This is such a cute spot! The ambiance is very hip between the location in a gas station to the modern chill decor. There's a variety of board games and a tremendous amount of seating. Service was ok, it was probably the only not WOW factor about this place. They're nice not friendly, not welcoming just nice. As for the food, it looked delicious but didn't get to try it. However, the Turkish coffee was delicious! As was the latte. Definitely, delicious coffee. read more

First of all, this coffee shop has THE cutest theme ever! It's gas station themed and right beside a car inspection location. They sell Turkish + Arabian coffee and pastries! I tried the Spiced Brown Sugar Latte. I was warned that it wasn't too sweet and they were right. The baristas were super nice though and gave me a few extra pumps of sugar lol. The coffee itself was strong though and I liked it. As far as pricing goes... I don't think I've ever spent $9 without tip on a 16oz latte. But, I'm always down for an experience so it was worth it! Id passed by this place a few times and thought it was super cute. When I decided to go in and thought this is a place o could hang out. The outside patio has ample seating and a patio seat that is IG ready. I came in to order, the place smells amazing and feels so peaceful. I had a vanilla latte. Probably one of the best I've had. Definitely better than Starbucks!. The only thing I'd say needs work is the staff. No one seems friendly. No one acknowledges you when you walk in and the listening skills leave lots to be desired. None of this is isolated. I've been in a few times now (also try the Turkish delight) and all of the staff seem to have the same unconcerned not quite paying attention type energy.I had to repeat my order several times.... I was so excited to find this cute coffee shop in the area. They had a ton of unique drinks and baked items. I love matcha so i ordered the Roxy cozy matcha, which was delicious. I was worried about the rose flavor but it did not overpower, it was the perfect combo and blended well with the matcha. My mom ordered the pink mocha which was a delicious raspberry with the mocha. We also tried the vegan pop tart which tasted home made and fresh, a great treat with our drinks. Everyone there was so nice when asking for suggestions and offered to heat up the pop tart. The coffee is great here. My husband always gets a dirty chai tea latte. I've had a few drinks here and there but my favorite is the Dulce from the Arabian line. So good! Gahwena is a great local coffee shop in downtown Duncanville. It used to be a gas station and it still has the gas station sign but has made it coffee themed. There is plenty of seating inside from tables and couches. There is plenty of variety of drinks and the coffee is really delicious. The staff was super friendly and really helpful. We got the bagel with cream cheese and honey and we got plenty of cream cheese and the bagel was really delicious and fresh. I've driven past this coffee shop dozens of times and never realized it was there. It's an ingenious adaptive re-use of an old gas station. Some part of my lizard brain subconsciously clocked the general design, the big sign out front with large numbers and thought, "Oh, I don't need a fill up right now. Too bad there isn't a coffee shop nearby." Using the gas price sign to advertise coffee is pretty clever. Well, I'm glad I finally did a search for local coffee and decided to pop in. The former gas pump area has been turned into a large outdoor patio, gussied up with some bamboo fencing hiding the old pumps and big natural looking Adirondack chairs. Inside there's a cozy corner with a couch and bookshelf. Lots of recycled wood and parquet chess sets transform what used to be the convenience store section of the old station. The former beer coolers are put to good use displaying light snacks like fruit cups and ploughman's sandwiches. The service was super friendly. They have a variety of lattes - I was tempted by the pink latte, a raspberry flavored drink. Or a pumpkin latte? I chose a chocolate mint coffee drink and it was sublime. read more

Coffee is overpriced, $9 for a cup a coffee is insane. Not only the bigger brands like Starbucks or Dunkin charge you that much and you'll think the coffee was great here but you'll think otherwise. I really liked this spot. Super easy to find and parking is all around it. We sat inside and were able to have a fairly private conversarion without everyone hearing and could also hear each other. Loads of tables outside, too. Excellent latte and the staff couldn't be kinder. They have a good variety of pastries and boxed options. This is the cutest coffee shop I have been to in a really long time. It was an old gas station and it still looks like one. The staff were super nice. I order a bagel with cream cheese and hot honey and it was absolutely delicious. I also had an iced caramel macchiato and it was good. There was an inspection place that's connected to it so a lot of the people there were waiting on their cars to be done but everyone was extremely nice. You had a few people talking, working and just relaxing there. It was enough seating. I sat outside and did some studying/reading. They have WiFi. They also give away free coffee grounds for your garden I thought was was neat. I will definitely be back!! read more

Love the coffee here! With that being said take this how you will with my review. Been coming here for 3 years. I have never had a complaint about the coffee, my complaint is the staff and the prices. 3 years ago it was $5ish then it was $7.50, so why was my 12oz iced Arabian Latte $9.45 today? Not sure when the prices went up so dramatically and to be honest my husband usually brings me coffee or I wait in the car but that is RIDICULOUS. I don't care how good your coffee is. The dude behind the counter was super passive aggressive when I ordered my drink because I guess there is different options and I said i didn't know because I usually just order it as an Arabian latte but then he asked his coworker what the "original" one was (vanilla) but the guy was being an jerk about the whole thing. When our drinks were ready I asked for a sleeve and he sarcastically said well we didn't put one on because it iced, I said I know thats why asked for one (none of your business but it helps with the condensation from the ice melting) and then low key talked shit to his coworker under his breath right in front of me.He then tried to make small talk with me and act friendly which still came out sarcastic.Wasn't just this guy I have had many rude employees here but between the price increase and this guy, I'm good. read more
