They prepare me for the worse case scenario but my recovery has been great. First day very little pain and I could have just used regular Tylenol. 2nd day no pain just a little sore. This was a better experience than the last time I had an extraction from an oral surgeon in Huntington Beach a few years ago. It took a week for the pain to subside. Which was a more expensive place. My only complaint was sometimes it was hard for me to get a hold of the office for the appointment. But once your on the line it was all smooth.

Dr. Phan encouraged me to do full sedation and I believe there was a bone graphic as part of the procedure. My cost after insurance was going to be over $1600. After meeting Dr. Pledger, he mentioned that bone graphs are not recommended or necessary for standard wisdom tooth extractions, and local anesthetic is a perfectly fine option. My cost after insurance was under $300. I was very happy to do local anesthetic as it did not hurt and I was able to drive myself home right after the 20 or 30 minute operation. The car savings were significant and I'm glad Dr. Pledger talked me through the options so I could make a more informed decision versus being pushed into a specific (and more costly) treatment with my first consultation.

Two of my filling's got dark spots on them within the first year and to redo them I have to come when "I'll be fixing my other teeth". Once I went into office with one treatment plan doctor (Asian looking younger one) during the treatment changed the plan and fixed the tooth that wasn't even in a chart and told me about it only after he was done! And made me sign the consent as I was leaving the office. I can't describe how violated I felt for a while. Doctor Papworth apologized for his colleague but it didn't make me feel better. I gave them a chance and came for cleaning, asked for insurance pre- approval for next treatment (because somehow my pretty good ppo insurance almost never covers it as promised). Waited.
