Ordered a bunch of food but by far my favorite was the breakfast sandwiches, especially the Buff, which consists of Georgia Red Hot, Hash Brown, Double Egg, Cheese on a Portuguese Roll. Simple ambiance and hospitable service.

Stopped by this place on a whim because Bill is my father-in-law's name and we'd never seen a restaurant named Bill's. It has fast service with a pretty large menu. This place is clearly popular among folks in Monroe as it got very busy at lunchtime. The food is simple and tasty. They have a good mix of burgers, Greek food and healthy options. This place is no frills. You order at the counter, get your food when it is ready and then sit down at a table or booth to eat.

Stopped in to meet a few friends. Bill's has a cool retro vibe. The place was incredibly clean and bright, and with little knick knacks/collectibles, memorabilia and photos throughout. The menu has so many options, including daily specials. You can order anything on the menu antime of the day! Soups are made in house. Staff were very friendly, courteous and seemed to care a lot about this place and all customers. Thanks Nico! I very much enjoyed my baja fish sandwich for lunch and took home a delicious roast beef sandwich with gravy on a toasted hard roll for later. We brought another friend an egg and bacon sandwich on a hard roll and she raved about it! I will most definitely return for gyro which I am told is magically delicious. Great, casual, friendly, super clean spot to eat in or take out. Plently of parking. Check it out.

Well, here we go! Bill's Drive In, is a nice little spot, Menu board was outdated and vintage, giving an old school vibe. But everything was clean. Ordered the breakfast special sandwich which included; Georgia Hot, two fried eggs, hash brown & topped with American cheese, all these items were sandwiched between a toasted Porteguese Roll. Great sandwich. The Georgia Hot (which is usually very spicy) was split and deep fried and finished on the grill which tamed some of the heat! On top of that was two fried eggs, over well, break the yolk, layered with two slices of American Cheese! To finish the sandwich was the toasted hash brown. The Portuguese Roll held the sandwich together (it really didn't need to be toasted; personal opinion). Taking a bite of the sandwich, you get a spicy bite of the GH, then eggs and creamy melted cheese; mellowing the spicy & smoky notes of the sausage and then the crunchy bite of the hash brown completed between the soft roll of goodness. Yummy. I will rate this sandwich with a 4.50 out of 5 stars. It's a well thought out sandwich. The price of the sandwich was $9.68, which was on the verge of the pricy side of goodness. It's a huge, meaty & cheesy sandwich which you cannot eat more than half at a time, wait awhile, then polish off the other half later! It's really was worth the trip. Ok now for the Morning Glory muffin which the cashier (whom was friendly, pleasant and accommodating) suggested that I have it toasted with butter! It was on the small side for $3.00 but it tasted better than it looked with the slightly burnt edges! The mixture of carrots, nuts and little chunks of nastiness was worth it (in my humble opinion). This is not an every day breakfast choice, but every now and then you deserve to go all the way to sit down, and enjoy a meal of tasty goodness. You owe you that!!! Thank you for being kind to me! It's not a given... Chef G Til next time

Driven by this place for a few years and always wanted to try. Well. On a hungover Sunday morning craving a greasy bacon Hegg n a cheese this was just about the only option open. And they did not disappoint! We came in and ordered the special. Which completely hit the spot! My tea order wasn't quite right but the lovely baggies came by to check on diners and gladly remade it. Family friendly, don't forget to check out the specials!

UPDATE: About time to do an update..I have been here several times since my first review and have new pics. So I like this place. But I like em better for breakfast then lunch or dinner. I was not wild about their fried clams and do not think I'd get them again. These are clam STRIPS..not whole belly clams. I do however love their breakfasts. I always have. Their bacon is so crispy and good. And my dad's a fan! He loves their egg sandwich. I am not much of an egg eater but it does look good. Food's out fast and it seems clean and is quiet. But the best thing is and has been their value. Bill's is so affordable and that is such a nice thing. They give good size portions too so you get lots of food for your buck! I would absolutely recommend them, especially their breakfasts. Hit or miss but absolutely cannot be beat when it comes to price. Bill's is a place to go when you want something affordable and casual. I have been here when the food was really good and then again when it wasn't. You order at the counter. Last time I was here they still had Breakfast all day which was cool. It's not a bad little place at all. I prefer their breakfasts to lunch and dinner. Sometimes I have found the fried food a bit greasy but breakfasts are fine and so affordable. Excellent value I must say. And one could do worse. They've been around forever and for something quick and convenient they fit the "Bill".

Hit or miss. One time it's very good. Another not as tasty & leaves condiments that you order is left off.

We received our food and drinks quickly. We ordered two iced strawberry matcha lattes. Unfortunately, they were pretty terrible and borderline undrinkable. I don't doubt that their coffee is good, but this was disappointing. The color was not great, it had no actual matcha flavor, and not nearly sweetened enough (even with the strawberry syrup). It pretty much tasted like chalky water with strawberry seeds. I ordered the turkey bacon, egg, Gouda cheese with spinach on a multigrain roll. I enjoyed it, and both the turkey and eggs were cooked well. I feel like there wasn't enough cheese, but maybe that's just me. However, the sandwich was kind of dry and I had to ask for ketchup so I could just have some moisture. My partner ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich. The chicken didn't have much flavor, but the sauce was good.

My friend and I both had burgers, which were delicious -- but what were REALLY awesome were the french fries. Slim, perfectly cooked and salted -- hoo mama. Other reviewers have mentioned that the menu has more of an Asian influence -- this continues to be true, and in fact, when we return I'd like to try some of those more specifically Asian or Asian-inspired dishes. One thing I perceived, though, was that the pickles on the burger were brined in something that tasted almost seafood-y -- I'm allergic so I don't think it was actual fish sauce or something, but something that gave it a slight fishy taste, like when you have seaweed. Anyway, that was the only thing I didn't care for -- but it didn't bother me enough to not want to try again! We loved the ambience and the location was also super convenient with free parking in the back. I'll update my review after my next visit!

3.5 stars We were on…read moreour way home from a road trip and were looking for a great lunch spot on our route, when we came across Foundry Kitchen and Tavern, which was located in the quaint town of Sandy Hook. As we drove through the village, we saw the restaurant on our left-hand side. It was housed in a historical brick building with a sprawling deck overlooking the Pootatuk River. It was a beautifully sunny day, so I immediately suggested that we dine outside. Unfortunately for us, the part of the balcony that was covered and offering live acoustic music was completely full. That meant that we were seated on the far edge of the patio with no shield from the strong sun or any ability to hear the tunes. In addition to the unideal seating, the food took a very long time to arrive, so I just sat there roasting. The server offered to move us inside, but we stuck it out for the view. I had ordered the Fattoush Salad with Chicken. The Mediterranean bowl included mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, kalamata olives, and fried naan croutons, though I had omitted the red onion that was also supposed to be in the blend. I had asked for the red wine vinaigrette on the side and wound up not using much of it. The salad was fresh and tasty, but the chicken had an odd preparation. It was not grilled (like I would have hoped for a healthy salad topper) and not deep-fried, but was roasted or pan-fried or something, which I had not expected. It had a crispy skin, but remained reasonably tender at least. I also grabbed a few of my partner's fries, which were excellent. After we wrapped up the meal, I stopped inside to cool off and use the facilities, which consisted of a singular, unisex bathroom in the corner of the rustic dining room. There was a bit of a line, and they could certainly have benefitted from additional restrooms. I really did like the antique atmosphere at Foundry Kitchen and Tavern, but I think that the heat just made the experience a bit challenging for me. I would definitely consider returning, but would be more diligent in my seating and food selections.

The dining room was empty as we came early, and it looked beautiful. The entire restaurant, to the eye, is absolutely a vibe. There was one server on shift at the time and she was very nice and welcoming. We had very high hopes for the meal to come. We were fairly disappointed. It was during a brunch service. Initially ordered the calamari as an appetizer. Yes, calamari as a brunch app is kind of strange however since it was available I ordered it. I typically order this wherever I go, because I execution-wise, it's not the easiest thing to prepare correctly. This app was tiny, as in the serving size. Additionally the calamari itself was super small as well. No nice meaty rings. No crispy tentacles. Just a greasy mess. The dish purports the dipping sauce to be that of a fra diavolo, it was not. It was more like a marinara with chunky bits of aromatics and perhaps a bit of crushed red pepper. It was also very pricey given everything. Even if it were perfect, still on the pricey side. At the same time my daughter ordered French toast. For $18. We are talking $6 a slice of brioche. Wild business, that. As mains, my wife ordered the avocado toast. Which she actually seemed to enjoy, although the bread was soggy, and the other items on the plate severely lacking. I ordered the "lobster" cake eggs Benedict. If this was lobster, then I'm the Mother Theresa. It was, by my palate overly processed canned crab meat. At best, overly processed lobster meat, but I highly doubt that given the taste, color, and texture. The CRAB cake itself was meh, the accompanying potato hash was okay, and the hollandaise sauce was passable if not good. We ordered drinks as well. My lemon drop martinis were pretty good. My wife was dissatisfied with her margarita, then ordered a dirty martini that was okay. We walked out with a tab of nearly $200. To say it was worth the money would be absurd. I hate to be so blatantly honest with this review, but this experience (food and drink-wise) was not one I would recommend.
