My HD wouldn't load up, it went into a loop (a Microsoft StopCode error that causes it to reboot…read moreconstantly). Basically I installed software that was interfering with normal boot up. I wanted a new hard drive anyway, so I removed the drive and put it into a casing that allowed me to use it as an external HD. BitLocker requested a recovery key in order to do this and I just couldn't seem to do it. I just need the files available on "Desktop, Downloads, and My Pictures" less than 500Mb of data. The Bitlocker Code (recovery key) was included in the shipment that I sent to see if these guys could do it for me. ... with the recovery key, it is a simple enough process but for some reason, my laptop just would't do it (timed out at 75% before finishing). Secure Data Services wanted to charge me $2300 to do this!!! I was SHOCKED!!! Now if you know tech, this is way too much to unlock a drive with the recovery code that I've already supplied. Google the steps for yourself. "Unlock a Drive with BitLocker Recovery Key" or "fix MS StopCode error" on YouTube. It's NOT rocket science, I just thought a couple hundred would save me the time and trouble. BIG MISTAKE! The charge 28.95 to get your HDD sent back, what a waste of time for basically what could be called "extortion" at worst and a complete "ripoff" at best. I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU USE THEIR SERVICES.

They were able to recover 100% of our data and worked extra fast to complete it. Although it is a big investment to recover data, it was a valuable investment for us. We plan to keep Secure Data on file, should we need data recovery in the future.

I knew the owners personally by their first name (Hi Tom) before they became a national superstore chain. I knew them when the internet was a baby, you didn't need more than 64 kilobytes for a computer, and a 5.25" floppy disk could hold more than enough for your program. They were sponsors of our Apple Computer User Group (COACH) in the day. They are good people, dependable and trustworthy, and their 30-day return policy cannot be beat. My first computer, an Apple II+ and monitor, was from them in 1983. I now have their own brand, a PowerSpec Windows 11 Computer. For over 45 years, they have been my computer store!

There were plenty of technicians to keep the wait time down. Owen, who helped me, explained things in terms I could easily understand. They kept my computer to fully determine what was wrong and give me an estimate by text messages. I was able to decide what I wanted done and returned to pick it back up. I decided it was time for a new computer, and Jacob listened to what I needed and had a wonderful and affordable replacement. It was nice because I felt like I was given straight-up answers to my many questions and wasn't pressured at any point. I would definitely recommend Micro Center if you need help with computer issues or a replacement.

I ended up talking to some guy named Joe, who is the weekend PC Help emergency guy. Joe actually comes to your house for like $35 and then charges like $100 and hour (I'm pretty sure that is what he said...) while he is fixing the problem. I was hoping this would only take a few minutes after reading Jimmie L's review for the place but Joe informed me that a similar job that he had done that morning took about three hours. Sorry Joe, but I think I'll wait til the regular store hours and hopefully write a glowing update soon with similar tales of the dirt-cheap 10 minute spy-wear fix job.

We called around looking for a local (Howard County) computer company and spoke with CCF in Columbia. It took almost a week to get a diagnosis (they promised 1 day), another week to get the part (which was expedited) AND they wouldn't return our calls. It broke again (same part) within 24 hours. We took the computer to another repair shop in Clarksville, they cleaned the inside, replaced the power supply while I was there - for $120 AND they stand behind their repair for 12 months. CCF is willing to return the part and refund us any money they get refunded to them - that's it! They didn't even provide an invoice - but they offered to show us the EBay receipt!
