Told my car on March 3rd due to a fire under the engine faulty engine of a 2015 Kia soul plus Bass I did not call Bill's towing the sheriff's department of that area called them as a referral to tow my car because I think they're more convenient anyway. I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding the substandard tow services provided by Bill's Towing and Auto Repair. My recent experience with Bill's Towing and Auto Repair and the subsequent handling of my vehicle has been highly unsatisfactory and raises serious ethical concerns. I feel compelled to bring these issues to the public attention in the hope that they will be addressed promptly and appropriately. During a recent incident, my family and I required roadside assistance, and upon contacting Bill's Towing, a tow truck was dispatched to assist me and my family at 11:00pm. Unfortunately, the conduct of the driver assigned to the task was highly unprofessional and left much to be desired in terms of trustworthiness. The driver was not truthful in where my vehicle would be taken for repairs. Bill's Towing instead of taking my vehicle to the local Toyota dealership 14 miles away took the vehicle to the next county to their storage facilities which was 25 miles farther away from the Toyota dealership. Furthermore, I have discovered several irregularities in the subsequent charges and fees imposed on me, which appear to be unreasonable and bordering on deceptive over charging practices. Specifically, the following issues have arisen: 1. Untrustworthy Drivers: The assigned tow truck driver displayed behavior that was concerning and untrustworthy. Their actions regarding not truthfully advising my family that the vehicle would incur storage charges due to their not willing to deliver to the dealer raised doubts about the integrity and professionalism of Bill's Towing and Auto Repair company. 2. $811.00 in unreasonable Fees: I have been charged exorbitant fees for services such as storage, roadside cleaning, administrative tasks, towing, and other undisclosed charges. These fees appear to be inflated and unjustified, as they do not align with the industry standards or the nature of the services provided. This was for a tow which was suppose to go to the 12 miles to the local Toyota dealer. 3. Holding Vehicle Hostage: To my dismay, it has come to my attention that my vehicle was being held hostage until Bill's Towing and Auto Repair could bill my insurance company for the tow fees. This practice is highly unethical and unacceptable, as it creates an unnecessary delay and places an undue burden on me as the vehicle owner to incur storage fees at $65.00 per day. 4. In closing, Bill's Towing picked up my vehicle and refused to deliver it to the Toyota dealership for repair. They towed and started leveraging unreasonable fees causing my insurance company to have to call another tow company to retrieve the vehicle from Bill's Towing. Don't fall for the fake self-rated reviews. This absolutely fraudulent company charged a bobtail they towed for less than three miles $18K. The vehicle had front-end damage and an oil leak but was upright and was towed by one wrecker and one guy in a couple of hours. Yet they charged 18K. This company is in cahoots with the police and charged $150 storage per day but took 8 days to generate their towing bill! Utterly unacceptable. read more

I cannot state how great that I feel about this business everyone that I interacted with went well beyond the extra mile to help me. I had car problems and not only were they handled quickly and efficiently but every employee was exceedingly friendly and know2ledgeable. I am a 77 year old person from out of state and they could have taken advantage of me very easily, but instead they helped in every way possible from finding phone numbers to helping me take care of my problems. Let me just state that if you ever have the misfortune to have auto problems, the best thing that could happen to help you take care of your problem would be for that Bill's tow truck to appear, because you will be dealing with people who genuinely care about you and your problem. read more

I needed a jump on a very cold day after the most recent snowstorm. All towing companies were very busy. When I called I was told an hour, maybe less. It was 2 hours before they arrived but when he did arrive, the young man was quick, polite and efficient. I was able to prepay via a text message sent, making that easy as well. read more

January 2023 - they tried to charge me $450 to pull my car out of the snow. I was able to negotiate down to $225. You shouldn't have to 'negotiate' with a towing company. It should be flat fee and fair. read more

This is not a reputable mechanic, in fact they are everything that people fear about mechanics. I paid $841 for a tow and alternator when stuck while camping. We are not local to the area. This was in July 2018. Now it is January 2019 and I have had to replace the alternator again! I was told that the previous alternator was a re-manufactured alternator from O'Reilly. My new alternator is a new Ford alternator and the cost was only $600. Called to see if they would do the right thing and offer any money back and was told only if I towed the car back to them. This is not an honest or reputable mechanic. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

I had my car's starter break down in my company parking ramp. Bill's Towing and Auto Repair came quickly and were extremely helpful. I had a good experience with Bill's. During this polar vortex we had I needed a jump. My vehicle was parked in a way that another vehicle could not have gotten it's front end close enough for jumper cables to reach. I waited over 6 hours for another tow company before contacting Bill's through roadside assistance. Bill's got to me in 1hr 15mins, gave the battery a jump with a portable pack, and I was on my way. My insurance covered it, but the price quoted when I called on my own was $145. I don't know how the price compares to other places, but after waiting so long for the other company I was just relieved and happy when Bill's showed up so fast. read more

Do Not Use them. I had my car towed into Prairie Du sac from a car accident. I then was going to the hospital after they dropped off my car to a local body shop. The owner Jason told the driver to turn around to pick up another car that needed a tow. I was 8 minutes away to accomplish that. He then took my car back to the Hwy 12/19 park and ride. Unloaded my car again, and left me there. They said they would come back when they could. All they want us your $$$$$$$$$. Call someone else. They don't care about you just $$$$$. Bill's Towing charged my brother over $600 when they towed his Jeep under 3 miles after a crash. Over $500 of that was for the tow, the rest was for storing the vehicle for a couple days, which isn't unreasonable by itself. At work we often use Schmidt's Towing for crashes, and I haven't seen them charge over $250 in similar instances. Read the other reviews, I'm not alone in pointing this BS out. read more
