    Mom and Pop atmosphere

When traveling we always seek out local, Mom and Pop Breakfast spots! Billy's did not disappoint. Excellent service, the best cornbread we've had (sweet and moist) and Lori's homefries we tasty. We are definitely on carb overload! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for good food, large portions and low cost!

    delightful hash breakfast.

The best hash, eggs, bacon, and coffee in Hornell (and Alfred!) I only had three breakfast opportunities during my visit to Alfred and Billy Schu's was for sure on the list. Nowhere else have I ever seen such hash scrambles, crispy greasy messes of peppers and onions and potatoes and sausage and salsa and hot sauce. Mmmmm. Brings me back to my college days. And the portions are freakin' HUGE!

Meh, breakfast food. Good service, typical hometown diner feel. Fine, if you just don't feel like cooking or spending a lot of money.

Parking is sparse, street parking was convenient on a Sunday though. We stopped for lunch - they had a small menu compared to what was listed online. We settled on some burgers, and the shrimp sandwich. Everything was very good, well cooked burgers, with toppings and crispy fries. Sodas were refreshing and our waitress was friendly. Nice to have indoor or outdoor option. Would return for dinner, which looked like it had a larger menu!

My French onion soup was not warm and the melted cheese was solidified. We tried to move forward except for our blonde server girl- obviously not wanting to be there and bordering on rude ( even though we were her only customers at the time). Example- my friend asked for a side plate to help cut up the large salad piece- delivered after 10 minutes wait...banged on the tabletop. I didn't dare mention my soup was cold! That killed any ambiance- only 3 tables filled but the wait staff wanted to set up outside rather than be bothered with us. Our first visit of the year... probably our last!

The staff was super friendly and helpful and attentive. There are definitely a lot of locals in there to grab lunch. But a fair amount of tourist that we're passing by as well. Their menu has what you'd expect from a classic diner, prices are cheap, and service is quick! We got the Country Style Eggs and Patty Melt. Both lacked basic seasonings like salt & pepper. If I was rating off the food alone, I'd give it a 3/5. The home fries in the Country Style Eggs could've been crispier and adding hot sauce definitely saved this a bit. The biscuit we got with it was homemade and so delicious. It was warm, buttery, and satisfying. The Patty Melt was a bit dry and desperately needed a sauce. I used ketchup and asked for pickles which helped. The rye bread was surprisingly not dry and grilled nicely with butter. It was definitely a heavy meal but we needed it after a long drive. It's not the kind of place where you'll have an amazing meal but it'll do the job at a super affordable price.

This is a roast beef place. Flip to the back page and you want to try their roast beef entrees. The meat melts in your mouth. I recommend pairing this with their red skinned mash potatoes. I recommend a medium or medium rare to really appreciate the quality of this roast. We also ordered their fish tacos to change variety. get the Haddock for better moisture- mahi was the other option but I find mahi to be sometimes too fishy and dry unless paired with a more "Caribbean" vibe. Haddock holds a fish fry better in the taco. Unfortunately their slaw was not my fav. too sweet. It was like someone added an extra scoop of honey/sugar. I am definitely trying a roast beef sandwich or their ribs next time. Atmosphere was also great. Had that old school old pub feel but the exterior looked modern. Staff were friendly enough- our waitress was on their brisker end but nothing to where it affected our experience. Pricing was also reasonable for the quality of food. it won't break your wallet but probably couldn't eat there daily.

I'll take that one step further and let you know that I lived in Houston TX for 5 years and my friend lived in SC for 7 years, Beef Haus has the best ribs we've ever had in OUR LIVES! Such a cute place! So clean! So welcoming! Amazing Friendly owner, bartenders, and waitresses every single time. Outdoor seating in the summer. Beautiful private room to reserve. Great menu, meats, beer selection, wine selection, cocktails, and desserts. I found them a year ago and I've been back 5 times (I live 92 minutes away and drive there just for them). This place is 100 times better than the shell of what beef and barrel is currently and 20 times better than beef eaters. You need to do yourself a favor and experience Beef Haus before they sell and retire in the next few years!
