Back Deck

The best spot for that romantic dinner if you're visiting Hammondsport NY. We were pleasantly surprised because from the outside it doesn't match the beautiful interior. There's many different inside & outside sections you can choose to sit at and the staff is very helpful. The delicious food came out quick and everything was so great. My lobster bisque was wonderfully creamy and used the bread from the salad to soak it all up. The entree I chose, Jammin Burger, was exactly how I like it cooked and the jam was a perfect blend of sweet & spice. My fiancé's pink vodka dish might be the best Italian dish we've ever had. We finished the meal with a few pictures from the back deck and gazed the sunset. - Perfect Birthday Date Night

Delicious food! Tasty and searing really well. Lobster bisque never go wrong. Salmon pasta and fish tacos.

Made reservations - 2 bands playing today. Strong recommendation to do so if coming on a weekend. We had not been here in 2-3 years as the food had not been great prior. This time, however, food was great - prices are normal for the area, maybe slightly inflated for being on the lake but not noticeably so. Service was fairly transactional. Steak salad was good at $19. Nice busy place on the lake - reservation recommended esp if you want to sit outside in the summer...

Nicole did a wonderful job welcoming us to dinner and providing amazing service throughout our meal. We were seated on the outdoor patio and had an amazing view of the sunset as we dined. Our drinks were refreshing, the food was served piping hot. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie we took home for dessert was one of the best ones we tried around Keuka Lake. I enjoyed the chunks of Reese's peanut butter cups throughout the mousse filling! This place came highly recommended from several local business as the spot to grab local fare and we were not disappointed. We hope to return for live music soon!

Do y'all see the view in my photos? This place is right on the water so you can see the beautiful lake in all its sunset glory. We asked to be seated outside and besides the mosquitos and heat, the view did not disappoint. I asked my server what was their sweetest red wine and she recommended the Hazlitt Red and I legit wanted to get a bottle. It was brought to me chilled and tasted so delightful. I'm such a sucker for sweet wine. My boyfriend got a spiked lemonade and clearly liked it enough to get 2. We got the spinach dip which was really delicious and I got a pasta while he got fish and fries. Both were reasonably priced and the ambiance of the seating outside just made the dinner all the better. I highly recommend to eat it if you're ever in the area. It's only 15-20 minutes from Beaver Dams and Watkins Glen so we're glad we made the drive.

We had a great medium rare prime rib and Finger Lakes Beer Watermelon brew. Sitting on the deck at sunset and music playing on the deck below us Great service and great company. What else can you ask for. Yum.

This place right off Keuka Lake has been around since 1894. They offer dining inside or out. Our party of three had an inside table. The staff is friendly and attentive and it was busy with tourists like us as well as locals. Our dinners came with a nice sized salad. Our main courses were quite substantial and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We ordered the Finger Lakes Penne (chicken, sun dried tomatoes, broccoli and shrimp), Lake Sautéed Shrimp and Scallops Scampi and a Honey Glazed Salmon. We couldn't find anything to complain about the food and we left fully satisfied. Definitely a place to go to if you're in the area.

Great place to enjoy a meal outside, overlooking the beautiful lake. We came on a Friday night for dinner and it was very enjoyable. Weather was perfect, service was great, and I had the broiled haddock special with a side of homemade macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious, and I especially enjoyed the salad they served before our meals.

Prime rib

Menu has a good variety of options. Came on a Friday and prime rib was available. One of the best prime ribs I've had in a while.

This is the best place to eat for a view of Keuka Lake at dinner. The service was great, food was very good, and a beautiful sunset view.

The service has always been excellent. The ambience is casual and comfortable. Everyone I've ever brought there feels the same way. Chef Brian creates incredibly tasty and imaginative dishes. I was low key having a rough time after working so late but this incredible meal turned things around: the strawberry salad was so fresh and well-balanced and I simply couldn't NOT order something from their meat case in the front, which offers local cuts. I got the tenderloin medium rare with broccolini and mashed potatoes. They did something TRULY special here. Goat cheeseinthemash. Or something. Like a blue cheese that was a goat cheese? Idk but it was truly genius. I haven't stopped thinking about it. My waitress was also tending the bar and did an amazing job, I felt so well looked after and the bar patrons stayed entertained. I only saw her visiting the various tables so props for handling that many people solo! I kinda can't wait to come back up here for work if it means I get to visit this place when I mentioned I planned to go to sackett's table for dinner, my customer immediately knew I was in for a great time. When you have such a good rep with locals and visitors, it's bc you're doing something right.

I recently tried Green Front Restaurant for the first time, and it was an absolute rollercoaster of…read morean experience. The kitchen clearly knows what it's doing, but the front-of-house needs some serious help. We began with the fried pickle chips, which were amazing--served piping hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The kitchen is remarkably quick, too; almost immediately after our appetizers arrived, the staff was already at our table taking main course orders. For my entree, I ordered the chicken tenders and fries basket. The tenders were perfectly golden and incredibly crispy, served with a generous mountain of fresh crinkle-cut fries. I'd rate the tenders a solid 3.5/5--my only minor critique is that they could be a bit more generous with the dipping sauce for a portion that size. My dad also ordered a beer, which was poured beautifully with a nice head. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience completely dragged the meal down with some glaring cleanliness and professionalism issues. I found a long hair wrapped right around the lemon wedge in my iced tea. To make matters worse, I watched the staff member pouring drinks rub her mouth right at the drink station before handling other beverages. Meanwhile, the lady behind the counter was completely disengaged, literally just scrolling on her phone instead of focusing on the dining room. The overall neglect was obvious if you looked around. Hanging directly above our dining table was a vintage wall thermometer covered in a heavy, flaking buildup of rust and grime--definitely not what you want hanging over your food. Even the bathroom was neglected, with trash and used paper towels left on the floor. If you are strictly judging by the kitchen's output, the food tastes fantastic and comes out incredibly fast. However, management desperately needs to invest in a deep clean and have a serious huddle with the staff regarding basic front-of-house hygiene.

18th Amendment was a fantastic choice for a memorable dinner while visiting the area with family…read more Our group included three senior citizens, a baby, and three adults, and we were looking for a legitimate dining experience - it is vacation, after all! I had walked past 18th Amendment earlier in the week and thought it looked worth checking out - just peering in the window, it had a great atmosphere and inviting vibe. When I requested an online reservation I received a prompt and friendly callback - and when we arrived the next night, they had a highchair set up and waiting for us. The cocktails were excellent. I don't mind paying almost city prices when drinks are thoughtfully crafted, balanced, and unique - these absolutely delivered. Our server was wonderful. We asked whether the chef could prepare something for the baby and she quickly returned with several options. Since it was his first birthday, we let him splurge and ordered a filet with risotto. The kitchen sent it out right away, which helped avoid an imminent pre-bedtime meltdown. Dad tax applied--the baby's dinner was delicious! The bartender even sent over a small mocktail for him to try - a thoughtful touch. Every entrée at the table was phenomenal and everyone cleaned their plates. The ingredients were fresh, the portions were generous, and the quality was evident throughout the meal. Great food paired with outstanding service made it easy to justify the price, which again, was not extraordinarily high, all things considered. I highly recommend 18th Amendment if you're looking for a dining experience that's a step above the ordinary.

Pros: -The cocktails were lovely, very inventive, and delicious. Loved that they used fresh local strawberries! -The appetizers were also creative and tasty. We got the chef eggs and the cremini mushrooms. However for the price the apps were tiny -My entree (the Pasture - souvlaki with Israeli couscous and cucumber salad) was delicious, well seasoned and balanced Cons: -Service was shockingly slow. We had a 7:30 reservation and didn't get our entrees until 9pm. For almost every element we ordered (bread service, apps, entrees) we had to follow up with the waitress to see what the ETA would be. She apologized several times, but a manager got defensive and said that there was only one chef. It was a Saturday night and there were only 2 other small tables in the place, and maybe 3 people at the bar, so no clear reason why everything was so slow. At these prices, especially in Penn Yan, you would expect better service. -Most of our party ordered the Bucher. I understand it can be tricky to plate 5 burgers at once, but for this price, you'd expect the burgers to not come out soggy on the bottom. With the fried egg, gravy, and melted cheese the burgers only had one texture (mushy) and a one-note, overly rich flavor. Really needs a fresh or acidic element to add textural contrast and cut through the fat. The fries lacked seasoning, we needed to add more salt. -There was a surprise $15 credit card charge, which was not posted on their website or menus. We only saw it when it appeared on the final bill. While credit card surcharges aren't unheard of, in NY state they need to be posted ahead of time. Legality aside, hitting customers with a surprise charge at an upscale place like this is honestly tacky.
