I ordered the Loaded Spud topped with butter, sour cream, cheese, green onion, BBQ sauce, and chopped brisket. Everything tasted fresh and delicious -- the brisket was tender and flavorful. I also tried all three sauces on the side, and each one was really good. The only thing I wish is that the potato had been a little warmer, but overall it was a great first visit. I always enjoy visiting Billy Sims BBQ when I get the opportunity to. As I've mentioned before I'm not a huge BBQ fanatic but, find myself making exception when I am here. I love the flavors of their meats. I usually get the Smoked Bologna with another meat ... those being either the Pulled Pork or German Sausage. All three of these meats choices are delicious. The Beans and Macaroni & Cheese are a real highlight for sides. I could actually come hete to just eat the Mac & Cheese and be fulfilled. The employees are ALWAYS a real delight to encounter, even when showing up 10 minutes to close. They know I drive up from Texas, so they don't mind at all letting me stay past close to finish the meal. This is definitely a place to try if you haven't. read more

I've been to Billy Sims in the past and I really don't expect much. How's is it that I'm forced to come here to get bbq when I'm in the 3rd largest city in Oklahoma? Wrapping up the meat in cellophane is not a way to keep meat fresh tasting. The barbecue was so bad this time around... not dry, just cooked completely DONE where it had no taste and a tough texture. If I were the owner or the manager, I might question why my own brisket doesn't have a smoke line on it... at all. I get that you can't always have the best barbecue but at least try to have decent barbecue. I love this place. The Staff are SO FRIENDLY every time I go. I usually get the Bevo Plate which is a plate of chopped brisket and two sides. I love their billy beans they are to die for and the corn is pretty good too. Those are the only sides I have tried. 1st time here and also the 1st time in Lawton Oklahoma. The BBQ is very good here. This restaurant is owned by Billy Sims who played for Oklahoma University, won the Heisman Trophy and Then went on to play in the NFL. The restaurant is super cool. There are pictures of Billy Sims playing football along with team photos etc.. It's a fun place to look around. The food was really good. It's a fast past BBQ place so you order at the counter and they prepare it for you. Their portion sizes are reasonable. You get to choose from 6-7! Different types of meats. Plus you can add your own type of BBQ sauce to your meat. One of their sandwiches is called the Heisman. I thought that was cool since Billy had won the Heisman. Since moving to the Midwest, I've tried lots of different bbq from Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma! This has been the best I've tried in Lawton, Oklahoma so far. I ordered the "Wishbone" plate, which allows you to pick 4 different meats with your choice of two sides. I choose the brisket, ribs, chicken and turkey w/ the bbq beans & green beans. The bbq beans were yummy, and I really liked them. The green beans were average boiled type, so not much to say about them. Now to get to what we all go to BBQ for--the MEAT! a) The ribs & brisket were AWESOME, and I'd give those a 5 star!! I felt it didn't even needed sauce to eat!! The flavor was delicious!! I'll order this part again & again! b) The turkey was pretty good, still moist w/ good flavor, even though it was the end piece, but definitely better with the bbq sauce. c) The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the chicken. It was dry and didn't really have anything special to talk about. Since it was dry, I HAD to eat it with bbq sauce. Sauce: I got the spicy type and it wasn't spicy, but it's good sauce. Just went here for lunch and omg....being from Maryland coming to the Midwest I don't know why I thought I would get good BBQ.even if it is a chain. I had the brisket sandwich, hubby had the ribs and mom had the pulled pork sandwich. Everything was so blandly DRY! Had to douse everything in the packaged bbq sauce they gave. The baked potato salad had a weird smell, only thing that anyone enjoyed was the baked beans and that was my mother . Definitely a waste of money. This is my favorite place for good old-fashioned BBQ in Lawton. I got the pulled pork here with two sides of corn on the cob and potato salad, and a piece of toast, for about $10. The BBQ sauce is what makes everything delicious with the meat here. The pulled pork was incredibly tender and it's a really good deal for the amount of food you get. Had the loaded baked potato with pulled pork, it was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone! The ONLY downside is the lack of kids menu items, my one year old only had a fruit cup available unless we gave her pieces from our meals. I'm sure its a chain restaurant but it seemed like fresh BBQ meat to me, had the three meat plate with brisket (excellent), ribs (pretty good), and pulled pork (not so good). Staff was very friendly and personal and the restaurant was nice and clean. By far the brisket was the best and worth the price alone, ribs were cooked right, fell right off the bone and had a great crust. The pulled pork which is usually my favorite BBQ was not good at all, I barely touched it. Oh and I forgot, the chili it came with was pretty dang good too!
