Service was great! Recommend sitting on 2nd floor to get the great ocean views. We went there as the grouper sandwich was highly recommended. It was good but very expensive and didn't come with a side and definitely not top 5 as recommendation noted. The wedge salad was really good and it was HUGE! Enough for 2 people. Lots of outdoor seating. Free parking which is nice and walking distance to Madeira Beach.

SOLID 5 STARS My Wing Man Gary (USAF Pilot, retired) and I had a taste for scallops, so off to Dockside Dave's we went. I had my 8 large scallops ($24.95) prepared with my fav, lemon pepper, and Gary went with his fav, blackened. We also went with Dockside Onion Rings appetizer ($9.95). Topped it off with a great Bloody Mary. Dockside Dave's is a local favorite with great prices and great food. Emilie provided spot on service as well. Can't go wrong with any item on the menu. Trust me!

Probably the best grouper on the Pinellas County FL gulf-beaches! Dockside Dave's in Madeira Beach is finally open after the hurricanes! (May 2026) It's better than ever! The onion rings were crispy, huge and flavorful! The fried grouper was truly half a pound. Delicious and crispy in their beer batter! They still have the pink soup! And the tomato basil was very flavorful and homemade. They have covered seating out front, on the side, upstairs, too! Also indoor seating of course. It's great to see such excellent quality food again from this classic beach restaurant :-)

We sat at bar as there was a wait for a table. James greeted us and got us ice cold beer to start. We ordered the Gigantic onion rings. They were so good. We shared the Grouper sandwich as it was HUGH!. Got it blackened Nice atmosphere. Open to outside downstairs and an upstairs bar and outdoor seating as well. We'll we got the grouper sandwich and it warm at best. We got it blackened, but flavor was lacking. We thought we were getting fries, but we were served waffled fries which were just barely warm. The slaw was warm at best. We went here way before the hurricane and the grouper was not that great then either. After hearing all the rave reviews about their grouper sandwich, not sure we'll be back. James the bartender was attentive as the bar was busy. The atmosphere was ok, just it was a little pricy, but I guess its for tourists mostly.

Love Love Love this place - so glad they opened back up after the big storm! Grouper Nuggets were so good! Fish was moist and the outside was crispy. Perfecto! Dave's Citrus Shrimp sooooooo DELICIOUS!!! Get them!!! Onion Rings... something changed..? The batter didn't seem quite the same as last time we were there. Still good, but not as "airy" and light as they were before. The staff was the same friendly, maybe even more upbeat, as before. Always happy to be there! The renovation is amazing - the new upstairs seating and the added bar is GREAT!! Love what they did. Got me some nice merch to show off that they are back in business!! Would I go back? YES... totally worth the trek from California !

Best fish sandwich I've ever had and great onion rings too! We were only in the area for about 4 days and we went back for it! Staff was nice and the vibe was laid back.

Took a day trip and had lunch at DD's. The outside seating allows to enjoy a nice day with an ocean breeze to go along with some good food. The hand made onion rings are a meal by themselves which is what may happen next time with a beer. The fried oysters meal came with waffle fries sprinkled with old bay and they spoke to me! The shrimp po' boy had some really good Gulf shrimp that was good by themselves which. Our server Amanda was always there and made sure you were never in need.

Our family came here on the last night of our vacation and we were blown away with the hospitality we received. The hostess accommodated us and found us great seating outside for our party of 6. The vibes are chill and beachy, and perfect for a family. The food was super delicious, and the portion sizes were great for the prices we paid. Affordable seafood. I ordered the clam strip basket and I loved it. Sailor was our server and she was absolutely incredible! Her energy was so great and she was so bubbly. I would credit most of our positive experience tonight to her amazing energy and service.

They just recently renovated the building. It's nice and clean with outside seating and inside as well. Service is friendly and helpful. We ordered the large grouper sandwich blackened. It was huge and plenty for us to split. The largest onion rings I have ever seen. We got a small order. They were cooked perfectly and crispy. Best rings ever. We are always happy at this restaurant. Good drinks also.

First time back since the hurricane disaster. Its completely remodeled with 2 stories and full bars. Yes I said bars. 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. Ordered the grouper sandwhich batter fried and its better than it was before. Didnt think this was possible but it was! And the onion rings are magnificent. The batter is unbelievable. Love love love this place. And now with better views on the second story

I had previously (pre hurricane) gone and wrote a Great review. Fast forward after hurricane to celebrate my husbands birthday and support a local place, what a horrible difference! Stood inside to be acknowledged when walked in and not kidding waited over 20 minutes, only because we asked a waiter. Took forever for food to arrive and not all at once, 5-15 minutes between plates arriving and on top my husband whom was celebrating his birthday was the Last one to receive his meal. Complete disappointment between the time and the food being horrible. Yes, they've only been open a month but at that rate I don't know. Saturday night was not full house. We were told they were trying to work everything out. Today Sunday, Everyone is sick to their stomach! Good Luck

So nice we had to visit TWICE…read more The coconut crusted mahi mahi was a highlight. It was soft and fully coated with obviously real coconut - not sugared or overly sweet. It was a huge fillet, which makes up for having some smaller sides. I'll let you in on a little secret, I only eat fish when it's locally caught and fresh and this was worth it 100%. The house salad with Pima colada dressing has me imagining how to make this dressing at home. Sweet and creamy and easily coating every leaf. The bread at the start of the meal for a disproportionate amount of attention from my family. It was served hot, with garlic and maybe other seasonings across the top, and generous sides of butter. Our initial server, Kyle, kept the bread flowing for us until the meal came and it was fantastic. We gave the potato skins a try, and they were delicious! My family ironically isn't huge conch / shelled fish eaters so the rest of the appetizers didn't suit us much and this was a lil Midwest taste while on vacation. We returned to try the jalapeño crusted grouper and were again very satisfied. Totally different than the coconut mahi, it's savory and well flavored but leaves you far from begging for water. The fish is thick and flaky and the sauce was similar to a bang bang sauce to pair it all together. The favorite sides were loaded baked potato and garlic smashed potatoes! I'd say it's a must visit during your trip to Madeira !

They had a fresh catch of grouper that day, so we decided to try the grouper nuggets. They're market price, but absolutely worth it. Even our friend preferred them over his fried fish. The batter was light, crispy, and delicious. Our kids ordered the bacon cheese fries and loved them. Just a heads-up: they use a nacho cheese sauce rather than shredded cheese, which some people may prefer to know ahead of time. Our friend from Massachusetts ordered the lobster sub (also market price) and said it was worth every penny. My husband and I split the grouper nuggets and the Philly cheesesteak. The bread is brought in from up north, and our server's recommendation did not disappoint. The sandwich was rich, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the onion rings. They use a beer batter, which wasn't our favorite, but that's more of a personal preference than a criticism. Overall, we'd definitely return if we're in the area again. The only downside was parking--$29.99 for two hours is pretty brutal. Thankfully, the food and atmosphere helped make up for it.

Snappers was packed at 6:30pm on a Tuesday night. However, as it was late July, we were able to get a table outside right away. There are fans to help with the heat, and it's well ventilated so there was a nice breeze. Our server was prompt and friendly. The menu was seafood with an Asian flair. We started with the crab stuffed portobello (probably the weakest part of the meal) and delicious coconut shrimp. After that, our entrees came with salads, which were also great (tortilla chips and a zesty dressing made it more fun than your usual house salad, but it didn't feel too decadent). I got the snapper, which was served over coconut rice and with a delicious curry sauce and mango chutney. The curry reminded me more of thinner Japanese curry versus Indian or Thai, which I loved. The snapper itself was a nicely-sized piece and was cooked/seasoned perfectly with a hint of spice. The coconut sticky rice was so addictive!! The sweetness of the mango chutney just made each bite a wonderful flavor explosion. I would 100% recommend this dish. My husband got the coconut cashew crusted mahi, which was also excellent (and another huge portion of fish). It seems like you can't go wrong here with a fish dish!

Broke N Bored - Name Checks Out…read more We visited Broke N Bored with a group of 6 adults and 3 kids, and after nearly 2 hours waiting for our food, I can confirm the "Bored" part of the name is extremely accurate. I spent most of the meal wondering if the "Broke" part referred to the stove. When we arrived, there was only one other family in the restaurant, so naturally we expected a reasonable wait. Instead, we had enough time to watch the tides change, discuss our retirement plans, and nearly raise the children to adulthood before the entrees arrived. To start things off, we were encouraged to sit outside in the blazing Florida sun. With three little kids, that wasn't happening. The staff did move us inside, but seemed less than thrilled about it. Considering how long we ended up waiting, sitting outside would've turned us into SpongeBob from his out of water movie. Appetizers: * The PB&J Brussels sprouts were fantastic. Unique, flavorful, and easily the best thing we ordered. * The seared tuna was very good. * The calamari tasted good, but apparently calamari prices must be through the roof because there were more fried banana peppers than actual squid. Service: The waitresses were friendly, but drink refills and table check-ins could have been much better. During a two-hour dining experience, hydration becomes a survival issue. Entrees: * The mahi was excellent. * The "pineapple slaw" had about as much pineapple flavor as a bag of plain cabbage. Just call it slaw and save everyone's expectations. * The crab cakes were mediocre and thinner than Slender Man. * The Caesar chicken wrap was okay, but I had to conduct an archaeological dig through the lettuce to locate the chicken. * Fries were fine. * The chicken caprese was decent if you got a bite with everything together, but the chicken itself was chewy and lacking flavor. * Mashed potatoes were dry. * Pulled pork was okay, but nothing memorable. * The Black & Blue burger was decent. By the time our entrees arrived, nobody had the patience left for dessert, so we skipped it. One final note: a restaurant this size having only two high chairs is a bold strategy for a family-friendly beach area. Overall, there were a few genuinely good menu items, especially the Brussel sprouts and mahi, and the staff was pleasant. But waiting almost two hours for food in a restaurant that wasn't busy overshadows nearly everything else. The food was mostly decent. The experience? Long enough to make the restaurant's name feel less like branding and more like a warning.

To our pleasant surprise, we were seated right away even though the restaurant was very busy! They initially placed us in a booth and we kindly asked if there was a table near the window since they had a great view of the water. The hostess checked and found us a table next to the window. Great start so far. Our server was pleasant, though service was a bit slow. But again, the restaurant was very busy so we understood and were just happy to enjoy a meal there. It was our last night on the beach and we were very hungry, so we decided to order a bunch of items: Espresso martini Bread basket Lobster bisque Smokin' fresh tuna spread Sushi Red grouper (catch of the day), Indian shores style with shareable side of au gratin potatoes Red grouper (catch of the day), wood fire grilled with mashed potatoes Shareable side of charred asparagus Our server spaced them out and brought out the drink, the bread, the soup, and tuna spread first. The bread was supposed to be sourdough, but when the basket came out I noticed it didn't look or taste like sourdough so we checked with the server and he informed us that they ran out of sourdough so they gave us basically a French baguette. This was surprising and quite disappointing because we should have been notified of the change right away. Also concerning for allergies, but fortunately, we didn't have any. Then came the sushi and finally the entrees. Almost everything was delicious. One of the grouper entrees was a bit overcooked, but we really enjoyed the sides. The espresso martini was smooth and strong. Even though I always make room for dessert, we decided to skip because by the time we finished our entrees, we had already been there for two hours. Again, it's across from the beach so tourists & locals are filling it fast. The table we had was excellent. It had a view of the gulf. Our server, Jerry, was personable, knowledgeable, and friendly. He helped us navigate the menu. The food and the wait time is what fell short for us. We were there for an over two hours. We ordered the Calamari appetizer. It wasn't as spicy as it was described on the menu. When we ordered our main dishes & Al a carte side items, the service slowed. Jerry visited our table a few times to note that he was checking the kitchen because our food was taking forever. We never even mentioned this to him. He noticed and kept checking. I appreciated that. For mains:I ordered a NY strip rare which was market price ($41) I found this out when the check came out. This was the longest and skinniest looking strip I've ever seen. The ends were completely overcooked. The middle was cooked properly so only part of my steak was edible. My friend ordered chicken Alfredo. This was the strangest dish. There wasn't even sliced grilled chicken on top. I would expect at least that from a high quality restaurant. Instead, there were chunks of chicken in it and some random asparagus. Out of the kindness of his heart, Jerry comped our appetizer and offered us a free dessert. It was a nice touch and we tipped him well. We asked for our dessert to be boxed because we were tired after the longest dinner I've ever had to wait for. This place came highly recommended and has great ratings, but I will not be returning. I hope you have a better experience than we did. Jerry was the star of the show here. Fantastic employee. The food? Not so much.

You order at the counter when you walk in and you can sit down anywhere. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is fairly clean and very organized and the condiments are always stocked. They have a self serve water and soda station. The lobster is on the pricier side. It used to not be $30 however it is very worth it. I love to get the warm lobster roll and it comes with a lobster butter. I like to get their coconut shrimp since it's hand battered on site and also their onion rings are also hand battered made to order. They have a really good smoky dipping mayo sauce that comes with the onion rings or fries. It is a very good sauce. I would say it's the saltier version of cane sauce and a small gear version as well. It's absolutely phenomenal. You will never find a better coconut shrimp or a better onion rings than here this place really does it very well better than any place I've ever had homemade. The lobster roll is very very fresh. I would definitely get it again. It is always always fresh. You'll never get a bad lobster roll here not like at the other places. Their clam chowder soup is extra thick and that is the best type of clam chowder soup ever I loved just dip my onion rings in there and the coconut shrimp in there and the lobster roll in there. It is absolutely delicious. The best you'll get in the area.

Great place near the beach and a short drive from Clearwater beach area…read more This place is small about 5 tables inside and a couple outside. The food is amazing. Coconut Shrimp - skip the fries and slaw and get the cup of chowder. The chowder is packed full of calms and is super delish. Ask for regular cocktail sauce this one comes with chili sweet sauce which is good but also over powering. The shrimp are HUGE you get about 6-7 of them. Garlic shrimp roll - flavor of goodness. Comes with fries we substituted for onion rings. Fried shrimp basket - nicely fried with slaw and fries. The staff were all super nice.
