I came here with a larger group and I'm glad it was suggested to make reservations. I got the special for the night which was a blackened prime rib. The prime rib was good and cooked well. The sides were just okay, nothing special. I did see the lobster tail being ordered by others and it looked delicious. There wasn't anything amazing or terrible during my visit. It was okay.

Came here for dinner the Friday night after Thanksgiving. We were a party of six. Not small but not super large either. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. That's about where anything good ends. Both the food and the service were terrible. Service was extremely slow and the food came out cold. Must have been sitting around a while for it to be picked up by the server. The soups that were ordered were cold and didn't taste good. I had the 8oz prime rib as my main course. Though it looks good in the picture it was very tough. There was a large line grizzle that ran through it that made it impossible to cut or even chew. The outer rim that is usually the tender and tasty part was dry and tasteless. I didn't even know you could make prime rib that poorly. Would not give them another try.

We asked our friend for a recommendation and Bonnie nailed it. The owner came to say hi before leaving for the day and the food was spot on. The picture on the wall says this is the oldest restaurant in Ormond Beach. I had the fillet and my wife had the special (beef stroganoff). Both meals were Amazing and I will be back. Call for a reservation, this Place turned away 10-20 people in the hour we were here.

My husband's birthday celebration fillet was wonderful my beef stroganoff and the chicken Francese we're not so good stroganoff beef was dry and not a creamy sauce like I really enjoy . Swordfish good but bland , worst of all they don't wear a mask servers bartenders greeters anyone! Server Luann was friendly and efficient

First time coming here, no idea why it took so long to eat here. We loved it! Great service from making the Rez with the hostess to getting the best table since it was our first time. Great atmosphere and food. You can go on the "sports" side with live music (loud and fun) or the table cloth dining side that is quieter but you can still hear the music. Wanted to share pictures from our dinner since they don't have many on here. I recommend ordering your martini "blue" as it comes with blue cheese stuffed olives :) yum!

It was a Thursday evening and I was driving from my hotel out to the beach heading to another restaurant when I spotted this place out of the corner of my eye. It's a cute looking pub/restaurant. It reminds me a bit of something you might see in Europe or Russia. It's actually situated in a strip center and there's no real parking for the place. You have to either park in the street past it, park in front of it (there's only three spots) or park in the public parking before it. There are pictures of this establishment, way back in the day when the road out to the beach was a dirt road and there was plenty of parking for it in front of the establishment then. Now, with the wide "modern road", Parking is a little challenging. Upon entering this place, I was delighted to see that every table had a tablecloth, including those in the bar area, which is a nice touch. In about 30 seconds time I actually had two servers and the bartender come over and try to assist me with getting a table! I was seated in the bar area just inside the door, but it turned out to be pretty cool because it gave me a view to the entertainer that was playing that night, Frank. He played 60s and 70s music on an acoustical guitar. He was quite entertaining and very pleasant. My server's name was Denise. For some reason she reminded me of Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. She had a pleasant smile and was very attentive. I had a Crown & Coke to start, which was made quite well, but when I decided to get another one. I asked how much they cost, and I got sticker shock. It was $8.50! I was pretty floored. Considering this was just a small pub/restaurant in Ormond Beach, not Miami or Tampa this price should be adjusted down a couple of dollars. I switched over to a draft, which was 20 ounces and reasonably priced at $5.50. They carried Sam Adams Summer ale when I was there in June. I was served warm focaccia cheese bread with whipped butter, wonderful. It was wrapped in a napkin to keep it warm, another bonus. My place setting even had a salad fork which was also unexpected in this type of place. I found my salad to be a delightful mix of spinach leaves and Romaine. Also included were red onion slices, tasty croutons and a couple of sliced in half, cherry tomatoes. The blue cheese dressing was served and a small metal ramekin on the side. It was Roquefort style and nice and chunky. Unfortunately I would later discover at 3 o'clock in the morning that the spinach must not have been washed real well. I will call the restaurant later when they open and let them know. Dinner was served pretty quickly. I barely had time to check out the Wi-Fi situation, which was limited connectivity at best. I had ordered the grouper supreme, which is listed as Grouper, Crabmeat, Shrimp and Scallops with Fresh Herbs & White Wine in Supreme Sauce. I was told of the grouper was 7 to 8 ounces, but it was really more like 4 to 5. However, with the two large scallops each cut in half, two medium-size shrimp, crabmeat and cream sauce, I filled up rather quickly. The portion of broccoli was small on the plate as well, but it ended up being the perfect size. All the seafood was fresh with no discernible fishy smell. The Cream sauce was sweet and just thick enough. My entrée ran $31. This is slightly over what I would have expected to pay but still within reason. For dessert I chose the bread pudding initially it was then that I'd discovered that the restaurant closes at 9 PM and it was already 9:30 PM. They had already shut the ovens off. I had lost track of time but in no way did I feel rushed by anyone. I ended up ordering the crème brûlée. All desserts are six dollars. The crème brûlée was served and a small ramekin with two dollops of whipped cream and a small slice of strawberries accompanying it on the plate. My ramekin was not filled all the way to the top but given the time I did not complain. Overall, It was tasty but it was not worth six dollars. In summary, I feel I would definitely return to this location again to check out other foods or perhaps one of the other 19 different ways they serve up grouper! If I lived local I would definitely bring a date here as the other side (restaurant) seemed quite romantic. It is also large enough for a couple of large parties as well. If you're looking for a place with great service and a nice atmosphere with fresh seafood you'll want to check this place out, just make sure you ask about pricing.

Not much to say other than fantastic....Grouper can be prepared 20 different ways. I had a la billy style, the the others had it supreme style. Absolutely great with very attentive service, ambience and live music. Cant go wrong! read more

Stopped in just for a beer and was happy to find they had Yuengling on tap! (Something we don't have in Oklahoma). Decided to have some clam chowder -- yum!! Then to finish it off we opted for the bread pudding. OMG!!!!! So freakin delicious!!! Will definitely go back for dinner next time we're in town! read more

We had an exceptional meal. My NY strip steak with gorgonzola was magnificent! The Creme Brulee was perfect. Susan our server was prompt, professional and knew the menu well. The decor was dated, it felt like a 70's flashback, but other than that a great time and food. read more

Going by the name, we expected to enjoy a nice meal. What we got was exceptional. There were 4 of us dining together. I got the broiled diver scallops and the others got the swordfish (caught that day). Everyone raved about their meal. Our waitress Debbie, was friendly and efficient. The live music was nice also. The next time we are in the area we will return to dine again. read more

Very disappointed...a once upon a time favorite restaurant but will not return. We had the prime rib and we ordered it medium rare and it was delivered well done! The prime rib was so overlooked it had no juice at all on the plate with no flavor at all. We could not eat the prime rib. On top of that my bake potato had a bad spot in the center and had to be returned. How can a kitchen split a bake potato with a terrible rotten place in the center and still send it to the table? Just no words to describe our experience. Food and service.... beyond ....lacking. Sad In all ways. Not good...how pointed is that description? read more

We had a great meal and time. Both bartenders were very friendly Brent & Tara. Food was awesome. Drinks were like you would make at home very good. We went on two different nights. Both were equally as good. We go there every couple of years. can't wait to go back.Sitting at the bar is a lot of fun and good conversations. We visited this restaurant a few years ago and it was the highlight of our trip to Ormond Beach. So we returned to Billy's on this trip. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. What great customer service!! Every restaurant should model this place. The food here is excellent in every way. If you like grouper it is prepared any way you might like it, a hearty serving, with salad, vegetable, and potato included. Don't miss the clam chowder it is better than most!! And we split the prime rib steak one evening because it's such a large portion. Planning to go back again and hope we have room for the bread pudding which is awesome. Love this place, their food, and their staff! read more

Have been going to Billy's while vacationing in Daytona since 2003. Always had great meals. The place is old (1922 vintage), but in great repair and very clean. Waitresses always check back often and the meals and drinks are very good. Notice very little turnover of waitress staff over the years, so they must be good and enjoy working there. Place is always busy-very few empty tables ever! read more

My wife and I felt that it was way overpriced for what you got. The mixed vegetables were terrible and my wife's rice was extremely bland. On the plus side my Grouper and her Crab Cake were good. Sorry but we have taken Bill's off our list of places to eat in the Daytona Beach Area. read more

We've eaten at Billy's numerous times over the last year... one meal has been better than the next! Dinner starts with a homemade Focaccia and generous serving of fresh whipped butter. The house dressing elevates the uninspired salad. The lump Crab cakes are our favorite entree with no filler and a light crumb coating. Beef stroganoff is also out of this world! Veggies are simple but fresh, complimenting but not competing with the entree. Perfect! Spuds & rice are uninspired. Oysters on the half shell always fresh and plump. YUM! Our only disappointment has been the crème brûlée. Tiny portion served with a dollop of cool whip. (why why why cool whip?? The fantastic whipped butter served with the focaccia was such a nice touch... The absence of garnish would be better than fake whipped cream!) The caramel was truely burned, not browned and the custard was over baked. Dining room is really chilly! Wear sleeves! read more

Entree costs tab high. Service by staff good. Two ordered prime rib that came full of fat. Threw away one third. Both diners found it stringy and not the value of prime rib for that price. Potatoes overcooked and sauteed veggies table spoon serving size. Come on folks, julienne cut does not mean tablespoon portions. Red potatoes overcooked and under portioned. Scallops came in the winner. Petite steak rare and I wouldn't write home about it. Overrated about prime rib. Very loud in the dining areas. read more

The food was ok, wasn't bad at all. But if you are really really hungry, this is not a place for you! The portion is small and pricey. But the atmosphere is nice, service was good. Just make sure you bring your magnify glasses with you! read more

Consistent, classic, old-school food. I love that I can still get béarnaise sauce on my steak. It's nice to know that some places still care about making things fresh. The bread, soup, dressings, still made from scratch. Gotta love it. The gnocchi is not unfortunately. I wish they would add duck to the regular menu. I used to go there all the time but I go very rarely now. They refuse to update the menu so it gets boring. read more

Yummy crab imperial! The table next to me had a mussel appetizer that looked awesome. They had 20 ways to have grouper. We ordered it black and blue which was blackened with blue cheese melted on top. It was awesome. We love this place and will be back next time we are in Ormond. read more

Ordered appetizers and salad, hubby ordered the same. Salads were fresh. Frogs legs appetizer was ok, nothing special and pricy. Shrimp cocktail was a little overcooked and bland cocktail sauce, also very pricy. First visit here with the new owners and won't go back. Service was average. Bill was $75 before tip. read more

We have been to Billy's 5 times since it reopened with new owners. Billy's adjusted along the way in a very positive direction. Our most recent dining experience was outstanding. This was hands-down the best meal I've had in the 16 months I've lived in Florida. The menu is pricy, as others have mentioned, but the service, quality, and atmosphere were all right on target. Four dinners: Filet minion, NY steak, special halibut, and fish and chips. Everyone was delighted with their meals. The presentation was good, not overly pretentious, but elegant. Portions were perfect (no need for take home bag, but not still hungry, either). House wine was good quality and matched the food well. Both steaks were "custom" orders, and both were perfect (one - Pittsburg style, the other with crab and Gorgonzola top). Service was friendly and sincere. Billy's seems poised to claim their place as the discriminating diner's favorite place for special occasions. read more

Billys is back and better than ever! The new owners Doug and Lil Rand have done a superb job returning Billys to it's perch atop the Ormond Beach food scene. Fantastic service and simply the best food in the area. If you gave up on Billys as a result of the disastrous management under the prior owner you owe it to yourself to give them another try. read more

Very busy restaurant with a lot of locals I assume . I recommend that you make a reservation before you walk in. They have a guy playing music which is too loud if you want to enjoy your meal and converse with your friends and family. The hostess was not on top of her game as she was totally confused. She was not sure if she had a booth available or not it took her a while to realize that I'm staring at an empty booth. The server Sue was nice and very knowledgeable . Did I mention that the music was loud !!!? So forget about enjoying a peaceful meal or a romantic dinner on a Friday night !I this place is as loud as the ocean deck if not louder as it is way smaller. The service is great and the food is even better. The prime rib and crab cakes are excellent. The food is definitely the best part and I will be back again. Please tone the music down as it causes inconvenience to some of your clients. I would have scored it 5 stars if it wasn't for the loud music. BTW it is also pricey but food quality makes up for it ! read more

Really dissatisfied will portion size and ridiculous entrée cost. Ordered the grouper and vegetables the grouper was rubber 3oz and literally 3 tiny broccoli pieces. We all thought it was a prank! The waiter was oblivious and he has zero concept of customer service. Our group will not revisit this establishment. read more

DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT FROM THIS RESTAURANT, unless you don't care at all about money, or you want to starve to death. I ordered takeout twice from Billys Tap Room My Wife loved the Diver Scallops Which were great both times. If you do order take out you must open all the bags and see exactly what you have, to find the two or three items missing. For $46 I just got 8 scallops (my wife likes) for a very small portion of broccolli (also very good but overdone) about 3 tablespoons of rice almondine (also very good but 3 tablespoons?) I had grill pork chop $30 tiny bit of broccolli and 2 very small red potatoes (very good but why so unbelievably stingy?) I ordered salad with blue cheese dressing which was not included, no bread, shrimp cocktail $20 5 shrimp great sauce. no bread no butter no salad? What planet are they on $97 total, why should i have to ask and check through the order and have to wait another 15 minutes for them to do me a favor?? read more

Food and service were fantastic! Absolutely loved the grouper! My husband could cut his steak with a fork! The new owners have done a wonderful job to upgrade this almost 90 year old building, yet keep the quaint atmosphere that everybody loved. Will absolutely be back. Make sure you have the crab cakes for appetizer if you don't have them for a meal. You can't leave Billy's without having had them! read more

Went to dinner for Valentines Day with my husband,my daughter and her husband. We reserved a late dinner time so the grand-kids could be in bed for the babysitter! The dinner was terrible!!! We love the black forest steak and when we arrived we were informed they were out...I had requested a special meal when making the reservation as one in the party has Crohn's and was told they cook everything from scratch and could accommodate...no such luck... they were actually out of all sides except french fries.... OK so we are thinking of leaving and the manager arrives and states...we are making red potato's as a side dish...it will be 20 minutes...we decide to stay since they are being soooo nice(BIG Mistake)..we order appetizers (which of course drove the bill even higher)...and dinners. The food arrives...all with french fries (oops they say so sorry no other side available!) , all with steamed broccoli...the vegetable side dishes we ordered were also out! I think that is called bait and switch! I could not believe it...when the bill came...FULL PRICE...really...we did not get what we ordered and what we did get was not very well cooked. If they would have been honest we may have left but we would not have been so angry an disappointed at being misled. the bread was delicious and the appetizers were good but pricey however I am sad to say...No more Black Forest Steaks for me...I will not return! read more

My husband had hung out at Billy's with the MG car club 60 years ago and wanted to check it out. The menu history does not record it, but it was at that time said to have been originally a stable, and when my husband first went there was surrounded by fences. He remembered ordering burgers, but chose a petite filet this time and found it fork tender and topped with caramelized onions and mushrooms Our son ordered salmon, which came cooked in precisely the offbeat way he had ordered it. I chose shrimp scampi, with an overkill of shrimp cocktail as well, and was pleased with shrimp that were plump, tender, and succulent. The cocktail shrimp were artfully displayed around a footed glass, but it was unexpectedly filled with spring greens, and the two accompanying sauces were so good that I considered hanging on to them to dip those greens! See other reviews for the perfectly fresh salads and warm chef-made bread. We all ordered broccoli, and there was nothing skimpy about the servings. My husband ordered the roasted red potatoes and loved them. We shared 3 ways a slice of whipped cream-topped key lime pie and enjoyed every morsel. Denise was our waitress and was charming, efficient, gracious, and, as I told her, "decorative," as well! There was a musician who played various instruments and sang gentle folk songs, but I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned that there were fresh deep red roses on every table. We, too, lingered until closing and never felt compelled to leave. A lovely dining option...I am recommending to cousins who are coming from Illinois. read more

Prior to this, we even brought friends who hadn't been there before and loved it...now, to our recent experience: We were seated and the waitress seemed as though she wasn't very familiar with the menu and had to check on our requests, each check took a disturbingly long time. When we brought our friends, my gal ordered a hamburger and I asked the waitress if she could have the wagyu, rather than the angus burger, she readily said yes and my gal marveled over the burger...fast forward to the last experience, the waitress said she'd have to order the wagyu as posted and it "wasn't available" as a stand alone order. So my gal settled for the angus burger and again, the wait was a bit long and as we were considering to leave, the waitress showed up, gave us our food and left. the onion rings were cold...literally...they had been out so long that they weren't even warm (our prior experiences the onion rings arrived hot and delicious). Again we waited for our waitress to return and my gal had to ask another waitress if she could get us some hot onion rings. That waitress noted the cold onion rings and brought them back to the kitchen to prove we weren't being unreasonable, which was a greatly appreciated gesture on her part. Very promptly, the "other" waitress brought our onion rings, apologizing profusely...we thanked her and when my gal started into her Caesar salad, it was inedible....soggy, nearly tasteless and resembling a hot spinach salad with soggy lettuce than a crisp Caesar salad....the upside, the second batch of onion rings were up to their usual excellent standard, the burger was good, but not the intensity of flavor their wagyu burger had. If we hadn't been semi-regulars, it is a near certainty we wouldn't go back, but we aren't going to let a single experience unravel years of good experiences.

We were about 30 people, and everything flowed smoothly from start to finish. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place has real history. This is not a themed restaurant. The decor is authentic, with original 1930s pieces throughout. The Tiffany chandelier immediately stands out, and the bar itself has a story. We were told it came from Cicero and dates back to the Prohibition era when Al Capone ran things. You can actually feel that history in the room, which made the night feel unique and memorable. We started our evening on the Havana Bar patio, which was such a great way to gather everyone before dinner. Chic, relaxed, and energetic without being overwhelming. Our bartender Kristen was awesome and It ended up being the perfect place to both start and end the night. The handcrafted cocktails were excellent. Perfectly balanced and clearly made with care. They do classic cocktails beautifully, but the creative options really stood out. The Sharon-tini and the Double Stop were favorites at our table and paired surprisingly well with the menu. They also have the best espresso martinis! Dinner exceeded expectations, especially for a group this size. I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly. The tableside garlic butter presentation was a highlight. Melted with a flame right at the table and absolutely delicious. It added a level of experience you do not usually get with group dining. The chocolate crème brûlée was delicious! The live music was the best we have heard in the area. It elevated the entire evening without overpowering conversation, which is rare and appreciated during a corporate dinner. We were genuinely happy to find a restaurant that can handle large corporate groups while still delivering elevated food, service, ambiance, and entertainment. 31 Supper Club feels like a true destination. My entree included grilled salmon, mashed potatoes and green beans. The salmon was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. I don't eat mashed potatoes very often but I'm glad I ordered these as well as the green beans. This was the perfect pair with the salmon. I also had a glass of house cabernet which was tasty and reasonably priced. Luke was very friendly and checked on me regularly. I would absolutely recommend checking out Stonewood Grill & Tavern!

We visit Beaver Bar multiple times during the larger motorcycle events like Bike Week and…read moreBiketoberfest annually. The establishment is open all year round; however, it's most 'happening' during those two events. It's a great spot to take a break and kick back in one of their chairs on the lawn in front of the building to enjoy an adult beverage, smoke a cigar or something more potent, and watch all the motorcycles go by. Traffic slows down here so you have an opportunity to see all the unique and custom bikes and people wearing all their wild biker garb. There are also hundreds of people walking back and forth between Iron Horse Saloon and Broken Spoke to see the big bands at each location, so you have an opportunity to see and meet a lot of cool and unique people if you're chilling here. During the larger motorcycle events motorcycle parking (in the general area) is typically $5 but you can find free spots if you know where to look. Parking for cars is usually around $20 but you can find $10 spots. Pricing fluctuates depending on how high capacity will be that evening; essentially, if Hair Ball is playing it's $20 for a car unless you arrive earlier in the day. The bar can get packed inside; they have some tables for dining-in but they are limited. There is also a nice patio in the back with more tables for dining. There is a stage for bands and there are usually bands playing all day during the big bike events. I don't think I've seen a 'bad band' here yet. I haven't eaten dinner here but we have tried their Sunday breakfast bar in the past. The buffet is $7 and it starts at 8:00am. A group of us like to go up in the morning to see the happenings here and before heading over to Broken Spoke, Iron Horse, or Teddy Morse's Harley to catch whatever early morning activities are going on. Staff is friendly, but it can be difficult getting a drink at times during peak hours. They don't have any beer stations around where you can just grab a beer and go like at main street, most people are passing through from Iron Horse to Broken Spoke and vice-versa, so they are more likely to order drinks at those two locations. There are some that might hang here for a while but they are usually waiting for an event to start somewhere else and just want to relax somewhere different for a while. It's not the cleanest place around and the bathrooms can get trashed here during large events. Honestly your best option for a restroom is the Porto potties at the Broken Spoke because they hire staff to maintain them during the events. You will find that the Porto Potties at Broken Spoke are much cleaner than the ones at Iron Horse. All-in-all, Beaver Bar is a great place to visit during the larger motorcycle events and if you're looking for a great spot to get away from the larger crowds, shop for a while, get a quick bite to eat, and relax for a few, than Beaver Bar is the place.
