I've known about the Bilt Cafe but never got around to visiting- on the first of the month, they always do an event (usually a free item for Bilt card holders) but it seemed to always end up being a weekday during work hours... Luckily, this month the 1st was on the weekend! And they event was for a free half of a fancy vodka chicken parm sandwich from Tucci. The event started at 11am- I got there around 10:50am and saw a line about 40 people deep. While it seemed long, I thought the Bilt team did a great job moving people along- they would come to you and have you check in with your phone- and also were mindful about having people not be in front of the entrances of the neighboring stores/restaurants. Maybe they're used to it since this sort of event happens every month! The inside of the cafe is very small, I don't think I saw any seats inside. Choices of drinks include your usual coffee/cold brews/lattes, but also a specialty latte (The Blueprint). Since it is a partnership with Maman, they also serve a bunch of tasty pastries (croissants, cookies, quiches- but I don't think I saw the Maman Pistachio Croissant I love so much on the menu!) I got my free sandwich and also ordered a small iced matcha latte. While the latte was just okay, I appreciated how fast the barista was. My drink was $6.50+tax- as a Bilt card holder, I get 11x points (yay). Check it out if you're in the neighborhood and need a snack/caffeine fix!

(Overall: A) - Upon returning to the tristate area, I could not have been more excited to visit the Bilt cafe. Earning 11X points is a seductive incentive, and I was thrilled to find that the Blueprint Latte made up of coconut milk and butterfly pea flower was equally attractive in looks and taste. The cafe itself is also very modern and stylish, with art pieces and items from the Bilt collection. The staff are quite nice too, and my only gripe is that their hoodie is $175 -- something I may purchase if it were at a lower price point!! Bilt Café is a cozy little spot that does something really cool--on the first of every month (rent day), they offer free pastries and coffee. The pastries rotate monthly, which keeps things fun and fresh. The café itself is on the smaller side and can get a bit loud, so it's not the best place if you're looking for a quiet work session. But overall, it's a welcoming shop with a nice vibe, and definitely worth stopping by--especially on rent day!

Cute cafe serving drinks and food from Maman! Stopped by for rent day and they were giving away free coffee and Popup bagels. There was a bit of a line but it went very quickly.

I came here for a Bilt member event. The lady who got me free coffee was very nice to add enough cream to make it palatable for a non-coffee drinker like me to enjoy it. They have Sugar in the Raw for sugar and I got what I think was a free chocolate chip cookie as well. If anyone had been in the mood to mingle, I could have met quite a few fellow Bilt members but it seems many of them know each other already or some had friends who paid for items for themselves. Definitely a more urban demographic than the one in my building. The presence of this cafe makes me wish I worked in this area or had some excuse to go there more often than I currently do. If you're a Bilt member, it's definitely a must to go there at least once.

Cool cafe that is partnered with maman. The warmed up almond croissant was pretty fresh and crispy. It was packed with almond filling too which oozed out. The filling was a tad sweeter than I would like, but still great. Great seating outside the cafe too and the service was on point, probably because it was opening weekend.

Great place to stop for a coffee or latte. Service was quick and efficient. Chicken parm sandwich was excellent.

The cafe is cute but the coffee that I got wasn't the best. They gave out free cookies for the grand opening and the cookie was amazing. Service could be a little better but I think it was just a busy day. Would love to revisit and give this place a better review! :)

I've had Ten Thousand Coffee on my to-go list for the LONGEST. I finally went for the first time…read moreand there were so many drinks I wanted to try so I ended up buying 3. 1. The Jeju Green Tangerine Matcha honestly just tastes like a tangerine selter drink but in the best way, because I don't typically enjoy seltzer or carbonated beverages. I really enjoy the flavor and the carbonation isn't too strong, probably because I brought it home to drink. I don't really taste the matcha but I would definitely still order this again. 2. Matcha Einspanner. This is my first time having an Einspanner so I have no idea what I was expecting but this is DELICIOUS. It's so silky and smooth and the TASTE is just right up my alley. The matcha is light but you can still taste it. Absolutely, would drink this all the time if I could. 3. Purple Sweet Potato Latte. This. This. Omg, why haven't I tried this sooner?! The first sip and initial taste, I almost tasted nothing, just milk. And then all of a sudden, there's an explosion of flavor in your mouth. As a sweet potato lover, I was in heaven. I have absolutely no words for this drink, just try it. 100/10 recommend. This is probably my favorite one out of the 3 that I bought. I went around ... 2:45PM on a Friday and most of the seats were taken, if I remember correctly. There were a decent amount of seats and the space was decent. I liked the minimal aesthetic they had for the design of the interior. Not to forget, the staff at the register was absolutely wonderful, she answered all my questions, she's so sweet. I think I'm disappointed that I haven't tried this place sooner. Y'all get out of your comfort zone and try the Purple Sweet Potato Latte !! Or if not, just try this place out. I will definitely be recommending the Purple Sweet Potato Latte to all my family and friends.

The shop was nice and clean and it wasn't too busy when we stopped by…read more I ordered the tiramisu einspänner, which was exactly what it sounded like a generous dollop of tiramisu on top of an einspänner latte. While it was a fun and unique drink, I probably should have opted for something else. The topping was literally like actual tiramisu rather than just tiramisu flavoring, and it felt like there was more ice and tiramisu than latte. Personally, I would have preferred more of the tiramisu flavor without the full tiramisu texture mixed into the drink. That said, it was an interesting concept and I'm glad I tried it. I'd definitely be open to coming back and trying another latte on a future visit.

Amazing Creme (Croux) Puffs!!!…read more I got the green tea, black sesame, & earl grey. The cream filling is very generous and the pastry isn't too thick. Loved the outside flavoring. Each one was perfectly made and absolutely delicious. Would come back if ever in New York to try everything else! I still think of these cream puffs often!

Very cute treats with Asian flavors! I love the dedication to the alpaca and cute character theme…read moreacross all the pastries, from the macarons to the jar on the panna cottas. We had the raspberry tart and the milk cloud cake. Price points were very high, even for midtown pastries. I enjoyed the milk cloud cake because of the black tea infused cream really came through. The other bits in it were not as impressive--the small chocolate bits were dry and this viscous layer in it (tapioca?) lacked taste. The raspberry tart was very adorable with two macarons. The tart shell was a bit dry and crumbly, but if you like raspberry the flavor does come through in the filling. The staff weren't warm in any way, but we're in midtown which tends to be hectic, and we were there at the end of the day so it's not a dealbreaker or anything really egregious. The place isn't very spacious for seating, so unless you're coming at a time that isn't busy, you might not get a seat/I'd plan around getting your sweets to go. That was no problem for me this time around, though. Overall this place is cute, and if you're looking for an Asian-inspired treat in midtown before a broadway show (Wicked is nearby) this could be an option for you. I just wouldn't expect it to particularly standout in terms of price and quality.

I probably never leave reviews in general, especially negative ones, but this experience was so…read moreegregious that I honestly felt like I had to say something. I've worked in restaurants and bars long enough to understand that staff drinking happens, but this was on another level entirely. I came in with a group of friends and one of the bartenders, Will, was so visibly drunk that it made the entire experience uncomfortable. Slurred speech, wobbling behind the bar, taking orders while chewing food with his mouth open -- it was honestly embarrassing to watch. He looked like he absolutely did not want to be there. At one point, my group had been trying to get his attention for another round for quite a while while he stood around talking with coworkers. We then watched staff take a shot together, and when he finally came over he burped mid-conversation and literally had whatever he had just been drinking dribbling down his neckbeard. That was the moment where the whole thing went from unprofessional to just gross. What made it worse was that it didn't seem isolated to one employee. Throughout the night we watched staff openly taking shots and drinking behind the bar like it was a house party instead of a business. There's a difference between bar culture and complete lack of professionalism, and this crossed that line hard. One of the friends I was with actually frequents the DUMBO location and said that the last time she was there, the same bartender also seemed intoxicated, which makes this feel less like a bad night and more like an ongoing issue. The DUMBO location itself is in an amazing spot, which makes it even more disappointing. But ownership seriously needs to get control of what's going on there before someone gets hurt or the place develops a reputation for having drunk staff on the clock. Unfortunately, the experience was uncomfortable enough that my girlfriends and I won't be coming back. I genuinely hope the employee mentioned gets help if this is a regular thing, because nobody should be working service in that condition.
