Rotisserie Chicken , sweet plantain, frijoles (beans) and arepa !

Another delicious Latin American Restaurant. I got the Whole Rotisserie Chicken , that came with 3 sides of your choice , so we had sweet plantain, beans, their delicious coconut must have coconut rice, and arepas . Oh yeaa and don't forget to stop at the bakery and try their baked goods! My only critique is that I wish they gave more rice and beans with the orders , but literally everything was fresh and delicious.

If you are looking for a traditional Colombian spot in Virginia, this is it. The selection of food is "Big" and the flavor of each option is amazing (at least of what we ordered). The servings are enough to be full and maybe even take it home with you. Don't hesitate to order a Juice made at the spot with either water or milk, you won't be disappointed. I had the opportunity to come with 2 Colombians and they approved the place, which for me was good since I do not know better about authentic cuisine from Colombia. If you are homesick, even the lollipops will make the trick.

The empanadas were ok, the food was ok nothing too exciting. The freshly made fruit drinks are excellent, can be made with water or milk and you can mix and match flavors.

Arroz con pollo, empanada, and some of the paisa.

The area is growing and expanding and the food scene is benefitting! Admittedly, Bilu's has been on the block for a long time, but they've recently expanded and moved to a bigger storefront with a larger dining room. When i saw them relocate i knew they must have been doing good and I had to see what brought them this success. And i found out! I'm a fan of simple food with good flavors and this place has them. I've had arroz con pollo 10,000 times. And so it's going to be hard to throw some at me that's doing something i haven't had; but that's just it. Bilu's wasn't some nuance approach, it was exactly what i wanted it to be. Simple, flavorful arroz con pollo; the way it's supposed to be . The paisa was well prepared, all the meat was flavorful and tender. Sweet plantanos were fantastic and the arroz y habichuelas was excellent. No over cooked beans or dry rice. I enjoyed the food so much i brought back 9 other guests with me the next day to have a meal together. Everyone ate something different which i love, and so i got to see a bunch of dishes that i haven't had yet. And everyone was VERY pleased. And to add to the delicious food, the customer service was excellent! We didn't get into the restaurant until after 9pm because of an event earlier that evening. They close at ten, but they were friendly, accommodating and attentive and even stayed open a little late for us to be able to enjoy our meal in peace and not feel rushed. If you're in Virginia Beach and want authentic tasty food in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere check this place out. Parking is plentiful now that they've moved, dining hall suits small or large groups; super casual so don't dress to impress anyone but yourself. And do yourself a favor and try more then one thing when you go.

Food & service was excellent for the whole table (7 people). I got the Bandejita and it was perfect.

Let's talk about the pineapple bun first--because I could honestly eat 10 more of these! It wasn't overly sweet, and the bun was soft with a meaty, gooey center. The coarse bits of sugar on top added a nice little crunch that made every bite even better. The hot dog bun was also amazing. The hot dog had a nice sear around it, which gave it great flavor while keeping it juicy. Definitely one of my favorites! The chicken buns were good and had a unique sweet-and-savory flavor. They weren't my absolute favorite, but they were definitely not bad--just different from what I expected. I wasn't a huge fan of the ham and cheese, though. As my husband put it, it was exactly what it was called: ham and cheese. It reminded me of a simple ham-and-cheese sandwich wrapped in a soft, fluffy blanket of bread. If that's your thing, you'll probably enjoy it! Overall, everything we tried was delicious, fresh, and clearly made with care. I'll definitely be back for more pineapple buns!

The Ube Ensaymada was coated in sugar and had the most amazing, Ube filling, it was absolutely delicious. The Ham & Cheese Bread was also pretty tasty. I was most interested in the sourdough sliced loaf. They make in their commercial kitchen off Lynnhaven. After discussing purchased one. The loaf was pricey at $13. Lots of fresh spinach sauteed in olive oil and garlic with pillowy ravioli filled with a smooth cheese filling, I had sfogliatelle for dessert. The sfogliatelle (shell-shaped pastry) is worth a trip from Kempsville. In addition to the great food, I have to send a shoutout to Erin. I was meeting a friend, she was late, not reachable by text or phone, which is highly unusual for her. After a half hour wait I was convinced my friend was having a health issue. I thanked Erin, explained the situation to her, and left to drive to my friend's house. Needless to say, five minutes later (still in the parking lot), I got a message through Messenger that my friend was safe inside the restaurant. Erin volunteered her personal phone to help us out and was very kind through the whole debacle. Almost needed a daytime glass of wine to recover!
