Today we ordered the small pan and 36 lumpia. Sometimes when you get a large batch the flavor/season be off. Not at Sally's. Did I have to wait, yes. Is it worth the wait, 100%. Do they only accept cash, yes. It's only an inconvenience if you don't know but if you gotta wait, is it? It's not an inconvenience in my eyes when the food is good, consistent and flavorful. Best pancit in the area! Their pancit has a combination of bihon (thin noodles) & canton noodles with a lemon flavor. We got a medium size that fed a party of 8 and allowed everyone to get seconds. We also ordered lumpia which was made of beef and we're longer than the small pieces ordered elsewhere. Ordered BBQ Chicken & Pork skewers and chicken adobo. The skewers were a bit cold, but still tasted good. They DO NOT take credit cards, so be prepared to pay with cash or check. read more

I ordered Miki Bihon Pancit for our New Year's Eve dinner. Miki Bihon was the combination of the bihon noodles and miki noodles. I placed the order the night before and told the staff that I will pick up the food at 12:30 pm. When I got there, I didn't wait too long because the pancit was ready. The price was very affordable compared to all the other Filipino restaurants. As for the taste, their Miki Bihon was one of the best pancit I've ever had. The only thing I disliked about this place is that that they do not take debit cards or credit cards. They only accept cash and/or checks. If you want to eat the best pancit in the area or of you are having a party, Sally's have the best pancit. Sally's is one of those Filipino bakeries that you go to when this is your last resort. I mean don't get me wrong, they are not bad but there's better in the area. The store is small, it's in the Food Lion shopping strip. They offer hot food items, desserts and some Asian groceries. So of course for the holidays, you have to have Pandesal (filipino rolls) for Filipino get togethers and I was tasked to bring it. In particular the pandesita (the mini pandesal), which is my my favorite because to me it's softer and just the right size carb! There's a 5 dozen minimum order for pandesitas but the cost is fairly priced under $10! Now having pandesita from other bakeries, Sally's fail to deliver on the softness and taste. After one day, I found it to be already stale. When I placed my order for a Monday pick up, they called me on Sunday telling me I didn't pick up my order. Wait, what? No my order pick up was Monday I told them. They didn't trip and said, "Oh ok, we will see you tomorrow". Now knowing my people, these rolls are going to be a day old because they're not going to make me a fresh batch. Well when I picked it up, it was on its way to staleness! It wasn't soft like I know fresh pandesal should be. Oh well.... So if you place an order be sure they understand your pick up date/time. read more

Quality of the food is very good. We typically pick up lumpia (egg rolls) and pancit here. They have plenty of desserts, baked goodies and other small items in this semi-grocery store. We order food to cater small get togethers so we get lumpia and pancit to feed 10 to 50 people. They typically do not have the food ready when you have requested it to be picked up, any where from 30-45 minute wait. We thought we would buck that trend and order it and say our pick up was at 1:30pm when we really needed it at 2:00pm. Still had to wait additional time. Main reason we come back is because it's fairly convenient to our residence and the food is overall better than most other places for catering. Don't even think about planning for the holidays. Add at least an hour and a half for order pick ups. It gets very disorganized then. In short, plan to wait for larger orders no matter what. read more

I found puto for my mom!!! YAY. Sallys is a very small store but they have some snacks for sale along the wall when you walk in and noodles on the opposite wall. To the rear looks to be the kitchen where the magic happens. Magic being lumpia, pancit, Puto....etc. My mom and I made the trek out to Sally's from western branch to find Puto. Luckily they had some available to purchase. Apparently my mom is a Puto connoisseur and checked the sponginess of the Puto and was impressed. After she bought what was available we placed an order for an additional 4 dozen that I'd be back to pick up in a few weeks. This shop has such good prepared food! I loved almost everything we tried, which over the course of a few visits was puto, karioka, hopia, kutsinta, ukoy, pancit bihon and palabok. This is mainly a review of the Pancit Palabok that we recently ordered from them. We've been getting our Pansit Guisado from this place for a long time, which just tells you how much we enjoy it. On my mom's birthday, we decided to change it up a bit and ordered Pancit Palabok. I just assumed they'll have good Pancit Palabok too. I ordered the medium-sized party tray for $32 + tax. I think they said it's good for 12 or more people. I mean, it's pretty big. The sauce is already mixed in the noodles, then topped with crushed chicharon and few little slices of hardboiled egg. They used thicker noodles, which I'm not a fan of, but it's the least of my concerns. You can taste the shrimp flavor, which is typical to Pancit Palabok, but overall not the best. There's something missing. Where's the ground meat that's usually in the sauce? They even skipped the chopped scallions. For the amount of noodles, they could've added more hardboiled eggs. This is the most basic Pancit Palabok you can possibly have. Will not order this again. read more

I love Sally's pancit. It's the absolute BEST, tastiest pancit in the area, and truthfully, anywhere near or far. I can tell a Sally's pancit from any other any day. They have a distinct taste and I can't explain it. It's just freaking delicious. It's made with thin, rice noodles (bihon) and thick, canton noodles (egg noodles). I have noticed in the recent orders from there that the chicken ratio has had a major decline. It used to be hard to miss, big chunky pieces...today, I noticed teeny tiny pieces scattered very sparsely. The flavor is definitely still there though. One (ok, maybe there's 2) thing I have to mention about Sally's that I DO NOT like. 1) When you call ahead for a big order and state a specific time, almost every time, it's never ready for you. If their food wasn't so delicious I would never come back. But the wait is WORTH IT. 2) During hot days, it's noticeably even hotter inside the store. When it's busy, like during the holidays and on weekends, it gets warm in there. It's like they don't want wanna kick on the AC for whatever reason. I don't want the Philippine experience in that aspect. They sell other side foods as well as small grocery items typical of most Filipino homes and cuisine, just no produce. They even have pre-cooked native dishes in the refrigerator in the even you don't feel like cooking that day. Just heat up at home. Another thing I recommend from Sally's is their vegetable Lumpia. 3 things make this bakery a success. 1) Family owned, and family workers. right when I walked into this location I noticed nothing but Auntie's and Lola's (Filipino for Grandma) prepping the food in the back, which means your getting great quality with your order cause no one makes better food than mom. 2) Price on their items, I've only been her once, and we came here to order mass quantity of items. We ordered 3 large trays and all of that came out to only $110.00 which is really great when you account all the food you are receiving. 3) Honesty, they displayed this characteristics when they notified us that one of the trays was short on the order, and they refunded our money for the portion that was not included. Any other baker would of not even notified their customer and kept the extra money for profit, but not this location that displayed honesty to their customers. If your going to host a family event and your looking for a bakery to help you with that, you can definitely come to this location for quatity, low cost, and most importantly HONESTY. read more

My sisters and I came back into town for a family reunion. Everyone talked about enjoying some delicious pandesal with our coffee in the morning. My mom had insisted that we go to Sally's rather than going to Laguna or Glory's. We arrive at 9am to this bakery. We're so excited to walk into this bakery with the aroma of fresh baked bread and other sweet smells in the air. We walk in, a lady pleasantly greeted us and we excitedly asked for a dozen of these golden rolls. Nope! Our spirits quickly are crushed when we're told that they didn't have ANY pandesal. We're talking to each other in disbelief. How can a bakery not have ANY? She then tells us, it's because they were closed the day before. So this past New Years I decided to place an order for my family party only to be greatly disappointed. It was completely different from the friends party I had and was recommend. Maybe a different cook or they was rushed bc of the holiday pickups. Inno but it was disappointing. Also during any big holiday if you place an advance order be aware that you are gonna wait atleast a half an hr after your pick up time as they do not prepare it before had. A friend recommended Sally's for their pancit so I decided to give them a try for a grad party this weekend. We ordered a $25 mediun tray with bihon only (without the canton or miki noodles). Odd that it cost $2 extra to make it that way...hmmm. Anyhow, pancit was tasty even though Sally's seems to skimp on the meat...the veggie/meat to noodle ratio is off. Terrible customer service, spoiled food... run!!! Ordered 3 doz puto/3 doz kutsinta Xmas day 4pm for a 6pm party. During pickup, they kept telling my brother they can't find my order. Puto order was ready at pickup, but the kutsinta order wasn't...I guess they had to still cook it b/c he waited 45 minutes for it! By the time I took my first bite on the puto, I immediately spit it out!!! It was a bad taste as if pancit was steaming in with the puto. I smelled it and it definitely didn't smell like puto...it had a spoiled food smell. I was disgusted. All my family tasted it that night...and all said the same it was bad/spoiled...everyone gag and spit it out. The next day I went there to complain and wanted a refund. One of the lolas smelled/tasted it...and didn't say it was bad. The other lola didn't bother to smell or taste it and just said no refund. All she said was I should of called right away. I told her you are closed after 6pm on Xmas that is why I'm bringing back the whole batch to show you we didn't even eat it. The lola said no refund. Wow talk about customer service! I told her I've been ordering for years and never had this smell/taste before. This place just lost one good customer and many more. Had she corrected the problem...I probably would of have just let this slide....definitely it was not fresh or just made...b/c it smelled and tasted spoiled...and I know what their puto taste like b/c I've been ordering from them for years. The batch I ordered few days ago before Xmas smelled more fresh than the one I just got. In the end, I didn't get a refund...and sadly, the lola felt she was right not the customer.
