I've owned my i3 REx for more than 5 years, absolutely no issues with it until a few days ago. Without warning I found my i3 had become a lifeless "brick". I called and spoke to Ryan and set up an appointment with Peter, his i3 Specialist. Peter met me and the tow truck driver at the Shop. He took time asking the service history and the symptoms of the current situation. He then shared his experience with similar problems and the process to confirm and resolve the problem. My problem turned out to be the ISB Sensor and the 12 volt battery. Peter kept me fully informed during the entire two day process. Ryan and Peter did an excellent job helping me install a CSZ valvetronic style catback exhaust on my 2020 BMW F90 M5 Competition. They kept me updated throughout the process and let me know there were some unexpected issues with the install (not their fault but the manufacturer). They are highly knowledgeable and did the install the right way which took longer than expected. Despite that, they did not charge me any more than the quote they provided to me on the phone which was very reasonable compared to other local shops I called up. How interesting: oil change last week. Included in recommended maintenance repair was serpentine belt replacement for $459. Checked with dealer; $239, checked with Beeline; $139 (aftermarket belt) and they inspected and said existing belt was still good! Also had beeline check strut arms. They identified minor cracks, but did not recommend replacement at this time. Bimmerspeed recommended replacement for $800 plus dollars. Buyer beware. They lost my business. read more

His shop has everything from E46 3 series to rare Z4s and lots of race cars. My point is he is qualified and does it all there. I was very pleased that his price came in 15% less than his estimated. I brought my wife's X1 here for repair and I received outstanding service by Peter and the guys. They were able to take my car in the next day after talking to them and their prices are competitive. The vehicle had a valve cover gasket leak causing motor oil to leak and spray throughout the engine bay. They were able to fix the issue and also suggested another repair once they started working on the vehicle. They pressure washed the engine after they were done due to all the oil residue caused by the leak. The repair was completed in a day and the car runs great and no longer has smoke coming out from the hood. I will definitely be bringing my car here again in the future. And, the fact that they're fairly close to me is an added bonus. read more

My E46 2002 330i needed a Clutch Replacement, took it to BimmerSpeed for the first time, and I can't believe the service and the honesty, no seriously, an honest mechanic, they are harder to find than an honest dentist. Ryan really explained the issues with the clutch and said I could keep going with the original clutch a bit longer, and did not pressure me into a new clutch replacement. I replaced it anyways as the car had 200K+ miles on the original clutch, and I did not want to be stranded. Got the car back today and the car drives like a dream, Ryan and team took the time to explain all the work performed. The car had a few other minor issues that they addressed free of charge, I also needed a new shifter, they threw that in for free!! Wait...something free from a car mechanic? a gesture from given them my business? where do these guys come from? Mechanics usually charge for window washer fluid refills. Long story short, I have gone through a lot of mechanics through the years, and by far, this is the best BMW shop I have ever been to, super clean and the team is awesome. I brought my car here for PPI. They were fast, prompt, and definitely checked out the car quickly. They identified everything that I essentially thought was wrong, but the quotes that they provided for certain repairs was definitely high. Ex. Rod Bearings can be done for much cheaper in OC at much more reputable shops, but I used the estimate to lower the price of my car more. They're definitely knowledgeable about BMWs though, and are the people you want to take a look at it in you're in the SD area. read more

335i had Yet Another Problem, this time the crankshaft position sensor. Codes thrown like Ludacris and car stuck in limp mode. I was in a bind because I needed to drive back to the Bay the next day. My usual spot in SD was all booked. I was lucky enough that these guys let me drop in, without an appointment, on the same day. Peter explained what was gonna happen up front and gave me an estimate, if it ended up being just the sensor. I was expecting to be out of the car for a whole day. Fortunately there's a lot of businesses to hang out at within walking distance, so I hit up a coffee shop less than a half mile away. I was only there for an hour when they called me back telling me it was fixed! Hooray! They also gave me the lowdown on some other problems they noticed, even knowing that I wasn't necessarily gonna have them fix it due to living elsewhere. This is prolly gonna be my new regular spot for repairs when I'm in SD. read more

Even myself, working in the automotive industry for approx 27 yrs did not make me have enough confidence in my own mechanics ability for this project. so after converting my 2001 740i sport to a 6 spd manual, 1 of our own company speed shops mechanics could not permanently eliminate the automatic transmission p1746 fault code after conversion, still thinking it was an automatic...resulting in a permanent check eng light even when our techs were doing the conversion they crossed paths with ryan's help at another shop he worked at prior to bimmerspeed opening. so 7 years later after the conversion with that eng light on, and finally to find someone who knows and bleeds blue and white (bmw colors) in their veins/dna he sleeps/snores/dreams, farts, berps... only b m w 's. get it. so in those 7 yrs includes reaching out to dinan, vac motorsports, ron @ coast motor werk , and many local so called bmw shops in san diego...what a bunch of jokers , not to mention the idiots at the dealerships in san diego ( not the escondido dlr- they are the only one who took the time to help me get euro 7 series actual bmw parts for this project ) what does it mean to finally find ryan and his crew after looking for this type of expertise SINCE 2012 , WELL IT MEANS I AM NOW A LIFER- cause my eng light is permanently gone, the car IS NOW smogged and finally registered for driving on the road legally !!... when i tell you this guy knows bmw's. dont bring the civic or F150 to him .trust me, i've owned 9 bmw's (6. 3series e30's, 1. 5series e34 , and still own a 740il and 740i sport) . a true enthusiast i know i am. btw, i am not on facebook, or into all that internet crap. but i just googled how to do a yelp review so i could let you all know about this guy, especially how frustrating its been until i found him... not to mention his beyond fair prices, so after 7 yrs to find ryan/bimmerspeed is god sent. what great family guy too. thank you ryan, crew ( including dreadlocks technician-yea man ). .. dezi, deeznuts.! read more

Place is trash, hot garbage for the price they do their work. Took my car to get a diagnostic on an engine oil leak and a power steering leak. These guys didn't/couldn't open up the hood but still were "able" to diagnose my car. All they had to do was call me to ask how to open the hood. NOT VERY HARD FOR A BMW MECHANIC. I'm not even sure how you do a diagnostic without even looking at the engine from the top down. If you're looking for an honest company, don't go here. They will try to rip you off. read more

My car recently showed transmission fault and was changing gear to parking randomly at the stop light. I thought it was something serious so I took it to SD BMW for diagnosis. After diagnostics that cost $175, I got a long laundry list of items that BMW told me I needed to fix either immediately or soon with a huge price tag for a 7 yr old X1. I was shocked enough that agreed to do a battery change that supposedly was causing the gear shifting, took itemized problems and started researching and shopping around for a reputable and reasonable BMW expert. This is how I found Beemerspeed. They not only provided me reasonable and competitive quote for fixing leaking valve cover and replacing radiator assembly as it had low fluid bc radiator was seeping but also FIXED it in one day and communicated transparently about it. Additionally, they checked if other itemized repairs pointed out by the dealership were truly needed, such as seeping oil pan gasket or replacing GUBIO flex disk assembly were needed and they confirmed I had nothing to worry about and there was no need for repairs on those. I also had a parking sensor issue that at first I wasn't planning on fixing as it wasn't cheap but I was annoyed with the error message and pulled the trigger to get this fixed as well. Somehow Beemerspeed gained my trust with how they talked to me, their more reasonable pricing and the fact they focus on fast cars that require extra attentive maintenance and high quality products (like good quality oil). They got themselves a new client for sure. DONT WASTE MONEY AT THE DEALERSHIP AND CHECK THEM OUT!!!!
