Food and service was very good! This is primarily a takeout place. I eat a lot of Chinese food and this is the real deal. I had the beef chow fun, dry style. Also had won ton soup. For what 4 same items I had each time it was good and hot. Huge portions of lunch special each time it is sufficent to feed two people easily The Sweet and Sour Chicken is good its made with white meat which I am a huge fan of. Egg roll is good. I like that style. Crab rangoon filling is unique I like it. No complaints. Fried rice is so good and I do not generally like the rice due to too much salt. They make it just perfect for my taste buds The decor and furniture is kind of outdated but food is perfect for the price I am not going to complain as long as food is good. Bin Hai is a great local Asian place for takeout. We usually get the Orange Chicken or steak which is very tasty. We've also tried the Mongolian Chicken or Steak and been happy with that. The best Chinese food in Deerfield! You get a lot of food for a very low price here especially with the lunch specials. Every dish I have tried so far has a great flavor and is so big I can easily split it into two meals. I recommend the Singapore rice noodle. It is a perfect mix of shrimp, pork, and curry spices with noodles. The usual favorites like orange chicken and sweet and sour pork are good and crispy too. I also like the Mongolian Beef which has a good flavor of stir fried hoisin sauce and onions. read more

I got the Singapore noodles(amazing flavor), chicken and broccoli (a ton of veggies), combo fried rice, and beef lomain. Everything came supper fresh and delicious. Bin Hai has been a favorite of mine for a while because of there delicious Egg Foo Young. Best I've had. The one drawback was spotty service, with long delays both take out and if you dared eat in the restaurant. I can say with my last 4 visits that this issue seems to have been rectified. The new owner is super friendly and service was spot on. The food has been great ( Excellent Chow Fun, Mongolian Beef, and Crab Rangoon besides the aforementioned Egg Foo ), and the price is very affordable ( with coupon less then I spent recently at Panda Express ). Only drawback is small space for dine in, but overall by a decent amount my go to in the Northbrook area for Chinese. read more

Food was good. When I got there I was paying cash they told me the price was $34.99 so I paid it. When I got home and got the receipt online and the bill was actually $24.99. I responded to the email telling them that they charged $10 extra, I also called and left a message with the restaurant. I have not heard back from either reach outs. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was an error and not them trying to get more cash from me, but will not be going again. Yes BinHai is that good. This is not your typical bland Chinese take out. The preparations are excellent. We had the Hunan beef and egg foo young both well done. Prices are very reasonable and good portions. I agree with other reviewers this will be are go to for Chinese. Not just for take out but dinning in. Great find. read more

The young kid at the desk said at 5:35 my order was ready but the woman needed to pack it. Ended up waiting till 5:50. Woman came out and said your order was done long time ago, someone must've taken it. Ridiculous! If you can't fulfill an order or on time just be honest. This place is delicious and consistently good. Ingredients are fresh and meat isn't rubbery as often reason I quit ordering from other local Chinese restaurants. I live right by this place but never really considered going. The one time I went in, over a year ago, I walked out after looking at the menu because it was so expensive (think $14 for an entree). Today I was craving Chinese, but my standard ghetto Chinese restaurant had gone out a business. I remember my neighbor telling me about this place, so I decided to see if it was going to be worth the money. When I walked in, I discovered that Binhai is under new management - and apparently, one of the first things they did was lower the prices. I went for some basics: garlic chicken, mongolian beef, sweet & sour pork, and potstickers, all for around $25. I got free crab rangoon with my take-out order, which was nice. I was pretty impressed. The food came out quickly, and when I finally got to sit down and eat it, it was delicious. I recommend the garlic chicken - SOOO good. The mongolian beef was really good too. The sweet & sour pork was aight, but I probably wouldn't order it again. The potstickers are standard chinese take-out, and still very tasty. Plenty of food, so I had a lot of leftovers. The garlic chicken & mongolian beef both were still delicious as leftovers. Yum. The inside has been renovated, and there are some nice booths along the side. It is still a pretty small place, but given that it's inside a small strip mall, that's to be expected. I have found myself a new Chinese restaurant! Yay! read more

I did it! I have hunted high and low for good Chinese food for a while. We stumbled upon BinHai last night and had a great dinner. The atmosphere is simple but the food is great and the owner could not have been nicer (even when I was terribly clutzy and smashed a container of hot mustard to bits all over the floor). The two standout dishes for me were the Mongolian Beef (which had crispy beef and fresh scallions in a light sauce) and the pork potstickers (which was a generous portion and came with a delicious dipping sauce). We also enjoyed hot tea, egg rolls, schezwan green beans and fried rice. All the food was high quality and my kids, my husband and I all enjoyed. The new owners took over a year ago so if you haven't been in a while, go back! They did not appear to have a liquor license. I liked the hot tea and didn't think about it at the time but I wish I had inquired about whether we could BYOB for next time. read more

The food is ok, but you're paying for what you get here. I ordered the Governer's chicken. It had a little spice to it but not much. My dish instead tasted a bit more on the orange chicken side....a bit too sweet for my liking. But for $7.00 you get an egg roll and a crab rangoon with your dish. They serve these two items first, and they were just alright...didn't taste freshly made when they came out though. For a couple more bucks, I prefer Tong's and probably always will. read more

I am in love with their lunch specials. $6 or 7 for a dish, fried rice (which they happily substitute white rice for me), and egg roll and crab rangoon. Delicious. One of the best places around. Egg rolls amazing texture and flavor, crispy, but not greasy. Pot stickers piping hot, tender pork, crispy bottom. We ate the kung bao,amazing and empress chicken, crispy, sweet and spicy. It was so good we ate more than half before we decided we needed a photo. Have eaten and taken out from here many times. It compares to my favorite places in China town. Only complaint, they need some background noise or music. The place is mostly take out with a small 10 table dining room and it's dead quiet. This place is alright. The atmosphere isn't that great, and the food is decent. I went to eat in the restaurant, but I feel like this is more of the place where you pick up Chinese. The service was okay, but the food is what it is. I got the potstickers, wonton soup, kung pao chicken, and the Hunan beef. The wonton soup was good and delicious broth, but I feel like they could have left out 2 of the wontons in the soup because it was more wonton than broth. The potstickers were one of the really good things I had. Nicely fried and very flavorful filling. The kung pao chicken is one of the best I've had. It is one of the only kung pao chickens I've tried where I wasn't begging for more spice. The chicken was tender and sauce is incredible. The hunan beef was eh. Not that spicy, the flavor was very plain. The owner is very nice here, but this place is better for takeout than eating there. read more

So, I went in about three or four months ago because I knew it had changed hands AGAIN since the last time I was in a few years ago. I placed an order and waited for it to be ready and I was dying of the heat because they had no air conditioning so I was really glad I was doing takeout. While the lady was really nice, and I was hopeful it would be a place I could return to because people were coming in and out to pickup their food for takeout, and one person did come in to dine in, unfortunately the food was only mediocre. The appetizers were good, but the main dish was not and I just can't justify returning to a restaurant solely for appetizers. Well, I don't think it matters much at this point anyway because yesterday I was passing by the little strip mall it's a part of, and in the window of their restaurant was a sign saying, "Now Open," which means it's changed hands AGAIN! MAYBE the new owners will have a clue and get it right this time with good, solid, QUALITY food that is CONSISTENT? I can hope, right? But I'm not willing to try it out yet. Maybe someone else will try it first and write a review so I can judge whether or not to give it a chance. read more
