Pad Thai with no meat but 3 spice level
    Rod D.

absolutely love the food from here. Ordered through Uber eats and the food was delivered as requested. The pad Thai was delicious, flavored whale, and a perfect level of moisture. The tofu on the Patsy, you was not an afterthought and was flavored well. The chicken satay was not dry, very moist. All the food was extremely flavorful. I used to think Lai Thai was my favorite but now I am reconsidering

Cute little Thai place in the Glen! The older lady was so friendly when she handed out candy at this year's Halloween community event, and we finally made it back here to try the food. I loved that they have an extensive bubble tea menu, sushi, and traditional Thai dishes. I may come back for the lunch specials! The ahi tuna poke appetizer has a nice kick to it (jalapeños). I ran out of wonton crisps but ate the ahi tuna as is the next day. The TY sushi roll with shrimp tempura and crispy basil was very flavorful. My husband enjoyed the pad see ewe. Though he got it as a hot spice level, he didn't taste much heat. We keep saying his taste buds are dead. Facts. My girls enjoyed the California roll and huge portion of tempura udon. The food came out as it was ready, so each member of the family didn't have food at the same time, but that was fine. Will be back! I want to try the rocky road bubble tea and other sushi rolls!

An alright choice for Thai food if you're in the area. The decor is fairly simple with wooden chairs and benches that weren't uncomfortable, but I wouldn't sit down there for long periods of time. Service was sufficient, a single server was managing the entire dining room during out visit and requests were managed at a reasonable speed. Prices were alright for the portion size and ingredient quality. The food items we tried were alright in terms of texture and flavor, with a reasonable presentation. I found the pad thai to be a bit light in flavor. Other than the seared egg, there wasn't much to add a strong savory flavor to it while it was lightly coated in sauce so it wasn't very sweet either. I still enjoyed eating it, but it doesn't stand out amongst other versions of pad thai that I've had. The massamun curry with chicken was a bit more flavorful, with a nice balance between the onion, sweet potato, and coconut milk. The meat provided was plentiful, though I would've liked some additional marination or flavoring on it. The portion was quite large and easily fed 2 people. Overall, a reasonable choice for Thai food if you're in the area. The cooking didn't stand out but it did a reasonable job of representing flavors.

This was a last minute idea. We were at The Glen and were hungry and decided to stop here for lunch. You will be fooled by the unimpressive decor. This restaurant absolutely rocked the two dishes we tried. We had the shrimp pad Thai and massamun curry with sweet potatoes. The shrimp pad Thai was very sweet and had the taste I was looking for. The massamun curry was a delicious surprise. It had a sweet flavor with the sweet potatoes adding another layer to the dish. This is a great choice for fantastic Asian food!

We ordered Green Curry and Thai Fried Rice from here. Total was $23.95. Green curry was spicy. Thai Fried Rice was flavorful. Portions were generous. Customer service provided by staff was good! Check the restaurant out for good authentic Thai food!

I came here on a Saturday night, we were seated right away. The staff was so friendly and checked in on us often. The service was quick! I had pad see ewe with chicken. It was really good! The portion size was perfect! My friend had some sort of sushi and really enjoyed it. Overall, I would come back!

Pad see ew with chicken - very good!

5 stars for pad see ew with chicken. It was served piping hot and had the right amount of sweetness from the sauce and egg. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Really tasty and would definitely be back for it again! My friend had a few different sushi rolls and all of them appeared 'clunky' and thick. We shared the crab Rangoon which were also not great. The inner texture was more reminiscent of cottage cheese instead of smooth which is what I am used to. Service was a bit slow but seemed there was one 1 waitress (owner?), one of her family members as the 'sushi chef' and maybe 1 cook in the back.

My friend and I were in the neighborhood and we ordered a few rolls for outside dining: - 2 spicy scallop rolls - 1 dragon roll - 1 salmon avocado They were really good! Each piece was filled very generously and the ingredients tasted fresh. The rolls basically melted in my mouth. Usually $8 for each roll is pricey for me, but it was worth it here because of the flavorful and fresh ingredients! I tried a piece of the dragon roll, which had the perfect amount of eel sauce and crunch from the pieces of shrimp tempura. Also, customer service was excellent! The owners were very kind! I would definitely recommend this restaurant :)

Good food. Nice value. Service was attentive. Had a homely, local vibe. Atmosphere of the space was strange though - set up of restaurant felt half cute and half thrown together.

We popped in here around 4PM on a Tuesday. Loved the atmosphere, cozy and private, with comfortable seating. I had their Thai iced tea, and my girl had the butterfly pea lemonade, both were well made. Just the right emphasis of sweet and refreshing. The appetizers were spot on. We had the gyoza and the crab rangoon. The gyoza was juicy and steamed to perfection, and the crab rangoon was 5/5. We order crab rangoon at a lot of restaurants, and this was the best I'd had in awhile. We were in a sushi mood. So we tried the Spider and the Sunrise rolls. And wow. Both were eloquently crafted. The Spider was refreshing, and the Sunrise was rich and filling. The texture and taste on both were superb. The sauce that they drizzle on the Sunrise roll was savory and addictive. Both rolls had just the right combinations of flavor. We'll come back. 5/5

Typically, my husband doesn't care for this type of food so I was surprised when he suggested it. The woman helping us, possibly the owner, was very pleasant and helpful. She made accommodations and replaced 1 ingredient with a vegan substitute (just ask). The very delicious food was served in quite large portions. My "spicy" dish was definitely just the right amount of spice and all of the food was cooked just right and served warm. The sushi was fresh and good.

The original talented mom and pop owners retired and returned to Thailand, and best wishes to them. There is a newer menu and it is slightly more limited and doesn't include a favorite of ours, #51 Tom Leng, as that dish apparently was too much work to prepare. Anyway, we ordered a #22 pork hide sun (fried crispy pork with sticky rice) for $12.95 as well as a #35 pad see eiw with chicken also for $12.95. I would say the value was very good and the quality on the average side. The fried pork had good flavor but the sticky rice was microwaved in saran wrap and was a hard dough ball by the time we got home and a big disappointment. This could have been a very nice dish if the rice were steamed and eaten right there in the food court. The chicken pad see eiw was pretty average in taste and content. I would say overall it's a 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars with relative value being their best aspect. Best wishes and good luck in any event to the new owners!

Because we were already somewhat close to the area, and didn't want to go back and forth, we ended up being seated before 4 pm. It turned out to be an excellent overall experience. Chef of Siam is in its own small, dedicated building on Waukegan Road, and isn't much to look at from the outside with an OK amount of parking. It is relatively remodeled modern inside and later found out that it's been open for 2 years now. We got to choose our seating (since we were the only ones there). Menus were given along with a set of 4 table sauces. We knew our group of five wanted to eat family style so got a variety of things: classics and some I've never tried before. Chicken Satay ($7.95) - 4 pounded chicken breast pieces, marinated in a curry sauce, coming with a good cucumber salad. Tom Kha with Chicken ($5.95) - very light with good flavor. Ended up getting two of these to share, and I ended up finishing one portion by myself. Som Tum Poo $12.95 - papaya salad with salted rice field crabs. The vegetables were all al dente, with that classic Thai taste of sweet and sourness The crabs were interesting...really small, cut in half so I sucked out the meat from what I could. But I ended up not eating the legs...I ate the first piece whole, shell and all and it wouldn't be worth the effort for me. Pad Thai with Shrimp ($16.95) - Decent size portion, with a good balance of sweet/sour and plenty of plump, jumbo shrimps. Rama Noodle ($12.95) - large amount of chicken breast pieces, over wide rice noodles, topped with a yellow curry sauce and steamed broccoli surrounding. I thought it was OK, and was the least eaten of the dishes. Massaman Curry with Tofu ($12.95) - I try to get this whenever available, and this style was decent. The curry was very runny, but was delicious on top of the accompanying rice and I enjoyed the small bricks of fried tofu. Pineapple Fried Rice ($16.95) - maybe the weakest of the dishes, and also the most expensive. Not sure why pineapple fried rice continues to be one of the more expensive dishes on any Thai menu (when available)....pineapple isn't that expensive. Red Snapper ($35.00) - a whole dressed red snapper, deep fried and topped with Thai sweet/sour sauce. It's not market price, so it came from frozen and it wasn't particularly big nor had much meat. This is now what the ingredient costs now. I personally enjoyed taking the tail and slowly grabbing all of the sweet meat. Fried Banana ($6.95) - a great way to finish the meal, there were plenty of deep fried banana pieces, using a batter that you would use for fries or shrimp? My aunt confirmed that it was not plantain, but banana and I enjoyed it (reminded me a little of a banana foster). The quality of Thai dishes are closer to a fine dining Thai restaurant rather than a quick take out, even though the prices are more than reasonable. An automatic 18% gratuity was added for our party of five, and it's a stiff 12.5% tax in this area. Service was friendly and even though our server gave us a carafe of water, she still personally refilled our glasses when it got near empty. I tend to sweat quite profusely when eating Thai cuisine, and I did so again this time. My wife asked for some more napkins so I could wipe my brow. Our server did one better by bringing over a large wet towel that I used. It wasn't necessary but much appreciated.

Ordering was a breeze and the guys were always open to a conversation or giving suggestions. The restaurant was clean and the meal was always tasty. Just a note but the further away you move from any major city the fewer and harder it is to find great Asian food. The suburb is lucky to have them. The pandemic brought new staffing. Some were pleasant with customers though one lady, a supervisor had the wrong ideas of what customer service and proper etiquette is. Just the basics of my final visit. I took my family for lunch. We ordered lunch specials and a couple extra must-try plates. Two specials hit the table and the third was left waiting for her meal. Unbeknownst to us in the moment, her food was handed to a single patron there for his lunch. The place was filling up with a lunch rush but not so many that had complicated orders. Many were ordering similar lunch specials. Kung pao lunch special was popular. When her order finally arrived the supervisor realized she had given the wrong plate to the customer sitting some tables behind us. Mind you ten minutes had already passed. She quickly went over to him and asked what he had ordered. She then took the plate he was eating from and handed him the fresh plate. He was still holding a half eaten egg roll in his hand. Then she brought the quarter eaten plate and placed it in front of my mother. Before she could leave I stopped her and asked her what she was doing. She simply stated that was her lunch order. I told her she handed my mother someone else's food that they were eating and I watched the whole thing. Why didn't you take that to the back and make a completely new plate of food?! I paid the bill and got the F**k out. That's gross. Also, you gave the other patron new food but cannot do the same for our table?? This place is dead to me. If she could do that, it beckons the question of what else is happening behind the scenes.
