Steakhouse Grill located inside the Strat resort. The restaurant is nice, but it's stuck in between a casual grill and a nice steakhouse. The prices were slightly expensive for the quality of food. The restaurant itself is decorated it very nicely. The waitstaff was very friendly. To start we had the crab and spinach dip, which was fantastic and my favorite thing that we had. My spouse had the ribeye, but said it was mostly fat and not very good. I had the pecan crossed red fish which I liked. I was disappointed with the polenta cake though. If you want a good steak, I would recommend going to the steakhouse that's at the top of the tower. Otherwise, if you want more casual fare, I would highly recommend the Chinese restaurant that's inside the resort. read more

Came to eat here with my husband from earning a free voucher of $100 from the time share presentation that we attended. Upon arriving at the restaurant, you can immediately notice that the ambience although fancy, its not busy at all for a Saturday night. Our server was super nice. She answered all our questions very well. When it comes to the food, you do get complimentary cornbread with butter. It was meh for me. For appetizer, we did the bacon wrapped prawns w/ dirty rice. The prawns were ok. My husband liked the dirty rice. Our main course was the BBQ Platter: 3 slices of brisket, 1 hot link, 1/2 rack of ribs, and burnt ends with a side of coleslaw and bbq baked beans. Over this platter was just okay. Ate a late dinner here on our last night in town. We love trying different steaks and seeing if it can beat our latest "top 3". This one did not make the cut. It was good but not incredible. The grilled shrimp we added were also ok. My husband got the clam chowder and I got the chopped salad. The salad was very large and could have easily been shared. Had to ask the service runner if the order was put in? Server came over and said "oh you did order that..." didn't get comp or a discount. We went there on New Year's Eve, had there amazing special appetizers was bacon wrap shrimp came with a watercress salad the dressing was to much for my taste but shrimp was taste. We were very disappointed that we went to this restaurant with a late night reservation after comedy club, once arriving and sitting at our table , we are told that the menu items that were listed as gluten-free were actually not gluten-free ! One item they explained was mistakenly printed that way and I guess they didn't want to reprint or even mark it out ? the other items they just said they weren't gluten-free, even though on the menu they are listed with a GF ! So we had to get an Uber back to our hotel at 10:00 pm and try to find something to eat ! We started off our meal with the chipotle ceaser salad. The portion was generous, but it was nothing special. I ordered the 16 oz prime rib and was delighted that it was not overcooked. We loved the shareable sides, especially the Mac n Cheese. My partner ordered the short rib, which was also tender. Unfortunately, substitutions are not allowed for the sides that accompany the short rib entree. The cornbread made up for it. It was probably the best cornbread I have eaten - rich, moist, and made with pieces of corn! The restaurant is quite small, but cozy. The music wasn't even one genre-it was all over the place, making it hard to really set an identity. It seemed that the restaurant didn't know who they want to be. The food was just alright. The rolls looked like they would be amazing, but they were not great-they were just doused with butter to mask the odd flavor. The meat was very well done and seasoned so strongly that I had to chug water to get a few bites down. It could just be my taste buds, and not a flaw in the cooking, but based on a few other reviews, I don't think so. Good service, and takeout orders were ready super quickly. My only complaint was that I ordered the side salad w shrimp and the romaine came straight off the stalk. I had to cut it into small salad bites using a terrible little plastic knife! It was challenging to do this inside the constraints of the box it was put in. Also there were only 3 pieces of shrimp, which wouldn't have looked so odd if they were chopped along with everything else. As it was, the salad looked more like a DIY meal box. My mom liked her salad as it looked to be properly cut and served. Food: New York Strip Steak, BBQ Baked Beans, Fried Ribs I am not a huge steak eater, but the New York Strip is my usual go-to. The steak was cooked just as I had requested and was a good portion. It neither blew me away with how good it was or disappointed me, it was honestly just a good average steak that filled me. I did order some BBQ baked beans on the side which were pretty good actually. They were sweet, tangy, and a very generous portion. Someone in my group ordered the fried ribs. It is just deep fried pork, similar to Carnitas. Restaruant: As someone who had never been to the Strat before, finding the restaurant was a little confusing. We had to stop and ask a worker to point us in the right direction. All the signs were for the Top of the World restaurant. Inside it was dimly lit, and only had about 3-4 other tables being occupied (on a Friday night). Our server was attentive, and constantly refilling our drinks. This was a melt-in-your-mouth starter; we really loved it. My main course was the St. Louis Ribs which came with sides of corn and baked beans. The large portion of ribs were meaty and tender with a bbq sauce that was judiciously used and complemented the meat. The corn was tasty as were the slightly sweet bbq beans. The wine list is miniscule but some good ones to choose from. I had glasses of Malbec from Arizona (very good) and Brachetto d'Acqui from Italy (okay). The vibe of the place is more "steakhouse" than "bbq joint" but still relaxed. Our booth was very comfy and our service was attentive and congenial. Menu is very small and I think they change items on it often? A lot of the food photos on yelp aren't even on the menu anymore and I couldn't find any photos of the dishes of the current menu. Seafood Fish Fry 6/10 Batter and the shrimp is good, however the fish was overcooked and very tough to eat. Cornmeal Calamari 8/10 Again their batter is really good here. I also like how they give the tentacles and the rings. Clam Chowder 9/10 Lots of flavor! The clam chowder was one of the best I've had but it is a little on the thicker side. Richard is the BEST!!! He was great with recommendations and explaining things on the menu. I had the St. Louis ribs which were the best ribs Ive had. So tender they fell off the bone when I picked them up. Hubby had the Burbon braised short ribs which were so tender juicy and full of flavor. We got the asparagus and ceaser salad to split both were full of flavor. The asparagus was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was great. All the staff members were awesome. Located on the 1st floor of The Strat, McCall's Whisky Bar is a nice place to grab some drinks and maybe get a bite to eat. I believe there is regular restaurant seating adjacent to the bar. I got to attend a private party, so we had the seating just outside the bar (would be the patio if it was outside). The Bartender was friendly and the appetizers I tried were good. Definitely a little off the regular foot traffic, but that made it a good place to hang with friends and have some drinks. I'll have to go back to try the regular menu. The place is worth checking out and would be a good semi-quiet place to watch a game on their TVs. read more

We came here on a Friday night for a nice dinner before an adult comedy show at the hotel. The menu looked great, so I figured we'd give it a try. The restaurant is located inside of The Strat Hotel, and it's fairly easy to locate once you enter the hotel. I made reservations on the Open Table app the day before our arrival. It was very easy to setup and reserve our table right from my phone. The next day, we decided to push our reservation back an hour, the app made this easy to do without having to call the restaurant.    When we arrived, the dining room was fairly empty, besides us, there were only a few other tables with diners. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. It was a little dim, and the tables were spaced out to allow diners a sense of privacy. The restaurant, and our booth was also nice and clean. Our server was very friendly, but she was a little slow. She answered our questions about the items on the menu. However, my aunt ordered a couple of items that were on the menu, and our server came back a couple of times and told us that they didn't have those menu items available. My aunt was very disappointed, and had to reorder a couple of times, only to be told again that they didn't have what she wanted. The server never refilled our drinks, and we asked her early on for a basket of bread, and she didn't come back with the bread basket until we were almost done with our meal. The food tasted great; however, I do wish the avocado on my salad was a little fresher. I felt the food was reasonably priced for the value we received. I would come back here again in the future. I think they were just understaffed during our visit. This is a great restaurant for couples, as well as for people who want somewhere to eat in a more intimate setting. I had dinner here this weekend with a special someone, and while it was good, it didn't quite blow me away. I ordered the sirloin skewers with chimichurri as my meal (technically an appetizer), and while the chimichurri was excellent, the steak itself was dry and a bit overdone. It came with two small skewers, which was fine since I didn't expect a large portion. My date had the blackened snapper, a generous serving that tasted good. Service was hit or miss--our server Richard was friendly and attentive, but the bread was just dropped off without explanation, so we were left to figure it out ourselves. Not sticky. 2) water tasted good. Tasted like water, no metal taste. 3) waitress was superb. Very nice, personable, professional, attentive. 4) tables were nicely set up. 5) Food dishes were delicious. All of our foods were perfectly cooked. See photos. 6) dessert was superb!
