Blood when I got home - gushing out - almost fainted driving home.

UPDATE: WED 5/14/25 - TWO DAYS AFTER THE HORRIFIC TRIPLE JAB / see photo of extreme bruising and knots! This just happened to me. Been going for over 6 mos. I had 2 bad experiences that I now ask for a red stick or my fav 3 people who were not there today. So I asked for supervisor. I got poked 3x. Both arms. And they wanted to do a 4th adjustment! I said NO! My left arm was throbbing and my right arm had just been poked and they wanted to poke again! By Ashley! Blood on the floor around me, and they even stepped in it, when they were trying to remove everything off of me. They would not pay me full price of my donation - because I refused the 4th poke ! After my left arm was hurting from 2 jabs, and now I was in complete anxiety distress ! Look at the size of the hole in my arm ? It kept bleeding on way home. No ice pack no nothing from them. Would you get poked a 4th time ?! I will NEVER COME BACK. THEY LOST A DONOR today. It happened to my husband too few months back and they paid him the full donation. So their rules are not even consistent with each donor, or professional or at least do THE RIGHT THING TO DO! They reimburse full donation to one person, but not the other ?! Screw this place. And it was with the two head supervisors ! How many times do they have to poke you for it not being a refusal? They're fault for poking the wrong vein, I was told that when the 2nd poke happened, then another poke in my right arm, and I told them that this happened to me with my right arm not being as great as my left, they still chose to poke me - when they knew my history ! Makayla had been my go too, until this. Now ASHLEY / who took over on right arm, made it worse and would not pay me because I refused a 4th jab !!' They knew my last bad experience/ that alone, should have given me full donation amount. But nope / they didn't make it right. Your just a number. They herd cattle. They knew I was hurting. And didn't care to make it right over a measly extra $20! Period. And did you notice they respond to every bad review here / with telling you to complete a form on the "contact us" website/ and then what? It's a joke ! I filled out the form / let's see how they reply to this post - if it's automated and they just don't care!

    This was a week later!!!

Too bad no one since the day this place opened has any idea what to do. Not only was the wait hours to even make it to a bed but to get anyone to hook you up with any knowledge of anything but a bar room dart board for reference doing it. I ended up bruised from finger tips to the top of my arm all over black and blue. Finally they quit and let me leave. This had happened two times previously but this last time was the absolute worst! Not worth the money at all.

This is the wait line just for a bed after already waiting in a line for vitals.

Are State ID and SSN enough for proof for the first time donation. I am an immigrant on visa and work permit?

YEs, I took my ssn and drivers license. That is all they needed, something with a picture ID. Then about 1 1/2 hours later after a series of questions and medical testing you were allowed to give, it was great. Before I left I had the first money in… Read more

How much do you get paid to donate?

Kevin's answer was actually false. For new donors it's $70, up until the 8th donation it's $80, the 9th is $90 and then AFTER that it goes to $20 for the first donation of the week and $50 for the second. So $280 extra dollars a month still, even… Read more

I had surpassed 4 gallons of blood, platelets, white cell and plasma donated before the FDA arbitrarily banned me from donations for life in 1985 because of my sexual orientation. For 38 years donor deferral was based on arbitrary science-denying gender and orientation-based risk assumptions. Very pleased to say We Are Blood operates under new FDA guidance that has been in place since 2023 and relies on assessing individual risk factors rather than making any assumptions about gender orientation or sexual partners. - All potential donors see non-gendered risk assessment/deferral questions when they come to donate. - All potential donors, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, will be asked the same questions and be assessed for blood donation eligibility based on individual risk factors. - The FDA's previous blood donation eligibility criteria based on sexual orientation, which restricted sexually active gay and bisexual men from giving blood, has been eliminated. Initial screening and qualification questionnaire completed, the intake process was quick, careful, caring, and friendly. The donation lounge itself is brightly decorated and open with comfortable chairs and friendly staff. Throughout, great care was taken to verify donor identity and to match to coded donated unit tracking. The whole process took about 40 minutes, including about 20 minutes for the actual donation. I enjoyed some orange juice and a snack afterward and a chat with some volunteers before heading out on my day . Plenty of adjacent free and ADA accessible parking right at the front door. Highly recommended and if you haven't donated in a while because of what were arbitrary restrictions, check back! Things have changed and blood donations are always needed particularly in the summer months.

We showed up on time and checked in at the front desk where they had us complete a thorough health screening. They gave us a free Amy's ice cream voucher and a Halloween themed T-shirt for donating that day. The center is clean, and I was comfortable in my seat. The phlebotomists are friendly and professional. Mine did a great job prepping me and finding my vein; I did not end up with a big bruise or any discomfort afterwards. It only took around 8-10 minutes to complete the process of blood collection. After we finished our donation, they provided us with plenty of snacks and made sure to go over after care instructions. I highly encourage you to donate if you are eligible! One unit of blood can save up to three lives.

Looks like I'm the first to review! I signed up with Beacon Biologics for white blood cell…read moredonation, to help with cancer research. When I got there, I was taken back immediately. Me, the woman in charge, & her coworker were the only ones in the building. Verrrry quiet & all attention was directed to me. Paperwork took most of the time and it was explained very thoroughly before signing. Seeing as this was just my initial appointment, they only did a blood collection of 6-7 vials to test for diseases before I am permitted to donate white blood cells once cleared. The blood collection was taken in a very cushy chair where you're almost laying down. Afterwards, they gave me water and a snack and made sure I was ok. In the end, I was given $25 for the initial appointment. When you do an actual white blood cell donation (which I was told can take up to 3-4 hours!) the payout is a lot more. They also told me they have things like iPads with Netflix, magazines, etc to help keep you occupied during that time. They also gave me a free shirt! They told me that they had been up and running for 2 years but just started accepting clients within the last year. Anywho, the employee whom worked with me was super down to earth and great to talk to & answered all my questions. I'm currently waiting to hear back regarding white blood cell studies now so that I can start donating :) seems like a wonderful facility doing great work!
