Super friendly staff, Lila is incredible but the rest of the staff is lazy and don't work together and will just leave you there if you have an issue or take you off of the machine rather then fixing the needle. I told the girl helping me over and over that hurts and I know where my veins are but they kept poking me past the veins leaving severe bruising for a week plus. read more

This is the worst place to possibly go. They waste hours of your time just to tell you they can't help you after they said they could. I was there 10/19/2023 and told them I did not have my social security card instead I have a paper that says that I have a new one coming. Then they scheduled me an appoint for the next day. Then I go today 10/20/23 and was there for about an hour and a half. I filled out a paper for my social security card, I read the book, I watched the videos, and then they said that I can't donate. So, if I were you I would not come here. read more

Donating at a plasma center in a low income community has its own set of challenges. I can respect the hard work and dedication of staff that work tirelessly to process plasma to eventually save a life. For some I can see how the compensation for their donation is a big staple in their weekly budget. I thank God I'm not in a situation where I need the money from Biomat. With a family member who I love dearly relying on others donation to stay alive as their medication wouldn't be possible without other people taking time out of their schedule to donate this priceless necessity to so many. With that being said I will never again visit Grifol's Biomat center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After checking in at 1:30 pm it seemed pretty mild compared to how busy I have seen it in the past. I completed the pre-screening with no issues and proceeded to the donor que on the donor floor. For the next hour and a half I observed multiple employees standing around, joking, laughing, throwing things at each other. I was to the point I was ready to walk out. I waiting patiently for 20 more minutes and was finally sat down. During my donation multiple people were growing agitated at the topic of conversation 2 particular staff members were using. The topic of road head, "cumming hard", "in the butt" "that's gay" we're just some of the gruesome topics yelled across the donor floor. A donor sitting next to me was questioning why his blood was being tested that day (this is mandatory for donors every 4 months) this particular male staff member stated "to make sure your not sticking your stick where it doesn't belong" he proceeded to make other anti gay comments and gestures. Multiple donors were made very uncomfortable by this comment and it shocked me since this particular male staff member has been working there the past few years. After voicing that particular behavior was unprofessional and shouldn't be used around donors I quickly got a reply of "haha they won't fire me because they are so desperate for help since Dakota keeps pissing everyone off" I was disgusted. The situation was obviously not over. When this same male staff member came to disconnect me from the plasmapheresis machine he grabbed my IV needle which was still set in my arm and "dug" before removing which is not a common practice when removing a Plasmapheresis line from a donor. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. I was quick to alert management about my experience but had no help what so ever in correcting the situation. I will not return to this donation center ever. I would strongly caution anyone new who is looking for a quiet, safe, welcoming donor environment. This used to be my go to place for donating, but the lack of staff and how long it takes to actual start donating I can't recommend it in its current state. As of right now there are 15 donors and only two phlebotomists working. The person in front of me in line just walked out due to how long we have been sitting here and I had plenty of time to start this Yelp account. I put up with the wait times this last month because there are some fantastic technicians here (Jeri and Glenda), but the wait times have become unreasonable even for me. I will go somewhere else in February and try here again in March or April to see if the manning issues have been fixed. It's a shame because the facility and location are nice, but the pay or management must be terrible here to have such issues with keeping staff. read more

Very unprofessional stemming from the manager Lisa who models a horrible disrespect for donors. Lisa bullied me and was extremely rude and sarcastic - she doesn't know me from Adam! I am sure they probably violated their own procedures and NO ONE has contacted me about it so how much does this company even care about anything? Crazy horrible experience. FOLLOW UP: After "Courtney M" replies on here with her "concern" I wrote her a detailed email asking her not to give me a dismissive canned response which she promptly did! Courtney M seem like possibly a bot/canned comment to feign concern. By this response, I conclude this company is gargabe. That's why they treat donors the same way. read more

I use to love coming here, but from the rudeness of the staff, skipping donors, staff ignoring lights and buzzers on the machines, staff not listening when needing the needle to be adjusted, and at least a 2 and a half hour donation time for return donors, Im done. I previously wrote a positive review and it was well deserved. However, today, I am extremely disappointed. I stopped donating a while ago because the system was never able to read my fingerprints so all of the questions had to be asked verbally.Noone seemed to be able to fix it, even after redoing the prints. But, I received a text message stating that there was a bonus on the second donation when donating between April 11-April 17. So, it was a great bonus and I donated once this week-just fine. Now, today, Easter of all days, I went back in as today I would receive the bonus and it was the last day to donate before it expired. Well, the receptionist helped me to redo my prints again using different fingers, and this time it worked. So far, so good. But then, I was called to do my health check and the same receptionist did my finger print, weight, etc. Then, she told me that my hematocrit was too low. I take 2 iron pills daily and eat large amounts of iron rich foods, so I know that it had to be incorrect. I asked if she could try again using a new sample, which she could not. I then told her it was the last day for my bonus and asked if I could still receive if I came back within 3 days. She quickly replied-NO, they won't do it. So, after driving 30 minutes one way to get there and spending 45 minutes trying to get logged in before I even did the health check ..all on Easter Sunday, I am simply out of the bonus! It is very wrong. Not to place any blame, but the way the finger prick was done and the blood collected and then tested was not done as it should have been. That would take too long to explain on a review. I could tell that the person doing it was fairly new. I have never ever had this problem and I know that my hematocrit was fine. There was no possibilty of it being low. Very disappointing and wrong to not allow a bonus or a retry because of inaccurate processing. Unfortunately, I am going to delete my positive review based on this instance. read more

I just got back from the weirdest experience ever and did not donate, I walked out. I had called months ago and had been thinking about it and today had the time. When I had called, they said nothing about a social security card. I drove home to get it and went back. I swear it was as if no one knew what they were doing behind the counter. When I had first gotten there, there was a man having a very loud conversation with one of the workers and I could not hear, and no one asked them to move aside fro their conversation. In addition, when I returned a lady in a white jacket who did not have Dr. on her badge was speaking too fast and said there would be a quiz on one of the pages, which was also not explained when I had called first. The debit card that I would have used for the supermarket seemed like donating an organ to set up. Such a waste of time. I wish I would have been able to donate to help someone who needed it. read more

Awful experience. I was passed over numerous times. They were sitting people as fast as they had chairs, but they weren't paying attention. A gentleman was stuck before I was and he wasn't even in the back area till after I was seated. I was seated at 600 and was not hooked up until 650. This is ridiculous read more

Awful experiences. The first time I was in Megan stuck me in the wrong vein in my left arm. Wendy re-stuck my other arm & told me that and said next time tell them to use the vein on the right side of my left arm and point it out to them. She said the center vein is too thin for their big needles. Afterward my left arm bruised up for over a week. It was embarrassing. I went back, got Megan again, pointed out which vein to use and told Megan what Wendy said. Megan ignored the instructions and stuck the wrong vein again! Two others including Wendy adjusted it in and out pushing and pulling it. It was painful. This time I refused to be re-stuck in my other arm since I relayed Wendy's instructions exactly as she told me to and pointed out the correct vein to use and was totally ignored. Megan smiled as she pushed the needle in the wrong vein any way. Megan defines condescension. For my own sake, I better not go back. My well being was not a concern. read more
