Maybe 3 1/2 stars. They're fairly new. I think they opened in late October 2020. So, as with any new establishment, there are some service issues. The times I've donated they've appeared to be understaffed, so everything takes a little longer. The first time you donate it will take about 3 hours because you'll need to complete a medical history form and a physical exam. After that, donations usually take around 90 minutes to 2 hours... This depends on how fast your blood flows, how busy they are, and I would also say, the experience level of the Phlebotomist. The first time I donated, the needle came loose and started bleeding all over the chair. It wasn't painful, just embarrassing. They had to continue the process on my other arm, which I wasn't too thrilled about. I can't remember what exactly went wrong. The second time, I think I had a rookie. She wasn't able to find my vein and had to reinsert the needle several times. That started to get painful and it left a sizable bruise. There was a point during the donation process where she took out the manual to the plasmapheresis machine and started reading it in front of me, which didn't give me much confidence. I contemplated not going back. The third time went smoothly, no issues, it was good. Despite all of this, I still think the place has potential. You can make some decent money and they have coupons almost every month. I think these issues will get resolved with more hires and the longer they're open. read more

Been going for a few months and had zero issues. The process was good, all the people were good, all in all a positive experience. Then out of nowhere they change the tattoo policy. BioLife did, NOT the state of Nebraska. Tattoos now have to be a certain distance from the veins. Really? So now I'm going somewhere else which is a pain, but I signed up to do this and im not stopping because BioLife decided tattooed people aren't quality donors. Lousy move guys read more

I waited 4 hrs for a donation. People are nice though. They need more nurses and donation stations

First, I was deferred for a "bruise." Then it became "odor." Then suddenly it was my "appearance." The explanation changed every time I asked a question. When I asked for clarification, Tammy didn't provide answers. She immediately called a manager. When I asked for Tammy's name, she refused to give it despite wearing a name tag. That is not medical screening. That is avoiding accountability. Let's be very clear. I am the one voluntarily sitting in that chair. I am giving you my body and my trust for a measly $40. I am not asking for a favor. When I returned the following week, it escalated. I couldn't even check in before being pulled aside. I had been flagged before arrival for a lice check. I was explicitly told I did not have lice. So the justification shifted again. This time to "fungus" and dandruff. This did not feel medical. It felt like fishing for any excuse to get rid of me. Then I was forced to sit through another conversation with management. Wade talked down to me and preemptively stated that "no one is discriminating" despite the fact that I hadn't raised that issue. If discrimination isn't happening, it is strange that it needed to be addressed at all. The entire experience was inconsistent, degrading, and deeply unprofessional. It was serious enough that I sought legal guidance to understand whether this kind of treatment is even permissible for a facility presenting itself as a medical center. If you want to keep your dignity while selling your plasma for grocery money, donate somewhere else. Bathrooms smell pretty bad and are horribly unsanitary for a "medical center" read more

Most of the staff here is rude and on top of that don't know what they're doing. The place is not clean or sanitary, bathrooms are usually a mess and the beds typically smell of bad B/O. I've left here bruised, had the needle literally yanked out of me, or even had my finger pricked wrong. I think there probably needs to be better training across the board. read more

I would only recommend if you have patience. I've tried to donate 3 times now. The first time was my fault; dang iron level was a point under their cut off. The second time they lost my file from the first attempt to start donating. Today was my third attempt. I've donated at three different plasma centers before so I know the routine. It has never been an issue to be on your phone while reviewing the new donor packet. It has always been a rule, at least the other three centers, that you're not able to be on your phone while donating with the needle in your arm. Today I was on the phone while reviewing the new donor questions. I was told to leave and that I would be deferred for today for being on my phone. Now this is where the on the floor is key. There was someone on the floor pumping their blood out for plasma pulling that was on the phone. Make it make sense. The person that deferred me said she knew and saw the mess on the floor. How are you supposed to be a sterile environment with the donor floor looking like that? read more

Just started going and so far so bad. Forgot my photo id at home and just needed to ask to reschedule. Got told to sit down in a waiting area and then got forgot about. No one's ever at the phones so don't bother calling. read more

Super under staffed. Could be no line and still longer than other places. Not enough assistance in front, nurses or technicians. They also push around responsibilities prolonging peoples detaching to in other colors stations. I was done donating for24 minutes still waiting to be detached. read more

I was really impressed by the staff here. They were incredibly patient and really seemed to care about me health/safety. It was my first time donating and Al thought it took awhile I was happy with the service. I highly recommend donating if you're able but make sure you make plenty of time in your schedule to do so. read more

I've donated once. I've tried 3 times. The first time I wasn't aware I needed my social security card till the day before my appointment and since I recently moved I didn't have my social security card on me at the time and it was a 4 hour drive (one way) to get it so I didn't have time to get it before the appointment so I had to cancel. The second time I was in the building for 3 HOURS. THREE. I was skeptical about donating again because of how long it took. But I decided it was probably because it was my first time so it makes sense that there's more hoops to jump through and such. So I decided to set up another appointment. I regret it. I showed up for my appointment 5 minutes early and sat for over half an hour waiting for the nurse to see me, why they said I need to see the nurse I have no idea, and there was 3 people in front of me the whole time I was sitting there. At about 25 minutes of sitting there someone who was already sitting when I got in line got up and left because she had enough of the waiting. So at 40 minutes of sitting and waiting, they hadn't even taken my vitals to know if I could donate, I decided I was done waiting because by the time I got done donating it would be at least 2 hours of being in the building when I was told it would be 1 hour. I will NOT be trying again. read more

If I could choose a -10 I would !! Awful experience, I have donated at other centers and have NEVER had an issue. The "nurse" at BioLife Plasma is on a power trip. Went in as first time donor to this new company in Omaha, not a problem with the first encounters- doing paperwork- verifying who I am- did all the normal testing- still no issue everyone very pleasant and fun to work with. THEN I went in the office with the "nurse" asked if I ate- yes I did-apparently not enough for her- automatically denied okay fine- what meds do u take? I'm getting my note- attempted to hand her my phone wrong thing to do-- she was not touching my phone - sorry forgot covid rulesapologized . she's not having it- denied to finish exam- " I asked do I have to start 1st time appointment again? (keep in mind already been there about 90 minutes) yes- we are done here. And you rolled your eyes! We are done! WhatI leave talked to the nice girls at the counter- didn't have much to say - soooo I left. Called back the next day to re- schedule - NO can do!!??? i am PERMANENTLY deferred!!! The "nurse" said I yelled at her- absolutely did not happen, she is lying. I've donated at another center (octapharma, both the one on center and the one in South O) before. This is my third time donating at biopharma. I appreciate the covid precautions the center is doing. This place seems a little cleaner and quite than other centers I have been to. Staff is kind and helpful. What made me want to write this review was Wendy! She is extremely competent, great attention to detail, and very kind. It can be nervewracking donating plasma and getting poked/seeing your own blood. I have had some sketchy experiences at other centers where I felt like the process was rushed, which can be scary and nauseating when you're dealing with needles. Everyone at this center so far has taken the time needed to do a great job. Make sure to drink enough water, and take extra calcium- plasma donation depletes blood calcium. No complaints! I'm really happy with my experience here so far. read more
