So the gentleman asked me if I have my social security card, because i havent been there in the last 6 months, u said no then he asked if i had my W2 i said yes, I look up my W2 on my ADP app and I show him that it shows my last 4 of my social he says no I need to see the whole social and if I was more aware that since I haven't been there in the last 6 months I would have brought my whole social security card. You guys should have that on the website; I was not aware of that. If you guys would have said that on the website to bring social security card if you haven't visited the last 6 months I wouldn't have wasted my time to drive all the way down here for nothing I would have had everything prepared. I am a very happy donor. The place was busy, but worth the time. I really appreciate the informative nature, the patient staff and the no BS approach. I tried HemaCare and was VERY disappointed. Never an appointment, lack of transparency!! I am so glad I followed my instincts and contacted Grifols. I went in with a friend, who I referred and they took him the same day. This is the place to be in the plasma donation world. I took off a star because the lobby has two JUNK snack machines, no water or juice available for donors. Completely inefficient. Showed up 15min early for my appt, and did a lot of waiting. They don't allow you to do the questionnaire before you arrive (like the Red Cross does). Waited 50min after my appt time before they even did the finger prick to see if I was eligible to donate. Mentioned at check in AND later at the blood draw that I regularly donate blood with the Red Cross and that my husband referred me, no one said anything UNTIL I got in the room for the physical 40min later (1.5hr after appt time) when they said 1) if I donated blood within 4mos I wasn't eligible and 2) my husband donated at a different location so he wouldn't get the referral money unless I went there instead. Why wasn't this anywhere on the website or mentioned by either person before I wasted over an hour of my time to find out I wasn't even eligible?!! read more

If I could give a zero star rating I would. Consistantly have an awful experience here. They want donors, yet they don't keep enough staff to handle to donors that do come in. I always call ahead to make an appointment, and **multiple** times I have shown up and am told there is not enough staff and to try again another time. The $40 payout is not worth the gallons of gas I have to waste driving here to be turned away again and again. I don'y know if it is poor organization or poor planning, but it really sucks, especially for the people who really want to help. The staff needs better training. The few times I have been allowed to donate, the phlebotomists have been rude and rushed. Really unfortunate for a company that is supposedly all about helping people and providing a good experience. read more

I'm a new Plasma Donor, today was my third donation. I have only had a good experience the first time I donated with Dany on June 22 She was really good hit the vein fast and was done in less than an hour with my donation. I came back on Thursday June 25 my second donation. The tech either missed or poked through and ruptured my vein because I was having a hard time getting my blood returned. She and another tech tried to reposition the needle several time...finally gave up and poked my other arm to be able to return my blood I Was there for over an hour, but I was compensated so it was fine. I had to ice and apply warm compress to both my arms for just under a week. I decided to give this place one more chance especially because of the $100 payment to new donors that started July 1. I made an appointment and came back today....same freaking issue I had last time and inexperienced tech poked me and wasn't able to stick the vein she tried to reposition the needle with no success she then had Ernesto come over and try to reposition the needle....again like they did on my second visit. Just like last time it didn't work! Fabiola then came over and said she's going to have to stick my left arm...which I still had a bruise from June 29th when they stuck me twice. She went ahead and poked me....but apparently they had gone over the time permitted to return me my blood! So now I didn't get my blood back! And I'm out $100 dollars for this donation and I again have to care for both my arms that they stuck needles in! This place has really been a horrible experience! Out of 3 times I've been here, 2 times I've had to leave with both my arms bandaged up and once without my blood being return! I wanted to be a donor to help people....but this is just Ridiculous! A lot of the Staff is inexperienced in the way that they poke you with the needles. Don't get me wrong they are friendly and nice....they have never been rude to me but I wouldn't recommend any new donors if they have to go through what I have just experienced! Both my arms hurt and I can already fell them starting to bruise!! Wasted more than an hour and wasn't compensated at all and now I have some kind of mark in my file that my blood wasn't returned to me. Fabiola was nice and said she will be here on July 4th and to personally ask for her, but 2 bad experiences out of 3 those are not good odds. I'll have to really think about if I want to go through this crap again to possibly walk out with no money just bruises bandaged up arms and pain! Update: I received my payment which was a nice surprise, but still don't think I'll be going back because of the 2 bad experiences I've had in a row. read more

The screaner Dalia- she kept walking back and fourth . We were left without anyone screening for about 15 mins. "Understaff" is always the excuse. But I don't think it had anything to do with being understaffed. There was 4 ppl waiting. I'm standing and waiting to be called because I was next and they called someone else. When I told her I was next, she said it's because I scanned someone else before you. My appointment was at 8:30 the other person's was at 8:45. I like the location but they have one employee that just seems to have an attitude problem. Every time I check in she has a new procedure and I seem to always be doing the wrong thing. This time I came in and signed in per usual and sat down because my appointment wasn't until 4pm. I noticed that many people were being called up but I waited until 4:05 to walk up and see if my barcode could be scanned in and I noticed that the the sign in sheet was gone and she was scanning a person that had just walked in the door. I asked if she could please sign me in because I'd been there since 3:27 and she gave me attitude and said that I had to wait as there were other people before me and I said that the list was gone now and she was a scanning a person that had just walked in and she didn't like that I guess. Her name is Lin or Lynne with long hair. This has been my 10th donation and my 5th time encountering her. read more

You can donate plasma here and they pay you. Its very clean the bathrooms are always clean to. Just remember that if you are a first time donor you will be there for 2-3 hours due to have to going through the first time donor process and paperwork. And for return donors its really easy you go in on your booked appointment, fill out the survey and then you can go back and donate its pretty cool to see the process of the machine. You know you are really helping out a good cause by donating plasma as they create use this to create life saving medicine for those with rare and life threatening illnesses. I'm terribly disappointed in a place that, despite the men's room being filthy, was otherwise clean and comfortable. Their manager, a man named Perry, is openly hostile to inquiries and may actually be the reason behind some of the grumbling I've heard from employees -- employees who are overworked and sometimes working on autopilot (their words). (One employee had worked 100 hours over the past week.) I liked the staff, they were friendly and courteous, but being on autopilot or being overtired means care may suffer. I only observed one donor experiencing an emergency and requiring a nurse, but I myself suffered excessive bleeding and bruising from care that was okay, but not as good as it should have been. I trace this back to Perry, who doesn't seem to have the temperament or professionalism necessary to manage employees or donors in a healthcare facility. A shame. Two stars instead of one because the rest of the staff is truly trying. read more

Staff is very friendly. My first appointment I was there for a very long time, as expected. My second time wasn't as bad, but the wait on my last visit was too much. I scheduled my appointment at 6:45 am trying to get it before work, I was taken to the back at 7:20 am with two people still ahead of me waiting to be started. Ended up leaving at 7:35 am without being helped. If they are going to start early in the morning, they should think about getting more staff if staffing is a problem then don't schedule so many people at once read more

So all of the staff except for 1 person who I won't call out because I don't want to be responsible for someone getting in trouble or losing their job, they're not THAT bad, just rude and I think it has to do with the fact that this location ALWAYS overbooks people. With that said the rest of the staff hustles and is pretty friendly considering. My issue is that once they started requiring that you make an appointment and deduct 5 dollars for being late they have the nerve to run at least 45 minutes late ALL the time. So what should take an hour and a half can take up to 3 hours. It gets pretty frustrating. And you can tell that the poor technicians are overworked but they works as fast as they can. Management really needs to fix their scheduling because they're about to start losing customers. read more

I have been donating to this place since last November and it has become increasingly short staffed and the wait is usually over 2 hours now for them to take blood. I had am appt today at 215 and it is 4 and they haven't started taking blood yet. They used to be really nice and friendly, but every time they switch up their check in procedures and have issues they take it out on us. I came to my appointment in time but because now they require you to also use the fingerprint machine to check in and it wasn't working properly for me and a few others, the lady calls me over and says I missed my appointment and they had to reschedule me. I told her I checked in on time but the machine wasn't working. Instead of checking out the machine or asking more details about what was going on I was told well you're still late. I came back at my rescheduled time, same issue with the machine, luckily got it to work. But still left a sour taste in my mouth that instead of trying to fix the issue with the machine I'm basically called a liar about being on time. Another gentleman was having the same issue and someone actually came to help him at the machine. Also they have a new policy that if you "miss" an appointment they charge you $5, don't understand why i should be penalized for your machines not working. This is not how you treat people that donate plasma to save lives. read more

After 18 months of dedicated donations, i am reaching my breaking point. While I find the staff (once inside the center) is incredibly helpful and pleasant, the scheduling of appointments is about as lame as can be. Frustrating since the appointment platform is always down and no one ever answers the phone. No one ever calls back. Recently my donation appointment turned into a 6 hour fiasco because a nurse was not on duty. Actually this happened twice within 10 days! Hopefully managment will read this review and get back to me with corrrective action. read more

They don't answer their phones, the laboratories and doctors they use are bottom of the barrel, your test results are never on time which takes away from the experience of helping you and others, they're always understaffed which create longer wait times and processing times and compensation for your plasma donation is minimal at best so if you're looking for a plasma center that only cares about your donation and not about you then Grifols is for you read more

Great staff. Your first visit will be at least 3 hours long, but that is expected because you have to go through a physical, read all the possible side/adverse effects and answer a kiosk 60+ questionnaire. You also have to have your blood checked out and all of your vitals need to be checked out. You also have to take a quiz with an RN on the information you read and this is also a time to ask any and all questions that you may have. Don't go here for the first time and get upset or in patient because it is taking a long time. Remember you're DONATING with an incentive... All in all after your first visit, all other visits are smooth and quick. Also the staff here is great and they do their best to answer and help out in any way they can. read more

I've been coming for over a year. Staff is great. Very efficient. I only have one issue and it's not on the frontline staff it's on the people working on how appointments are made and they are not honored. As short staffed as they are more walk ins than appointments come and the appointments for said time don't get helped when the walk ins who came whenever get helped. I make an appointment for a reason to guarantee my spot and some guy who walks in before me gets helped because "first come first serve" the higher ups should change it to APPOINTMENT ONLY no exceptions because the staff works harder and it's very stressful for them and having us wait is not fair. read more

YOUR FIRST TIME VISIT: You'll sign in at the front desk, give them your necessary documents, and take a seat then have your name called. You'll then be poked on your finger with a baby needle for blood sampling, as well as have your vitals and weight taken. After, you'll be asked to take a seat again. At some point you'll be called in by a nurse, she'll take a urine sample from you, and ask many questions as well as have you watch an educational video about plasma. After, the nurse will assist you to a kiosk in the front lobby where you'll be asked to scan your fingerprint and answer several more questions via a touch screen. Once you're done, you'll be called to the back where the real action begins.. the plasma donation lab. They'll have you seated in a waiting area, and you'll hear your name being called through a radio. You'll walk to the back side of the lab, where you'll be asked to sign some paperwork, then you'll be seated at one of the plasma collecting machines and a phlebotomist will shortly arrive and prep you up for the donation. You'll spend about an hour actually donating the plasma. Once you're done, you'll walk to the back window and receive your prepaid debit card by one of the techs. Keep in mind, the first visit always takes the longest (4-5 hours long). The 2nd, 3rd, 4th Visit... And So On: Your wait time will be WAY less. You sign in, answer the kiosk questions, and wait to be called by a technician that will sample your blood and take your vitals. Once you're good to go, you can walk to the plasma donation lab in the back and expect to be hooked up to a machine rather promptly. The current donation fees are: $75 first time $50 second, third, and fourth time $75 fifth time FYI, bring a phone charger, headphones, and water. Eat lots of iron to keep your hematocrit within range, like spinach or broccoli. They'll send you home if your hematocrit is low. Also, plenty of parking and super clean facility. Called the number for the local BioMat in the San Fernando Valley. The number is different from Grifols but it is the same answering system and options. These numbers are also different from those on their website ...all ring back to one answering system. Been calling most of the day ...nobody picks up. I notice they reply to Yelpers with an 855 toll free number to contact ....I did that ...they ONLY deal with concerns of patients that are experiencing issues medically and are not a customer service center...or anything like that.
