I bought a Groupon and was excited to have my carpet cleaned, but my experience with the owner left a bad impression. I know the rules of Groupon are "no changes;" however, emergencies arise and exceptions can be made IF the business owner is willing. The owner of Biosteam was unwilling to accommodate my emergency as I unfortunately had to undergo an unexpected surgery. This owner raised his voice, was extremely agitated at my request to adjust the date of my carpet cleaning, and complained like a total unprofessional at how much money he was losing as a result of all the Groupons that were sold. Number #1 My request to move the date of my carpet cleaning was not that unreasonable Number #2 I do not care about your profit & loss- it is your business, not mine and if you cannot handle the volume of Groupon you should not have participated. Do not complain to me that you are losing money on Groupon. Number #3 Do not make me feel like a criminal because somehow by me using a Groupon that I paid for, I am somehow contributing to your business' losing money or stealing your profit margin. How dare you! Number #4 The unprofessional-ism of the owner was really uncalled for. The agent that came to clean the carpet did an outstanding job and at least he was awesome and totally professional. If you decide to use this company, you will probably have very clean carpets when the service is clean, but you should be aware that if anything goes wrong and you need customer service, based on my experience, you probably will NOT get it. I liked the results of my carpet, but the professionalism of the owner leaves me searching for better because I cannot reward greedy owners that treat customers like criminals. read more

Super personable, we went through the house, I pointed out the places that needed attention and he was on it, explained the process and what to do after he left (heat on, fans, windows open). I planned to clean the carpets before the baby arrived, or at least before she crawled. Well, it didn't happen until she was already steadily walking around! Third child... better late than never? Awhile ago I bought a Groupon to get it done. I really liked the fact that they use only natural cleaners, not chemicals. That's important when your children spend a lot of time playing games and rolling around on the floor! Sal came to do the job mid-morning. He was super-friendly, quick and efficient. I pointed out some trouble spots -- marker stains, spilled milk stains, generally dirty areas due to lots of traffic... After only about an hour, our area rug and 3 bedrooms looked fantastic! I was very impressed with their service and professionalism. But, what gets them the full 5 stars is their honesty and integrity. We wanted to have the main floor carpets done. Salvadore was very practical in his assessment to only do the primary areas. This saved us quite a bit on the bill and truly highlighted what we actually needed done, rather than what we thought. That sort of customer service is more rare than unicorn tears these days, so it completely brightened our day. In terms of quality, definitely no complaints. The high traffic areas still look good 3 months later and none of the spots have returned like they often do. So, I feel as though we got value and quality. I purchased a Yelp Coupon here for them to clean my carpet for $100. They did a great job. I originally tried to clean the carpets in my apartment myself renting the Rug Doctor. Well it did a pretty good job of making the stains MUCH MORE NOTICEABLE. So I ended up find this company from Yelp. The carpets look good, and the employee was knowledgeable. The only thing was that he was late, but I was not in a hurry to be anywhere, so it did not bother me. However, please be sure to keep your day open just in case the carpet cleaner is lagging. read more

WOW - what an amazing transformation. BioSteam Carpet Cleaning did an awesome job. I have had the carpets cleaned before by "professionals", but they have never ever looked this great. I cannot say enough good things about this company and the owner, Sal. I originally looked into environmentally friendly cleaning with no harsh chemicals as I have two young daughters and quite horrific rugs the owners of our rental refused to replace. The service was wonderful, with results better than expected, on-time, detail-oriented, super friendly and professional service with a very positive vibe throughout. At our last house, we had our rugs cleaned every 4 - 6 months in the highest traffic areas (they were white, you can imagine) and it was a godsend every time he came and left with our house feeling clean and bright. After cleaning our last rental upon vacating, I contacted him to get a copy of our receipt and he called me from a pay phone from out of the country where he had gone on a last-minute family emergency and there was no phone service in a very rural area. That was above and beyond, and says a lot about Sal, and his character. Now we are in a new house, and Sal not only cleaned this house before we moved in, but was just over to help spot clean a few rooms before some guests arrived in town. He has always been prompt and courteous but that is an understatement compared to the care he brings to his trade, the efficiency of his products and level of service he and his company truly provides. I would give it more stars if possible, definitely worth giving him a call and even thinking about ongoing maintenance for a home -- not just before you move in or out. Depending on the weather, the rugs will be damp for several hours, and yes, sometimes it takes a few days to completely dry if it is cold, damp or rainy as it is often in Half Moon Bay. Sal has also brought in huge fans to help dry out a room, and it is recommended to have the service in the morning on a sunny day if at all possible! If not, do be patient and tread lightly while the rugs dry out. Highly, highly recommended! read more

I was delighted that they use natural products and no chemicals with toxic fumes and residue. Guy booked the appt. He was friendly and accommodating. His partner Sal came to clean the carpets. Sal arrived on time, he was professional, fair and friendly. I had a bit more carpet to clean than the allotted 400 sq ft. on the voucher. He calculated the area and showed me the estimate before starting. He discounted the extra by 50% just like the original deal. What a bonus. Sal and his helper were efficient, polite, and thorough. Just had our carpets done today and I am impressed! With two dogs (one elderly pup with occasional accidents), and a messy 10yr our carpets were in tough shape. I have to say that this is the first time I am 100% happy with the carpet cleaning work done in my house. I had it cleaned professionally a few times before with different companies, but I was never impressed. I like BioSteam Carpet cleaning for the following reasons: - The carpet on the heavy traffic area was lightened up. It is as clean as the other area. - The carpet is fluffy and almost like new after the cleaning. - The technician moved all the light furniture such as chairs, stools, and area rugs without me asking him. - Quote was reasonable. I paid $150 for my 1200sq town house. I had a lot of furniture. Kitchen, 2 1/2 bathrooms, and living rooms are not carpeted area. The price is for deep cleaning and it includes stairways.
