Never have trouble getting an appointment. Vivi is my favorite tech but I've used 3 or 4 and they've all been good

I have been coming to this nail salon for years, and for the most part I've had good experiences. The nail technicians here are very talented, especially when it comes to nail art and intricate designs. Unfortunately, my experience today was one of the worst I've had. I went in for a pedicure and initially asked the technician to apply nail stickers to my toes. She advised against it since I wasn't getting gel polish, which I understood and agreed with. Instead, I asked if she could paint my toenails a darker pink and simply add a small heart design. I believe there was a miscommunication because the technician told me to wait, but she never returned. My toenails were left with only clear polish, and I waited approximately 15-20 minutes before realizing no one was coming back. At that point, I had to leave. Before leaving, I calmly explained to the owner that I believed there had been a misunderstanding. I told her I had explained what I wanted to the technician, but there may have been a language barrier. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, I was asked why I didn't say something sooner, even though I had already explained the situation. I felt the responsibility was shifted onto me rather than the salon taking accountability for the miscommunication. The owner then asked me to come back later that day so they could finish my pedicure. I rearranged my schedule, picked up my son, and returned to the salon. Having to come back was already an inconvenience, but I wanted to give them the opportunity to make it right. This time, I again requested a darker pink polish with a simple heart and a few polka dots. After the service was completed, I was surprised to be charged an additional fee for the design. Considering I had to return because my original service was left unfinished due to the salon's mistake, I don't believe it was appropriate to charge me extra. What disappointed me most wasn't the design fee itself--it was how the situation was handled. There was no ownership of the mistake, I was made to feel responsible for the miscommunication, I had to return to have the service completed, and then I was charged extra for the correction. I've been a loyal customer for years, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Good customer service isn't about never making mistakes it's about taking responsibility and making things right when they happen. Unfortunately, I don't feel that happened here, and because of this experience, I can no longer recommend this salon if this is how customer concerns are handled. read more

I came in for a drop-in appointment, asking for a regular mani-pedi (no gel). They were able to accommodate me immediately, but I felt like they were rushing my service. They did both my mani and pedi at the same time (I was the only person getting both services done simultaneously). I got the sense that since I was not spending money on a nail service that was more pricey, that I wasn't really worth their time. Got me in and out in less than 30 minutes. The experience wasn't relaxing but the job was done. The pedicure was super nice and lasted a while, but my manicure only lasted one day (I'm usually able to get a regular manicure to last for 4-5 days). read more

Trina is AMAZING! She never disappoints, and she understands what her customers like. I usually come in and ask for dip powder nails in specific colors I see on Pinterest, but my most recent appointment, I just asked her to do whatever she thinks would be best... and I LOVE my nails. The shape and color are perfect for me! They look so clean and polished, but subtle. When my nails start growing, it will not be as noticeable with this nude color. This is definitely a staple look I'll be asking for again in the future. P.S. I believe the dip powder color was B25. read more

Got gel-x nails done here for my cousins wedding. Demi did my nails and she was very patient and detailed with everything. She did nail my pinky once tho :( it was small so it's not a big deal but for those that are sensitive, definitely keep that in mind. For pedicure, Joe did a wonderful job. My toes look so cute. Overall, both services took about 1.5 hrs total. This place is super busy so if you don't have a reservation beforehand, you'll have to wait at least an hour or more to get a walk in or may not even get one at all. read more

I thought it was strange when she was using tools on me that were not directly out of an autoclaved pouch but I wanted to give benefit of the doubt... however, I then watched her go directly from me to the next client with no sanitizing. 2 other people I went with watched the exact same thing happen with their nail techs. read more

Came here for my wedding and left super happy! Photos turned out great. I never get my nails done so I don't have a ton of reference as far as pricing but I loved how everything turned out. 3 others from my wedding came with me and loved theirs as well. My only complaint (which is not a complaint but instead was hilarious) was that I kept asking advice and was told "whatever you want". They did recommend gel toe nail polish since it was my wedding so thank you! They were incredible fast and professional. Will be back for my next event! read more

Went here with my friend on a Friday afternoon with no appointment and we got sat pretty quickly. The place was busy, so we were super surprised that we got in within 5 minutes. I was recommended to come here since they do pedicures and manicures at the same time so you're not there forever and I left super happy with my nails! I called the morning of to see if gel X was available and got an appointment for 12:30PM for a full set and basic pedicure ($22). I waited for a few minutes and then got my pedicure started right away. I'm not sure who did my pedicure but she took her time and it turned out fine. Kayla did an amazing job on my gel X set though! She was very meticulous and listened to what I wanted. She was able to copy my inspo pic very well! It's $60 for the full set, with my design it became $78. It's been 4 days and I've had no issues- it seemed like these nails will last awhile! Overall, I'm happy with the experience. They are very busy, so an appointment is recommended although I did see a lot of walk-ins for the 1.5 hours I was there. The receptionist is very good at estimating wait time and scheduling though! Looove this salon, they took off my gel super delicately without damaging my natural nail (a common problem I have with other salons) and they took their time with my gel mani. There were no spilled or lifted edges, even for the next month. The pedicures they have look great, they seem to use a nail file on an electric drill to get rid of calluses? LOL. Wow! I went to Biotone to get the Gel X (or whatever the crossover gel is called). I got Ombré Gel X done on my fingers, and plain old regular gel on my toes. The girls were so sweet even though they had to stay late to finish. They never complained and were so nice to me, despite the late hour. It has been almost 8 weeks since I had these done, and not one nail has lifted or shown signs of being old (other than growing out and having to cut them down, which I know doesn't look great). I'm usually popping these suckers off by now, even when I get a acrylic. I just cannot believe how long the manicure has lasted! Almost 8 weeks and counting! We took a two week trip to Hawaii in the middle of this where we spent a lot of time in the ocean and the hottub, plus I'm really hard on my nails in general. Still - a perfect mani and pedi! I'm so impressed. I've gone to Biotone before and been very happy with their work, but this time I am thrilled! read more

This is a FINE nail salon with fair prices, easy parking, and a quick service. But on the other hand there's no frills, bells, or whistles (e.g. no relaxing decor, no music, no videos playing in the background, no ambiance), which wasn't nearly as important to me as paying a reasonable price, good service, being able to get in/out quickly.... Yesterday, I came with my mom and we had an appointment. My mom got her pedi done before even starting mani and others were walk-ins getting manis done. I got gel x and pedi which was going great at first. The lady who did my gel x felt rushed, and used a nail that fell on the ground that she couldn't find for a few mins. I brushed it off. Then she started drilling on my cuticles and as you can see in the picture, she was cutting them to a point where they started to bleed. I could tell she knew but kept the same speed. Got to leave another review for Biotone. Ever since Megan left (before pandemic), my nail technicians have been a hit or miss. Gel nail chipping in two days to swollen toe from a pedicure, I kept giving them another try due to it being walking distance from me. Finally found the best nail tech and artist ever. Kayla is amazing. She has taken care of me in giving me gel x nails. The first time I saw her she took her time and made them look so perfect that I knew it will last 3+ weeks easily even with rigorous hand activity. Today proved me right in just how amazing she is. She is kind, considerate, patient, punctual, and the list goes on. The work she puts into cutting, shaping, trimming, prepping, all cannot be matched by anyone else I've seen at the establishment. read more

I have been coming to the salon for a few months and was really excited to find a place that offered so many different colors and had design artists with a reasonable price. But each month I noticed that the nails were chipping and cracking much sooner than at other places. I had my nails done last Monday and one of my nails already has a crack in it. Last time the thing happened within about a week and a half but thought I'd give them one more try. I also noticed discoloration in my toenail when they were doing my pedicure this time and I asked about it. They said it was possibly toenail fungus but continued working. It's been hurting since then and so today I took the nail polish off and this is what it looks like. I'll update this post after I see the podiatrist and find out the diagnosis and treatment. I've heard of lots of people getting toenail, fungus at nail salons. I thought if I went to a reputable place this wouldn't happen. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be taking proper care of people and following sanitation guidelines. I hope that by writing this post, I can save others from this unfortunate situation and waste of money. read more

My nails always have to be done, even if it's a clear coat of regular polish just to have something on them. I am a super picky person and pretty OCD about my nails, so I used to hate going out to the salon to get them done because I'd always have to just go home and fix them more to my liking. I go back and forth with doing my own nails at home because it became more of a hassle to pay to get them done and then have to fix it again.. BUT not here at Biotone! I've finally found my go to salon and I am so happy about it! My nails last so long without bothering me because they barely lift and are still intact enough for me to get excited for my next appointment. If I did them at home or at other salons, I feel like I wouldn't go longer than 2 weeks with them cause I'd start picking at the sides and lifts. I used to go to Emily pre-covid and she did a really good job with my nails. Post-covid, I was sad to keep hearing that Emily wasn't back to work, but I'm so glad that Chi Loan booked my appointment with Candy. Turns out that my first time with Candy were the nails that I had when I was proposed to and they lasted so long over 3 weeks at the time he proposed that they still looked like I had a good set when I got my ring for those ring pictures! And they still lasted over a week afterwards. Candy did my nails for my wedding and my wedding nails lasted over 4 weeks, almost 5 before I made my next appointment after. Candy is so meticulous with my nails and truly makes sure that I leave happy. I'm really boring with my nails and seemingly always go for a nude color other than the very rare red or black. Sometimes I feel like the nude colors are harder to do because you can really see it if the color payoff is not even throughout the nails. Candy is very detailed and makes sure all my nails are even and checks them over and over again, even to compare them finger by finger and hand by hand to make sure it's all even. She really does take her time and we have good conversation too! My nails have always been square shaped, but I might've just fully converted to almond shaped nails. Candy was so cute when I was hesitant on deciding to make the change to my nail shape - she told me that if I didn't like the almond shape then next time, she'd just reshape them to coffin and then it'd go back to the square that I was used to. Candy is very patient and even swatches the colors for me on tips to see more clearly because I never know what I want (between colors that pretty much look the same but really aren't) when I'm literally already looking at the actual swatches that they have in stores. My nails have never been damaged and have always been taken off gently and properly, along with being prepped correctly to ensure lasting nails. I always leave with happy clean nails!
