I've lived in Waco for 15 years and have tried to buy a pickup 4 times at Bird-Kultgen Ford. Never been able to. Too many old fashioned shyster games of control, confusion, and ripoff. Not to mention you can always drive 90 miles and save at least a thousand dollars without having to try. B-K Ford is run the old fashioned way to minimize on customer service as a cost savings while maximizing profits on the sales and low balling the trade. When you add all that to the " control the customer" games of inexperienced salesmen that don't know their products you understand how car sales have such a bad name! Do yourself a favor and drive a few miles. B-K Ford is not worth the extra cost and trouble you will expend. read more

This is regarding the service center. My 2007 Ford Focus ST (manual) shift assembly went out, and I had my car towed there at night. I got a call two days later regarding my vehicle, and after a "thorough" inspection the service associate told me that multiple mechanics couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car, so they'd have to disassemble the transmission, and basically rebuild it, which would cost close to $2000. I was told it cycled through all of the gears and that it still didn't work. I knew this was bull crap, because my shifter didn't cycle through anything when I had it towed there. I told the service associate that what she said was not true, and to tell a mechanic to check the shift assembly. I got a call back 40 minutes later saying I was right, it was a problem with a pin. Well, long story short they fixed it, but not really. Luckily the service manager gave me a small discount because of the whole ordeal, which is the only reason this has two stars. The mechanic couldn't find the actual part to replace the broken part, so he improvised with a part he claimed would work. It did work, but only sort of. My shifter is very wobbly now and doesn't shift like it used to. When I called back next week saying this was a problem, they were going to charge me an additional cost because it was "a new problem." I was incredibly frustrated and now have a car that I can't drive the way I used, and a service me that won't fix a problem they caused. read more

I have purchased a total of 8 vehicles from Bird Kultgen Ford. Who ever these people are that wrote the bad reviews, I wonder how they are in everyday life. If you have bad credit...you do wait until it can be placed. If they are backed up in any business you wait. I have always received excellent service...and before..I had my credit cleaned up. Since then...the financing was easier. Since I sell real estate...may I share with you that to get a Mortgage Loan is a hair raising experience. Plus you would be lucky to get one at the very best interest rate, if you have 2 late payments in the last 2 years. Even with stellar credit your lucky to get one done in 30 days. That's with your agent bugging them daily. Personally, I have found them courteous & knowledgeable, and the sales staff very nice. Have your ever worked where you got 300 calls a day, and 300 emails...Its almost impossible to return all calls in a timely manner. Unfortunately, a no star rating is not possible for rating my experience here. Went in to collision center at the agreed appointment time-actually 7 minutes early. Encountered a gentleman with grey hair and beard. He never stood up to welcome me, nor did he shake my hand. So much for small town hospitality. I wanted my Ford product repaired by a Ford dealer. He surveyed the vehicle and said he'd run it by the "Service Manager" to see if it was an issue that could be resolved via warranty. I informed him that I could pay with cash and wanted to get the repair done as quickly as possible. I asked him to bring the "decision maker" to the collision center so we could all talk, as I have little to no tolerance for the "let me run it by my manager" mentality. Naturally the manager was not available and the service guy said he'd call me with a quote. 1 week later no call. I can only imagine the frustration I would encounter if I would allow them make a repair. Run, don't walk away from this place. read more

I would not say that we had an excellent experience, however, the salesperson we worked with did her best to make up for what had become a frustrating experience. The management staff also jumped in to make sure that we were taken care of once they became aware of the situation. Overall, I would say Paul the business manager was the most pleasent to work with. While they are lacking in service compared to some other dealerships we visited, we did walk away with a good price on our vehicle and Paul worked to make sure we got the lowest interest rate possible. read more

I've recently purchased a pre-owned Kia Sorento from them. Wayne Baumgardner really took care of us, and made sure I got exactly what I was looking for. Also, Anthony George in finance worked closely with my bank to make sure we got what we needed. Overall, you never know what you're walking into with a local car buying experience - they really did a great job and surprised me. Things to know: 1) They aren't going to be as cheap as a big-city volume dealer, but the price was extremely fair and basically made it not worth the drive to Dallas/Austin/Houston/etc. 2) It's comforting to know I've got folks like Wayne and Anthony backing me up. I really didn't get that high-pressure vibe from them, and they were genuinely concerned about putting me in a car that was what I needed, and not more than I could afford. 3) Would I buy from them again? ABSOLUTELY. I'm keeping my eyes peeled on their lot, and hopefully will be finding a new-to-me vehicle soon. read more

My husband and I purchased a truck Easter weekend from Bill Bullman. I can honestly say that it was the best car buying experience we have ever received! We felt no pressure what so ever, we were actually just looking when we arrived and not planning on buying but just looking to see what we were wanting in our next truck. We ended up finding the prefect truck, that came with a perfect price and probably the best car salesman we have ever dealt with. He and the team he was working with made it easy from start to finish. Even Josh Owens in the financing department made what can be the most stressful part of the process easy. We had many questions about the warranty (it was a used truck) and he explained everything throughly. Even with our 5 year old in tote the whole time (which if you have bought a car before can be a long process with a young child with you) and they did everything that they could to help accommodate and make the process speedy. Each person we encountered not only wanted to know my husband and my name but also his name too. It made him feel like apart of the whole car buying process and for a 5 year old boy, a new truck is a fun and exciting thing! So them including him and talking to him the whole time was neat. Bill even apologized because the service department wasn't there at the time for him to take us back and introduce us to them. We were told multiple times that if we had questions to call or come by anytime. I have visited this location several times and up until last week received very good customer service from Leslie in the service department. She was always polite, prompt and helpful. Last week my power steering went out and I had to take my car in for service. Leslie was not there when I arrived so I left the car with Bobby. I was told my car wouldn't be looked at until the next day and that someone would call when the problem was discovered. No problem, I dropped it off late in the day and knew it would take some time. Late the next afternoon I still hadn't received a call letting me know what was wrong with my car so I called the dealership. They told me they had found out what was wrong and were waiting on the part which should be there the following morning. Ok great, glad they figured it out, wish they would have called. But, whatever. The next day, again, late afternoon, I still hadn't heard any news on my car. So, I called again. I was told after being transferred to a voicemail recording 3 times that Bobby was out to lunch and no one else knew anything about my car but that Bobby would call me back when he returned in 30 minutes. 1 1/2 hrs later - still no call, so I called again. I was transferred to a voicemail another several times, each time I would go back to the operator who would not let me finish a complete sentence asking if I could just talk to a live person. all I wanted to know was if my car would be done, I wouldn't have been mad if it wasn't ready, I just needed to arrange a ride home from work. When I did finally get ahold of Bobby he was also very short with me and did not let me finish a complete sentence. He told me the part still wasn't there and he didn't know if it was coming and wouldn't know for another hour. Thankfully the part came in and Bobby actually called me back and I was able to pick up my car that evening and didn't get stranded in Waco. Unfortunately, the poor services didn't end there, the cashier (older woman, not sure of her name) was incredibly rude to the gentleman ahead of me and then was very short with me during my transaction. Long story but the point is - if a single person over the 3 days I dealt with this dealership had let me finish a complete sentence I would not have been mad at all. Instead, no one took the time to listen to my question and in turn I will never return to this dealership. If you are forced to go here make sure you talk to Leslie and grin and bear it through your cashier experience because it's not going to be pleasant. The dealership should spend some of it's remodeling $ on communication training for their customer facing employees. read more

I was recently home on Leave from Afghanistan. On my last day home, I should have been goofing off with my kids. But, NO - I was underneath my old F-150 trying to fix a simple problem that quickly became complicated. Frustrated, angry & depressed, I drove the truck to B-K Ford. The terrific lady in the Service Dept. listened to my problem, took my keys & said, "Go spend time with your family". That afternoon, before going to the airport, she called & said, "The truck is ready, and we're not charging you a penny". Amazing!!--Especially in today's economy. I take my Escape here for every oil change and every repair. These guys are straight to the point and give you the facts. I have never had them do a repair without calling and asking first. They have a rewards program that is the best one I have ever signed up for. You get a percentage back from the repairs you get done as well as a free oil change after I think the 5th one. I have never had to take my vehicle back to them after a repair has been done. I have had breaks, new alternator and a steering fluid issue and all but once has the price been lower than I thought it was going to be. They don't push other repairs on you, they just give you the facts. I like Bird-Kultgen Ford alot. read more

This place is Horrible when it comes to their service department. My son was told to drop his car off on January 16 to get the front fender fixed were someone hit him. Supposed to take 5 days and he didn't get his car back till Feb 1st. Every time either of us called they were rude and made excuses. My son is in Waco for college and 3 1/2 hours from home. He had no way to get any where with out his car. I ended up calling day after day till they finally made his car a priority and got it done. Pat thought it was no big deal people leave their cars for 2,3 and even 4 weeks at a time to get fixed. When i pointed out that was terrible and who could actually afford to have their car in the shop that long he laughed. Not one time when i talked to Pat was he professional in anyway. NEVER NEVER NEVER again. And for those of you that say "why didn't you rent him a car?" he's 19 you have to be 21 to get a rent car. read more

We bought a pre-owned vehicle from BK about 6 months ago. We shopped around and BK offered us the best deal by far for the truck we wanted. Our salesperson was Chad and he spent about 30 minutes with us after we had purchased the truck showing us all of the many features. He was very knowledgeable and thorough. Spent 70k on a new truck, at 75 mph it shakes violently. Took it to Bird Kultgen service department. They kept my new truck for 2 weeks, then called me to come get it. They said that they didn't know why it was shaking. Pretty much told me oh well. What a joke of a service department read more

Your service is usually very good, but whoever did my inspection sticker work this time did not close my hood good enough and when I left Bird-Kultgen,s lot my hood came open on highway 6. I pulled off the road and closed it. Could have been a lot worse! read more
