Three children Jumbo Fried Chicken Tenders (3 pcs)

$12.14 chicken tenders with visibly burnt breading. Unseasoned, bland, yet tender chicken. 2oz of honey mustard sauce tasted typical but nowhere near enough to cover the taste of the burnt breading. Disappointing. Had potential to be good but fell solidly short. To be fair, the piece on the left was double the size of what is presented in the photo.

Rarely am I compelled to write a review on Yelp unless the place exceeds expectations or falls short. This location is in the latter category. Ordered on DoorDash a deluxe chicken sandwich with waffle fries and a side of ranch. Besides screwing up the order (received a normal sandwich with no coleslaw) the amount of chicken in the sandwich is for lack of a better term, pathetic. The chicken was dry and virtually non existent. The sandwich comprised of entirely burnt batter with very little chicken inside. I'm not sure if they could legally call this a chicken sandwich. The side of ranch (which they charge $1.50 for; I know, DoorDash overcharges) was enough to consume with one waffle fry. I appreciate Bird-N-Bun looking out for my calorie intake but I would have appreciated a full container of ranch, especially when I'm paying for it. In hindsight the small portion was a blessing in disguise as the ranch was rather bland. The waffle fries were the only decent thing on this order. I have no complaints there. Overall a very poor experience.

If you order from these guys through Uber eats and it goes to the location at 615 North Western, a cloud kitchen, you can forget about getting your order in a reasonable time. I was told that the delays are up to 45 minutes. I don't know about other locations, but if your order ends up at this location, forget it!

That was nasty. Looked for hot chicken within 5 min of house; next time, we'll drive. Checked out this place that seemed sketchy on Goigle/Yelp, yet people had reviewed it. It has two names; one on Google, another on Yelp. I like my Baby's initial response, "On Daisy? It can't be good." But he trusts me and my unique talent to search out deliciousness. I tried to warm him that's not what I was feeling this time, so much as laziness. So, we drive up to an innovative warehouse space. Food pick-up drivers are grabbing dishes from food lockers. Meanwhile, walk-ups (us) order from a kiosk. Kiosk has about 20 restaurants and their menus within. 5 stars for innovation. After this, it goes downhill. Place has a few tables and chairs for eating, but area seems sketchy for evening dining. Service is engaging, so plus there. I saw operation...Commercial refrigerator; each restaurant seems to have a door. So...fresh frozen heated up, maybe? Well, our sandwiches were 1) greasy, 2) missing slaw on one, 3) bread, 4) same heat, even though we ordered differently. Fries were good.

Please aware that your pick up or delivery orders are cooked inside this closed warehouse under unknown food quality control. This warehouse does not have sign of food rating. Furthermore, what you receive is different from what you see on Bird N Bun website. You are buying a food prepared by Uber and DoorDash workers at their kitchen. It is very disappointing. This yelp rating is misleading.

Bird-N-Bun is a go-to and I absolutely love the sandwiches. The chicken is fried perfectly and juicy, whether you order original, spicy or deluxe. The loaded fries are very good, but the fries themselves are kind of whatever in terms of flavor but with everything else going on they kind of get away with it. Would be awesome if they loaded the original and spicy sandwiches with coleslaw like most other fried chicken sandwich places, so 4 stars for poor fry quality and having to pay extra for something that comes standard most other fried chicken places. Delivery is always fast, which is awesome when your hungry in a pinch. It's a ghost kitchen so there's not much in terms of ambiance, but the service is usually good if you go to pickup.

Placed my order online and away i go! This chicken joint is located at the daily diner long beach on daisy. I love trying the different places here which has over 30+ vendors which is amazing with more to come. Pretty good chicken here. Got the SPICY tenders and let me remind you it's spicy as hell. Next time the original only! The tender were good though and the waffle fries was seasoned well also. And the spicy bird sauce was excellent. Soda only were like $3.00 for a can which is pretty high for a location like this. I would come back again.

A TRUE happy accident. On our way back to Orange County I was looking up just any type of fast food type of spots. The very first place with great reviews were Bird - n - bun. When we pulled up I have to admit it was a little confusing. I didn't quite understand what they were going for. But I assume because of covid they changed up their whole set up. We were able to order on iPad for a handful of spots and wait for our order to be placed in a locker for pick up, for essentially contactless pickUp. I landed on Bird-n-Bun, I saw that they had amazing looking chicken sandwiches, fries and sides. My eyes immediately landed on the vegetarian bird. A vegetarian twist on their classic chicken sandwich. So I thought to my self, challenge accepted. When I tell you, the taste, the presentation, the consistency, the flavors down the very last crumb were amazing. I didn't miss the chicken aspect of this chicken sandwich and I for sure wasn't lacking any type of spice or flavor. Be sure to add the fries, they are hot and seasoned well!

With COVID / social distancing concerns being the new normal it was interesting to come across this restaurant with that business plan already set to go. But would this place with the absence of server-to-customer relationship still provide the experience and flavors to warrant a return? The answer is yes! At first I wondered why is the price so expensive as I pressed my own buttons to own order and pick up my own bag of food from a very impersonal locker. But their cha-ching is in the super juicy and crunchy piece of chicken with a flavor sauce worth the price. It's definitely worth getting the spicy bird as it's not "spicy"...

I'm going to be honest with whomever reading this. I was excited there was a (new) chicken sandwich place in Long Beach as we don't have much nearby. I'd expect it to be savory and delicious as they were a lot of positive reviews but let's say my expectations were not met at all. This sandwich must've been good to those who eat fast food such as McD or BK or Jacks or Wendy's. In my opinion it doesn't measure up to chicfila or even popeyes, and I've tried several other chicken sandwiches place which are better (I'm on a journey of chicken sandwiches). This sandwich did not taste good and their special sauce was like spicy mayo and ranch together. I gave them a second chance to redeem my first experience with them but it was the same. Fries are alright. Sorry guys. Wish your business the best! It might just be me.. read more

So me and the hubby decided to try this little gem. He got the spicy chicken sandwich while I got the chicken strips. We also had one side of fries, coleslaw and a biscuit. We were not disappointed. The chicken is very juicy and has a really good batter. Waffle fries were very good and I was shocked I Liked the coleslaw (not usually a fan). We will definitely order from here again. Only two suggestions. The chicken strips are huge, as described, so maybe provide one more dipping sauce. I was fortunate to have ordered a side of their spicy mayo in addition to their buffalo ranch (very yummy by the way) and had I not done that, I would have run our of dipping sauce. Also, the biscuit reminds me more of Angel Food Cake than a honey biscuit. It was still tasty, just not what I was expecting. So maybe change the name or include that info in the description. Attended a Bird-N-Bun pop-up where they sampled their menu and promoted their new business. They're going to be available for delivery in the Long Beach area by the end of the month. Honestly, the best fried chicken sandwich I've had in a while. Simple, straightforward, and you can tell it's made with quality ingredients. Fries and coleslaw solid also. I wanted chicken for lunch and went searching and found this place. It order for delivery at a specific time. My food arrived on time and was still warm enough for me to say they didn't make it and sit it on a shelf for an hour. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, the chicken tenders, waffle fries . I ate the spicy sandwich and I have to say it was very tasty. It was juicy and well seasoned. It was not spicy to me. My little one had the tenders. She gave them two thumbs up. They were huge so she didn't eat all three. The waffle fries were good but wouldn't order them again. I didn't take pictures but the other pics are good representation of what I received. read more

It was 9pm last night. I was craving a Popeye's chicken sandwich but wanted a vegetarian option. I've seen this place on Postmates many times, and finally decided to give them a shot when I saw that they had a vegetarian chik'n sandwich. I got: the plant-based bird plus cheddar minus pickles, regular fries, and a marshmallow bar. The sandwich was delicious, the bread tasted buttery, and the sauce had a good, slight amount of kick. The fries were the right amount of salty and crispy. The marshmallow bar tasted rich in comparison to a Rice Krispie bar. Definitely ordering again soon! read more

Ordered through Postmates and it was delicious 10/10 !!! I'm a huge chicken sandwich lover so when the restaurant popped up I couldn't help but try it & im so glad I did. It's wing time! A native of Buffalo, NY, I have had my share of wings. these are authentic. I tried the Nashville flavor ... yes... Nashville hot chicken meets crispy deep fried wing, a Buffalo style wing is light and crunchy, never soggy, even with heavy sauce. Not typically a fan of vegan meats the plant based burger actually tastes better than chicken to me. It's not trying to be chicken IMO, rather something deep fried that's a category of its own, a bit of carnival fun, a bit agedashi tofu, presented in soul food form. read more

Wanted to find a local chicken joint and decided to order from here. The chicken was not dry but it was not quite juicy either. The fries were undercook and the bird sauce was overly seasoned. They made it so complicated to order food. I had to go in three different type of lines to order my food then I was checking the mailboxes which they put the food in and the guy at the front was saying that he's gonna kick me out if I look for my food again, very rude didn't want to help looked like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Drop what you are doing right now and order from Bird-N-Bun! There are many chicken sandwich options out there but they do it right. The chicken has an excellent, fresh flavor and the chicken is thick. We prefer the Spicy Bird and the Original Bird. Do yourself a favor and order a side of the jumbo fried tenders and extra sides of the spicy bird sauce--you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend. read more

Terrible service and cheap, tasteless food. There are dozens of kitchens in this warehouse that are not supervised and the cooks quit often. As a result, you're paying high prices for some fancy new concept and weak food. There are local businesses all over LB that you can support. The kids working the window are always depressed and unhappy, too. Horrible vibe in this place, don't go there. read more

This is me and my family's first time we ever have is bird n bun today. Also, my dad tells me how he has it at work for lunch from his employer from San Pedro. Of course, I liked their spicy chicken sandwich with spicy bird sauce and pepper jack cheese on my menu, but it's not too hot or medium level on the spices. This place was been here less than a year. And, I liked it much more than chick fil a and Gus world famous fried chicken in my opinion. Although, I still enjoyed having other fried chicken fast food from Popeyes, Gus, church's fried chicken, and chick fil a every once in a while. I enjoyed eating the sides of waffle fries with dipping sauce on honey mustard, buffalo ranch and spicy sauce at the same time. Hopefully next time, I'll give it a try one of their desserts from chewy marshmallow bar, double chocolate chunk cookies, or regular chocolate chip cookies. However, this place is more of a self serving food court to order online or kiosk devices as I wasn't expected to see isolated from new buildings without indoor or outdoor dining. Lastly, I'll recommend this fast food of bird n bun to my friends and family. read more

The sandwich had a few positives: good amount of beef, tender meat, cheese melted in well and the bread was genuinely great. Soft, chewy, flavorful and easily the best thing here. Everything after that started falling apart. The sandwich was rich and oily but didn't have enough seasoning, acidity or heat to balance it. There were faint hints of cumin and the salt level was fine, but overall it tasted like it was trying to coast on grease. The lettuce and tomato added nothing, and even the cilantro sauce couldn't cut through the oily aftertaste. If you do try it, add onions, pickles and jalapeños because the base sandwich badly needs backup. The fries looked good, then delivered absolutely nothing. Barely seasoned, smaller portion than expected and somehow had a weird burnt aftertaste despite looking normal. That takes effort. Service was the real disaster. The person helping me acted annoyed, like customers were an unfortunate side effect of running a restaurant. The menu board shows combo pricing for some items, like burgers, but not sandwiches, so the chopped cheese combo pricing was unclear. The drink situation was ridiculous. The board says $2.99 for a 24 oz drink and the soda machine was right there, but I was handed a 12 oz can with no heads-up that the machine wasn't available. That's not a substitute. Full size promise for a half-size reality. For $22.03 total, that made the whole combo feel even worse value-wise. Food took almost 30 minutes and it felt like my order sat around until it was convenient to bag it. I only got it when another customer who ordered after me was being helped. Add the flies hanging around the napkins and surfaces and this started feeling less like lunch and more like a health inspection waiting to happen. Parking is rough too since it's on a narrow, busy intersection, though there is paid parking across the street. Overall, the bread was great and the sandwich had potential, but potential doesn't carry bad service, bland fries, unclear pricing, a drink downgrade, a long wait and flies. If the food was amazing, maybe some of this could be overlooked. Nah, too many atrocities happening.

I was visiting my sister in LB and she mentioned a new fried chicken spot that had opened up. I had no idea it would be this interesting new concept of a "ghost" kitchen they called it. We pulled up thinking it would be like any other restaurant but it was kind of like a cool hipster warehouse. It's mainly for delivery drivers to pick up, but we didn't know that at the time. We tried their tenders and both original/spicy sandwiches because they were all a dollar for their launch day. It was so crazy and hectic there but they were a dollar so who can really complain. (Maybe the drivers trying to deliver the food). The breading was crispy and the chicken was so juicy and tender! I can't decided which I liked better. I'm big on sandwiches but their buns went so well with their crispy juicy chicken breast. I am salivating just thinking about it. I hope they crush it and open some up on the east coast! I had the spicy Bird sandwich and my son had the waffle Bird. They were both okay. The spicy sandwich chicken was tender with just a little a bit of kick. I prefer it to be spicer but the flavor was decent. They should add the level of spiciness as an option on the menu and perhaps a better deal on the combos.
