Three children Jumbo Fried Chicken Tenders (3 pcs)
    Jennifer P.

$12.14 chicken tenders with visibly burnt breading. Unseasoned, bland, yet tender chicken. 2oz of honey mustard sauce tasted typical but nowhere near enough to cover the taste of the burnt breading. Disappointing. Had potential to be good but fell solidly short. To be fair, the piece on the left was double the size of what is presented in the photo.

1/8 filled cup of $1.50 ranch.

Rarely am I compelled to write a review on Yelp unless the place exceeds expectations or falls short. This location is in the latter category. Ordered on DoorDash a deluxe chicken sandwich with waffle fries and a side of ranch. Besides screwing up the order (received a normal sandwich with no coleslaw) the amount of chicken in the sandwich is for lack of a better term, pathetic. The chicken was dry and virtually non existent. The sandwich comprised of entirely burnt batter with very little chicken inside. I'm not sure if they could legally call this a chicken sandwich. The side of ranch (which they charge $1.50 for; I know, DoorDash overcharges) was enough to consume with one waffle fry. I appreciate Bird-N-Bun looking out for my calorie intake but I would have appreciated a full container of ranch, especially when I'm paying for it. In hindsight the small portion was a blessing in disguise as the ranch was rather bland. The waffle fries were the only decent thing on this order. I have no complaints there. Overall a very poor experience.

If you order from these guys through Uber eats and it goes to the location at 615 North Western, a cloud kitchen, you can forget about getting your order in a reasonable time. I was told that the delays are up to 45 minutes. I don't know about other locations, but if your order ends up at this location, forget it!

That was nasty. Looked for hot chicken within 5 min of house; next time, we'll drive. Checked out this place that seemed sketchy on Goigle/Yelp, yet people had reviewed it. It has two names; one on Google, another on Yelp. I like my Baby's initial response, "On Daisy? It can't be good." But he trusts me and my unique talent to search out deliciousness. I tried to warm him that's not what I was feeling this time, so much as laziness. So, we drive up to an innovative warehouse space. Food pick-up drivers are grabbing dishes from food lockers. Meanwhile, walk-ups (us) order from a kiosk. Kiosk has about 20 restaurants and their menus within. 5 stars for innovation. After this, it goes downhill. Place has a few tables and chairs for eating, but area seems sketchy for evening dining. Service is engaging, so plus there. I saw operation...Commercial refrigerator; each restaurant seems to have a door. So...fresh frozen heated up, maybe? Well, our sandwiches were 1) greasy, 2) missing slaw on one, 3) bread, 4) same heat, even though we ordered differently. Fries were good.

This is where the food is actually being prepared

Please aware that your pick up or delivery orders are cooked inside this closed warehouse under unknown food quality control. This warehouse does not have sign of food rating. Furthermore, what you receive is different from what you see on Bird N Bun website. You are buying a food prepared by Uber and DoorDash workers at their kitchen. It is very disappointing. This yelp rating is misleading.

Spicy Bird - Fried Chicken Sandwich
    Mike F.

Bird-N-Bun is a go-to and I absolutely love the sandwiches. The chicken is fried perfectly and juicy, whether you order original, spicy or deluxe. The loaded fries are very good, but the fries themselves are kind of whatever in terms of flavor but with everything else going on they kind of get away with it. Would be awesome if they loaded the original and spicy sandwiches with coleslaw like most other fried chicken sandwich places, so 4 stars for poor fry quality and having to pay extra for something that comes standard most other fried chicken places. Delivery is always fast, which is awesome when your hungry in a pinch. It's a ghost kitchen so there's not much in terms of ambiance, but the service is usually good if you go to pickup.

    Waffle fries.. Nice and crispy.

Placed my order online and away i go! This chicken joint is located at the daily diner long beach on daisy. I love trying the different places here which has over 30+ vendors which is amazing with more to come. Pretty good chicken here. Got the SPICY tenders and let me remind you it's spicy as hell. Next time the original only! The tender were good though and the waffle fries was seasoned well also. And the spicy bird sauce was excellent. Soda only were like $3.00 for a can which is pretty high for a location like this. I would come back again.

    Vegetarian bird

A TRUE happy accident. On our way back to Orange County I was looking up just any type of fast food type of spots. The very first place with great reviews were Bird - n - bun. When we pulled up I have to admit it was a little confusing. I didn't quite understand what they were going for. But I assume because of covid they changed up their whole set up. We were able to order on iPad for a handful of spots and wait for our order to be placed in a locker for pick up, for essentially contactless pickUp. I landed on Bird-n-Bun, I saw that they had amazing looking chicken sandwiches, fries and sides. My eyes immediately landed on the vegetarian bird. A vegetarian twist on their classic chicken sandwich. So I thought to my self, challenge accepted. When I tell you, the taste, the presentation, the consistency, the flavors down the very last crumb were amazing. I didn't miss the chicken aspect of this chicken sandwich and I for sure wasn't lacking any type of spice or flavor. Be sure to add the fries, they are hot and seasoned well!

Me placing my own contactless order

With COVID / social distancing concerns being the new normal it was interesting to come across this restaurant with that business plan already set to go. But would this place with the absence of server-to-customer relationship still provide the experience and flavors to warrant a return? The answer is yes! At first I wondered why is the price so expensive as I pressed my own buttons to own order and pick up my own bag of food from a very impersonal locker. But their cha-ching is in the super juicy and crunchy piece of chicken with a flavor sauce worth the price. It's definitely worth getting the spicy bird as it's not "spicy"...

This place popped up, and it was happy hour. So we thought why not. We got lucky and found parking close (rare for that street). And walked over and immediately loved the vibe. We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. I will say that the prices are a bit steep for me. Very glad we came during the happy hour. But really want to return to try the food and more drinks. Maybe on a special date night out!

Visually, the burger was impressive and looked exactly like something you'd want to dig into. However, the salt level was overwhelming to the point where I genuinely could not finish it. What made matters worse was that our server was not attentive with refilling our waters, and when you're working through an extremely salty dish, hydration isn't optional. I left the meal feeling dehydrated and honestly a little frustrated. The bright spot of the visit was the Brussels sprouts, which were genuinely well done and showed some real kitchen care. If I were to return, I'd probably stick to the vegetable sides. For a restaurant with a 4 PM lull and minimal table traffic, there's no excuse for that level of inattentiveness. A simple water refill and a quick check in would have saved the experience. As it stands, the combination of an over salted entrée and absent service made for a tough sell on the value. If you're in the area craving a burger, you might want to save your money and head down the street to Louis Burger instead. Ellie's may shine in other areas; I've heard good things about the pasta, but this particular visit missed the mark.

I don't recommend the smash style burger because it's smaller and doesn't come with the fixings, but if that's your thing than by all means enjoy. I got the backyard bbq burger and it was very tasty. Not the best I've ever had but it definitely hits the spot and prices are not bad at all here. If I happen to be in the area again I would definitely be down to phone in my order and pickup for takeout to enjoy the tastiness somewhere I feel a little more comfortable. Staff was also very friendly - when they could be seen at least, but it was one cashier/server with two guys in the kitchen and although it's a small hole in the wall place there is still plenty to do if you're understaffed so I'm not even mad about it. Originally, we were going to try to hit up Zuzu's petal, but the line was ridiculously long and the parking was a nightmare, so I decided to take her to my 2nd choice, which was Kin Long. I thought it would be a run-of-the-mill local, Thai place with food that is more homestyle and tastes slightly above average to hit the Thai food fix. Boy, was I wrong! First and foremost, they have their own parking lot, so YAY! It's starting to sound like my standards are low, but they aren't. OMG- their restroom is clean! JK. From the outside, it looked nice enough, but I was impressed when we entered. It had a comfy, modern, clean, and beachy elegance to it (the lights and that chandelier) without it being stuffy or looking disjointed in terms of interior decor. Servers were very polite and accommodating. I let my friend order since she was the guest. She ordered the garlic shrimp noodles and scampi shrimp to share, and the Thai tea drink with the ice cream bar. I ordered 3 cocktails (Jalapeno + tamarind, Lychee, and Thai tea martini) and they were all good (not overly sweet and weak sauce, but balanced, tasty, and had the right amount of buzz). We had a light lunch since we had AYCE hot pot later that evening (Mikiya - yes I'm a good host). The garlic noodles exceeded my expectations - shrimp were huge, seasoned well, and just cooked through, the noodles were broad, float, tender, and had a slight chewiness to it. The scampi shrimp were huge, tasty, succulent, and cooked perfectly (not surprised since the shrimp with the garlic noodles were so good). NOTHING WAS OVERCOOKED OR MADE ME GO.... "MEH...." and I've been to many Thai restaurants even the highly stylized kitschy ones like Farmhouse Thai in SF. The waiters were very attentive. It's about how management handled it. We made a reservation three days in advance to watch the Mexico World Cup match. We arrived 10 min early to our reservation in anticipation of the crowds. We received confirmation by both email and text, but when we arrived, we were told there was no reservation and "nothing they could do." Despite showing proof of our confirmed reservation, they refused to honor it and told us there were no tables available. Seconds later, another group walked up and asked to join the waitlist, and he gladly added them. I then asked why we couldn't be added--considering we had a confirmed reservation--and only then did he put us on the list. When a restaurant makes a mistake, the bare minimum is trying to make it right. We should have been given priority on the waitlist. Instead, after nearly two hours of waiting, we were still ninth in line even though the wait time for our table size showed 0 minutes. We left without ever being seated. Thankfully before the match began, we walked over to Broken Spirits (5 min walk away) where they seated us within 15 minutes and even gave us complimentary drinks to celebrate the game. The difference in hospitality was incredible. This wasn't my first disappointing experience here, either. On a previous visit, I waited outside to be seated for so long that I eventually gave up and seated myself at the bar. To make matters worse, the food and drinks don't justify the price. Cocktails are around $20, filled with ice, and underwhelming. As a customer, I left Ordinarie feeling dismissed and disrespected. Between the poor service, overpriced menu, and management's complete lack of accountability, I won't be returning. If you're in the DTLB area, I would recommend better drinks/better service at Broken Spirits or Midnight Oil :)
