Enjoyed the casual atmosphere, friendly staff, and, most importantly, the flavorful chicken. I prefer chicken breast even though white meat can generally taste dry. But this place nails it- the chicken was tender and juicy with perfectly crisp exterior. I didn't get to try the original but was nonetheless very pleased with the spicy chicken sandwich and the salad with honey butter chicken. The fries alone were just ok but salvaged by their homemade sauces. Overall, I left very happy with the meal and grateful this exists for the town. Thank you to the kitchen and wait staff for a tasty, enjoyable experience.
Chicken was dry and overcooked, burnt actually. It had no flavor, it was like no seasoning on it at all. I do not recommend this place!!!
Delicious and tasty chicken. Love this spot. Outdoor and indoor seating. Plenty of options. And many types of drinks. The chicken and or chicken sandos were all full of flavor. Aides are also fabulous. Great vibe with fast service.
While I wouldn't say BirdHouse is quite as amazing/special as all the reviews suggest, it is certainly very good and popular for good reason. The menu is a bit limited (just varieties of chicken basically), and I went with the Chicken Sandwich. It was pretty standard with fried chicken, pickles, and sauce and I will say, the chicken was really nicely crispy and very juicy/tender. Also, it was only $10 - very hard to find those kinds of prices around these days. The restaurant has a small parking lot, but a decent amount of seating. There is a nice outdoor seating area, where we were sat. The staff are super friendly and attentive. The service speed is also decent. With these good prices and tasty chicken, it's tough to ask for much more from a place like this. Great choice for a chill/casual meal in Page.
This is a must try spot in Page!! The chicken is so good, and their prices are incredibly reasonable (great value!). Very cute outdoor covered patio, with inside seating as well. Service was fast and friendly (the best kind). Of the items on their menu, you cannot go wrong. I highly recommend the chicken sandwich (I had the honey butter). After ordering, I heard the sandwich with honey butter and extra spicy is a huge hit. Safe to say that's what I'll be trying next time!
I stopped by for lunch after visiting antelope canyon after being recommended it by a friend. This place was 10/10. The fried chicken was crispy and hot. Service was quick and they brought my meal out to the table once it was ready. I ordered half honey butter and half spicy. I preferred the honey over the spicy but both were good. There was a small station with condiments, utensils and water. The parking lot was kind of small and would be a little tricky if you had a large truck.
Easily the best meal I've had in Arizona. After a long day in the sun exploring the canyon and Horseshoe Bend, my boyfriend and I were extremely hungry, so we were excited to find a chicken spot nearby. Not just any chicken place, but one that had been highly praised by reviewers online, so we had to try it. The chicken was crispy and juicy, the fries were well seasoned, though a little on the harder side, and the mac and cheese was one of the best I've ever had, super creamy and delicious. I really enjoyed this meal. The price was reasonable for the portion size, and this is definitely a place I would recommend to anyone visiting.
Loved eating at this local spot! The staff were super friendly and the outdoor seating had a lot of room for big groups. Ordered the thigh and leg plate which came with a side. The chicken was juicy and tender. The plate even came with an extra piece! I preferred the honey butter over the spicy but both complimented the crispy chicken well. The Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were hits at the table! Gave the donut holes a chance and they were more cakey than donut in texture but still satisfied our dessert craving. Highly recommend checking them out.
The food at Birdhouse was excellent. The fries were incredible, perfectly crispy and well seasoned. The house-made sauce really stood out and added a lot of flavor to the meal. The chicken was tender and juicy on the inside with a crispy exterior, making the skin especially satisfying. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Lots of seating, good ambiance. Overall, everything was well executed, flavorful, and enjoyable. Definitely a spot worth checking out.
Heard great things about the "famous" fried chicken and cold beer. After a long day of adventuring on the lake and in the canyons, this did not disappoint. I had the half bird and did part spicy and part honey butter I had the broccoli salad as my side. The chicken was juicy with a great crunch / crisp. I also liked the ranch / honey mustard sauces. They have a select number of beers to choose from. You order from the counter and then they will bring it out to you. Fast casual type of service so you have get up and get what you need. Seating outside is really nice. Definitely recommend as a good meal to refuel.
Walking into Birdhouse, a converted drive-through restaurant, at 6PM, we were greeted with a short line wrapping around the order counter. It moves pretty quickly since the menu, full of fried chicken and staple sides, isn't too complicated. Birdhouse is a counter service establishment so the food doesn't take very long at all to cook and assemble. In our case it took only about 10 minutes. Thigh + Leg, Original ($11) - Instead of the advertised thigh and leg, the meal came with 3 pieces of chicken - one leg and 2 thighs! It wasn't just us; I saw other customers also getting three pieces. Finally a restaurant that underpromises and overdelivers! The breading on the chicken is a really dark golden brown, initially making me assume it was overfried. Biting into the breading, a really strong crunch shatters on the teeth. It's a hard crunch vs. the crisp that a normal fried chicken skin exhibits. Perhaps they enhance the mixture with rice flour and evercrisp? It's really quite amazing especially with how thin the breading looks. Even with the dark color, the interior remains moist and juicy; in fact, upon my first bite, a stream of chicken juice shot up onto my glasses! The meat has clearly been brined as it's super flavorful, and there's plenty of salt and pepper mixed into the breading to add even more oomph. The fat is rendered nicely and everything is served piping hot. They really know what they are doing with their chicken! A meal comes with one side of which we went with the Seasoned Fries. These are crinkle cut fries sprinkled with seasoning salt. The fry level isn't the most even, with some pieces being a little more dried out, but most still having tender interiors. I'd probably go with a different side in the future. (5/5) Thigh + Leg, Honey Butter ($11) - I believe this is literally the same fried chicken but with honey butter melted over the top. It adds some richness and sweetness, but is otherwise the same excellent fried chicken. For the side with this meal, we went with the Broccoli Salad w/ Bacon. It's pieces of crunchy raw broccoli mixed with tiny pieces of bacon in a light creamy dressing with a bit of sweetness. (5/5) Birdhouse makes their sauces in house which they supply for most orders. The first is their special honey mustard which, as the name implies, is sweet and mustardy. The second is a buttermilk ranch, creamy and tangy. It's very fresh and seems to have fresh herbs mixed in. After several days eating bland (but very fresh!) food in the Navajo Nation, we finally had a meal with actual seasoning! We were impressed enough that we went back the next day to try the final chicken flavor. This time it was earlier at 5PM and for some reason the line was even longer! Yet it took less than 5 minutes for the food to arrive. Thigh + Leg, Spicy ($11) - The base chicken is the same texture and flavor as above. The only difference is a liberal dusting of cayenne pepper spice mixture on top. They don't use any hot oil, so it's only dry spice on the outside, applied right after frying so it all sticks on. The powder is spicy enough to heat up the mouth and lips, but isn't enough to get me sweating at all. I'd compare to something between mild and medium at a hot chicken shop. There's just a hint of sweetness in the mixture - I actually wished it was boosted up a bit more. Still great fried chicken though! (5/5) Birdhouse really serves some great fried chicken. Reasonably priced, delicious food, great portions, there's not much more I could ask for. It was so good that we ended up eating here both nights we stayed in Page! Bathrooms - Single unisex room outside on the back side of the restaurant.
I really enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich from Birdhouse! But what especially stood out was the honey butter flavor that I got for the chicken. I felt like the sauce was the standout. I also like the portion as well! I had it with the fries as well, but didn't feel like the fries stood out.
Stumbled upon Birdhouse while passing through town, and I'm so glad we did. The chicken at this rustic, walk-up-and-order spot was fantastic. We tried both the original and spicy chicken tenders, and both were excellent. Also, don't skip the crispy seasoned french fries -- a must. Can't wait to stop by again.

The verdict is in and.... BirdHouse gets 5 stars! My friends and I truly didn't expect much, but DANG their chicken is good! They have a small parking lot with spots on both sides of the restaurant. Inside, you order first then find a table to eat at. I ordered a chicken leg and thigh plate with mac n cheese as my side. On the outside, the chicken looked dark and a bit burnt. Looks were definitely deceiving because once I bit in, holy mackerole, that chicken was juicy and tender as can be. The skin was crispy too. The mac n cheese was creamy and delicious. They also have a wide selection of beer and wines you can choose from. It was then when we realized it was a Korean friend chicken joint modified to fit the town of Page, AZ. A true gem. read more

We were on vacation visiting Antelope Canyon and wanted something quick to take to the hotel. The restaurant was easy to find. The service was quick and we got our food quick. The actual fried chicken didn't blow up my skirt. It was okay. The sauce was okay. The broccoli salad and mashed potatoes were probably the highlight of the meal. They do serve beer so that was a nice perk. That being said, if you are looking for a quick meal then it definitely fits the bill. read more

This might have been some of the best fried chicken I've ever had! Located just by the Antelope Canyon Tour locations making this an excellent lunch spot for us after our tour. The chicken was just soooooo good. Lightly battered, with super crispy thin skin and really juicy meat. Fries were nicely seasoned and you get their signature sauces that go perfectly with both. Everything was freshly cooked and super hot and tasty. Definitely suggest stopping by if you're in Page, AZ! read more
Very close to the lower and upper canyon lot tour locations. Which makes a perfect lunch spot to hit between two tours. I love wings and fried chicken! Their skin is so crispy! Love their honey butter flavor and their very spicy flavor is not very spicy but still tastes good Their house sauce is good as well. Love that they also have lemon flavored ice water - yes, small and simple things matter. read more

If you're in Page, get chicken at Birdhouse, it won't let you down. This was a bright spot and a fond memory for my family on a western park's vacation. Page is a great spot to spend a night or two as well. read more
The big sign on the outside says Fried Chicken and Cold Beer. What more is there to say? I was roped in by those soon to be immortal words. The funky building which has drive in style parking and a long indoor/outdoor seating is nicely done. The staff even comes around to check on you frequently. I had the chicken sandwich which had two tenders, house made dill pickle chips and their house sauce all on a sweet brioche bun. All very tasty. You get to choose the chicken flavor from regular, hot or honey butter flavors. I chose the honey butter flavored chicken. The Bud Light I had was fairly cold but I've had colder beers. Overall, the star of this place is the fried chicken and is definitely worth a visit for that alone. read more

Best chicken tenders I have ever had in my life. Super crispy out the outside and super juicy inside. Maybe double fried done correctly? Ten giant pieces with choice of two sides for just under $50. I thought it was expensive at first because I was expecting them to be size of Chik-fil-A, but each tender is like double or triple the size of that. And it is so juicy, even when reheated the next day! We got half original and half honey butter. Honey butter is the way to go. Seasoned fries and mashed potatoes and gravy were great sides to have. We also added mac and cheese, which was interesting. It tasted like there was sweet creamed corn in it, which I really liked. We also got their sandwich which arejust several smaller strips of tenders. Treat yourself to their 20 oz pricklypear margaritas for only $8. It is THE BEST. Two more of those I would have no idea what life is. My fiance loved the prickly pear pale ale, which I didn't only because I don't like ales. Adding this to my "must return to" when we make our way back to Arizona. read more

Quick Summary Excellent fast casual fried chicken spot (highly recommend getting the honey butter over the original). Chicken was very tender and juicy. There isn't that much parking in their lot, so you may have to get some street parking, which isn't difficult. Food- 5 stars Ordered the 12 piece mix family meal with half original and half honey butter. The chicken was delicious, but I would recommend the honey butter over the original. We ordered the mash potatoes and broccoli salad with bacon. Both sides were good, but the chicken takes the cake Service- 5 stars Fast casual restaurant, but all the servers were attentative and friendly. There was plenty of seating Bottom Line Great spot for fried chicken, especially their honey butter sauce. Try to avoid rush hour times to avoid waiting. read more

This is a great choice for food while you're in Page. My husband and I shared: - Chicken Sandwich (Honey Butter) with Seasoned Fries - Thigh + Leg (Eddie Special) with Mac & Cheese - Donut Holes We really enjoyed the meal. I liked both of the sauces we got. The Eddie Special is a combination of their two sauces so it's a sweet & spicy combo which was good. I'm not a big fan of cake donuts and the donut holes were cake, so I wouldn't get those again. The line to order was really long at lunch, but the food came out very fast. They have a nice outdoor seating area too. read more
I stopped here during peak covid. The wait wasn't to long, people were nice and the food was amazing! The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I love the chicken gravy on the potatoes! Parking is limited and I would imagine the place gets packed during peak. I went before the lunch rush really hit. The bathrooms are located around back, I thought that was strange! Overall, I would go again if in the area. Love me some good fried chicken!!!!!! read more

Where do you go after visiting Antelope Canyon...the Birdhouse of course!! This restaurant is amazing and a great recommendation from our tour guide! The chicken is huge and perfectly fried crispy without being greasy. The skin had a spicy dry seasoning sprinkled on top that gave it an amazing flavor. The Mac and cheese was creamy and ok the pickled vegetables was really good and worth trying. The sodas they offered were classic and different. Service was attentive for a fast casual restaurant and the outdoor space was great for kids and a fun photo op with the gigantic chicken in the front of the restaurant. If you are ever in Page, AZ this spot is worth a stop! read more

This is literally the only place that has good food in Page. Yes, I know, so many other places are 'well rated', but this place was so solid, we came here for almost every single meal when we were here for two and a half days. Not only is the price good, but they have local beers, and they do a quick dine in or fast take out. I've had many much chicken sandwiches in my life. From the best of the best in Nashville to the fancy $30 ones in San Francisco. This sandwich absolutely rivals them! The crispiness, the flavors, the juiciness all combined with a soft bun and adequate pickles to amount to a delicious sandwich I'd have anywhere. Highly recommended, great service, and their spicy really isn't that spicy! read more
This is the best Mac n cheese I've ever had out, the chicken was clearly fresh and made from scratch, the sauces were finger licking good and the local beer topped it off. A true gem hidden in the high desert. Staying or just stopping through, make this a destination for your meal. Are you in the mood for some incredible food? Look no further than BirdHouse! What a gem this place is!! The food is to die for- it is incredibly flavorful and fresh and the staff that takes your order and serves you the food is super friendly and helpful! I got a chicken sandwich with a side of the broccoli salad.... Oh my gosh was it wonderful! The pickles on the sandwich are house made and oh so delicious! In between the brioche bun is a generous serving of chicken. You have the option of original, honey butter, or spicy. I elected for the honey butter and I was not disappointed! Just the right amount of crispy and sweet!! It was one of the BEST chicken sandwiches I have ever had in my life!! It is easy to escape the hot Arizona summers on the cool outdoor patio with mist blowing everywhere. It felt colder than AC! I cannot recommend this place more. Truly a special spot! Fried chicken place... pretty easy to tell from the outside with the chicken statue. Has picnic style tables both indoors and outdoors for seating. You order at the counter, and they bring the food out to your table. Ordered the regular fried chicken 8 pieces, with sides of fries and slaw. To be honest, it wasn't the most appetizing fried chicken, as the color was dark and looks a bit over-fried. But biting into the chicken showed otherwise. The skin was very crunchy and on the harder side for fried chicken I've tried, but it wasn't too hard to bite through. The meat inside had good flavor and was very juicy. A lot of fried chicken places have breast pieces that are dry, but not this place. The sides were decent. Not the cheapest fried chicken, but not expensive when compared to other types of restaurants. read more
My boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner while spending the weekend in Page. This was hands down the best meal we ate all weekend. We went during the week so it wasn't too busy. I'd say probably 50% of the tables were in use. It's self-seating so you can choose if you want to eat inside or outside. We were there in late April so the weather outside was perfect. The food? AMAZING. This isn't your generic chicken tender & fry combo; the tenders were big and juicy, the fries crispy and seasoned - it was all so good. We each got a meal and actually ended up with leftovers! Also want to give a shout-out to the employee who took our order. Jenny solidified this 5 star-rating for us. I've never been to a counter service restaurant where the employees actually walk around and check-up to see how the food is and if you need anything else. Okay okay I admit. I love fried chicken, but it has to be pretty damn good. I tend to favor bold recipes and the Birdhouse is nothing like it. However, it does stand on its own. I tried both original and honey butter. Honey butter was more to my liking. Both were crunchy and juicy. I also sampled their mashed potatoes and gravy as well as mac and cheese. The sides were also not salty at all. I believe they have something going right here. I wasn't dying for thirst as I typically do with food high in salt. If you ever stop by this small town it's worth trying. I appreciate different approaches when it comes to fried chicken. read more
Food, taste: 4.5/5 Ambiance: Casual quick dine in Service: 5/5 For those of you that know Gus' fried chicken, it's definitely one of the best spicy fried chicken I've ever had. Bird house's spicy chicken comes close and is just as juicy. I'm also a huge fan of tenders and the honey butter sauce hits on the money. Only downside for me was the mac and cheese is just okay. Thought this place looked trendy and the reviews were great on Yelp. There was a long line inside that wrapped around the counter. We tried ordering online since it was so crowded but couldn't get the same menu options as in the restaurant. TBH most people weren't wearing masks and standing on top of each other. I saw in another recent review they were closed for a CV breakout. So we ordered the spicy chicken breast and thigh with a cup of broccoli salad $9.50. Chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender. The skin had just the right amount of spice and breading. Prices were reasonable. Probably would order ahead and pick up next time. Page Arizona is a pretty small town, but the food here is top notch and exceeded expectation! Last time I checked, this place had 4.7 stars out of 5 on average, and I completely agree with all the hype! My friend and I arrived at 11 AM right when the restaurant open. The woman working the register was incredibly friendly, and very sweet. I got the thigh and drumstick combination, with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and also the broccoli salad. I have to say, the chicken was some of the juiciest that I've had a very long time! I got some of their house ranch dressing along with it, and this was an amazing combination, recommend 10 out of 10. The only nitpicky thing that I have to say about the chicken was that the skin felt a smidge overfried. However, that aside, it was a perfect piece of fried chicken! As far as the mashed potatoes, it was absolutely delicious. If I had the space, I would've ordered two! Regarding the broccoli salad, this was in a lighthouse stressing, with bacon and I think some pinenuts. Overall, pretty good but if you had to choose only one, I would still go with the mashed potatoes! In summary, we had fast service, friendly staff, and delicious food. God bless this chicken place! It was so GOOD! It was my first time visiting Arizona and we came here after doing an Antelope Canyon tour. The service was great, the ambiance was very laid back, we felt very welcomed. They provide indoor and outdoor seating which is a huge bonus for me. If you got a pup I'm sure you can dine outside in the porch which provides ample shade and they have mist for the hot days, just be aware of pesty flies. The chicken was tender and juicy, we ordered them spicy and it wasn't too spicy, more like mild. The mac n cheese was really good but you can taste the heavy dairy in it (I didn't mind it, it was very creamy and cheesy). The pickles were delicious, they had a sweet tangy flavor to them! Place is a 10/10 for me, try it if you're in the area!!! read more

We stopped for lunch at this Sonic-turned-Fried Chicken spot after touring the Lower Antelope Canyon on Sunday. While there was a line to order, it moved quickly; pro tip - you can order ahead online of you want to avoid the wait. They have some seating inside but most of it is outside in a covered patio. After ordering at the counter, servers bring out your food when it's ready. The fried chicken sandwich on brioche bun was finger-licking-good; I got that with a size of seasoned fries and cleared my plate. Their house sauce (tangy honey mustard) combined with ketchup was perfect with the fries. My husband got two pieces of fried chicken with a side of what I may cal the best restaurant Mac & Cheese ever. Do not miss the spot if you're in the Page/Lake Powell, AZ area. read more

Nom nom!! Birdhouse is frying up some damn good chicken and serving up some tasty sides! Can't decide? Try all the chicken flavors: original, honey butter, spicy (this packs some heat!), and bobby's special (spicy honey butter). The mac and cheese is the bomb! Creamy, cheesy deliciousness. The homemade pickles are tangy and crunchy. The coleslaw is fresh, cool, and crisp. The sides compliment the fried chicken so well. Oh,.. you MUST have the made to order donut holes for dessert! They are ridiculously good! read more
