Came here for some lunch, chicken and refreshments on a whim when we were in the area today. I hadn't been here in a while but always enjoy this place, great vibes and atmosphere! We sat in a booth near the front window so we could watch the world go by and ordered a wine and hazy IPA with some hot wings to start out our visit. Wings were great and our beverages were refreshing! I got their signature rotisserie chicken, which was fantastic as always, and she got the smoked grilled Cajun chicken sandwich, which was pretty tasty (according to her). We enjoyed our visit and the relax atmosphere. Our server was helpful and always available when we had a question. I hope this spot never goes away, cause I will always want to come by for some beer and chicken!

We live in Hollywood and went to Birds for one of the basketball games a couple weeks ago. We got the appetizer platter and it was delicious. The place was lively, decorated pretty. Had a good experience. Yesterday, I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap on postmates. It was gnarly. Not wrapped well, not enough sauce and not a very flavorful caesar dressing to begin with. The crispy chicken is weird in it and they also added tomatoes? I dont know what caesar salad has tomatoes but okay. 0/10 do not order that. The one i get from whole foods is better for 1/3 the price. The mac and cheese is nostalgic in a cafeteria food way... so do with that information what you like. Its playdoh-y rich in texture but not horrible i guess. I also ordered the chocolate cake slice. Dry. Pass. So far only the fried appetizers were worth our time and money.

Lively spot in the Franklin area. Seems like it could get busy before/after UCB shows. Fun but casual atmosphere. Onion ring tower was done well with 3 generous sauce sides. Good mozzerella sticks and cornbread. Pot pie was pretty good. Rotisserie chicken was also pretty good and came with solid sides. Tried it for dine LA which was a great deal off their regular menu. Would come back again

Birds is a classic. Wouldn't order the nachos again, but the sweet potato fries with Peruvian aji sauce were to die for

1/2 onion rings tower as an appetizer Kudos Birds for maintaining level of quality for so many years.

I have been wanting to go to this place Birds for like literally 2 decades. Well, I finally made it there yesterday. Better late than ever. Birds has been around for over 30 years. Since 1994. It truly is an interesting, cool, iconic, lovely, lively,, place with good vibes, food and ambiance. Also very CLEAN.My son and I got there around 5pm to have some dinner. We were greeted by their sweet, kind, humble host Scott that had a nice smile... and he walked us to our table immediately. Didn't take a minute before our server Gita D. approached us and took our order. I ordered their 1/2 all dark Rotisserie chicken with few of their sides on the side. Broccoli, Mac N Cheese, Cesar Salad, lavash and Corn Bread. My son got almost the same thing except 1/4 all Dark meat with one side. We shared the salad and the corn bread. Food was very tasty, except their Mac N Cheese. It was too watery, bland, lacking in seasoning, and it was not cooked right. Didn't agree with my palate. I have had better Mac N Cheese before in other restaurants. But the one I make is better than the rest. Moving forward to the service: Gita was nice, but her customer service was not all that. She only took our order and didn't see her again until it was time to pay. I mean she walked by our table at least like 7 times, and not even once checked up on us to see if we needed anything, or is everything ok? She was just there waiting for her shift to be over. It was very noticeable. She didn't even bring our food to our table. The host Scott did. Maybe they should switch positions?? Shout out to Scott for his hospitality. He needs a RAISE!!! They have a gorgeous looking Full BAR area with lots of tables and chairs for thirsty people who love and adore good quality alcohol/beverages of all kinds. Nice hallway, with clean bathrooms, and parking is another story. Good luck in finding parking. Cute patio with bright lights with full of nice people carrying conversation, eating, drinking and having a good time. I mean you only live once so.... 4 stars for the service and their parking. Will be back again to try other entrees & to have a drink. Will post pictures of BIRDS and US soon!!

Had a great experience here last night after seeing an improv show a couple of blocks away! I had here several times after seeing UCB shows but it's been a hot minute and it was just as lovely as I remembered! The vibe was fun on a Friday night and it was busy but not overwhelming crowded. The ambiance inside was quirky and upbeat. My friend and I joined a large group and they were able to accommodate extra seating for us. We sat outside which was perfect since the weather was so pleasant and we were able to people watch a bit. The service was very friendly and amicable. I wasn't hungry so I didn't order any food, but it was great to see some vegan options on the menu (although I do wish there were more!). I got a margarita which was delicious and had the perfect blend of mixer with tequila. It was just strong enough to feel a nice buzz and the rim was perfectly salted. Parking was a little tricky but I was able to find a spot on a side street not too far from the restaurant.

The staff was all so nice and kind here! I was actually really surprised to find such amazing staff at such a tourist type of spot. They were all just so great!!! The other clientele seemed to be coworkers there for happy hour, tourists popping by, then my friend and I! It was a good mix of people hanging out up there. I really liked the vibes. We went during happy hour which had a bunch of drink specials. I had a Mocktail which wasn't on the HH menu but it was so gorgeous and tasty! The Zombie ($12) had Grapefruit, lime juice, black iced tea, tiger's blood and was wonderful. I really appreciate when places put effort into their NA drinks. Also on the HH menu were a few food options and my friend had a $4 Steak Taco which he was happy with. I had the Box Office burger which was incredibly indulgent with A Cajun-spiced patty, balsamic onions, bacon jam, arugula and garlic aioli on a pretzel bun. Plus, they bring a little pan of melted blue cheese which they will pour tableside onto the burger for you. Cute! And I loved the burger. The wild mushroom tagliatelle was phenomenal the pasta was just right and oh those delicate but powerful herbs, divine! With dishes from Shirley Brasserie available all day, it's the perfect spot to enjoy everything from light bites to seasonal plates, surrounded by the warmth of the historic fireplace and the charm of this iconic setting." -- from The Roosevelt Hotel's website. Shirley Brasserie, the restaurant referred to above, is also located in The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (located next to The Lobby). The "iconic" they refer to is the fact that this hotel is historic -- it was built in 1926 during the Golden Era of Los Angeles architecture. It is named after Theodore Roosevelt. The first Academy Awards (Oscars) was held here in 1929. The hotel had its ups and downs since then but currently it looks beautiful and thriving. Take your out-of-state visiting friends/relatives to this place. Because this is a big part of "Hollywood". I recommend The Lobby to hang out after a long day's work or after a nice dinner nearby. This is where my sister and I went after our dinner at Musso and Frank. My sister ordered their Espresso Martini which was really good. I had a beer. Our server wasn't as warm as the ones during my visit in 2023. I think she was an introvert or a bit of a nervous person. But she did not seem potentially horrible. Restroom: I did not go to the restroom this time. I think there was a line. But I remember back in 2023 that you had to ask for a key or a code. Which is understandable for this area. Parking: I recommend the valet parking. If validated, the fee is really reasonable (I forgot how much they charged). We got ours validated because we ordered those drinks from The Lobby.

Even though this restaurant is a bar restaurant located in the Loews Hotel, the dishes are a lot more elevated and high-quality than I expected when compared to bar food. Food was actually very good. I didn't realize that food was Asian-Mexican fusion, but I have to say the mixture of flavors worked very well together. We ordered spicy tuna nigiri tacos, birria gyozas, skirt steak with Viet chimichurri sauce, ceviche, short-rib tacos, scallops with spicy hominy, and chai brownie for dessert. Every dish had great flavors and were seasoned very well. Steak was cooked perfectly and seafood quality tasted fresh. Hibiscus cocktail was also very tasty and refreshing. My only callouts were the chips for the ceviche were stale and the brownie was quite dry. Service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, checking on us constantly. Food pace was also well-timed and came out accordingly. The reason why I give this place a 4-star is because of the ambience. This bar restaurant is attached to the lobby and it can get very loud and rowdy with hotel guests sitting around. It would be better if the restaurant was separate from the lobby area to provide a more personal and less noisy dining experience. Also, the design could use some updating as it felt like eating in a restaurant located in a low-end casino. Ambience doesn't match the quality of the food.
