Came here for some lunch, chicken and refreshments on a whim when we were in the area today. I hadn't been here in a while but always enjoy this place, great vibes and atmosphere! We sat in a booth near the front window so we could watch the world go by and ordered a wine and hazy IPA with some hot wings to start out our visit. Wings were great and our beverages were refreshing! I got their signature rotisserie chicken, which was fantastic as always, and she got the smoked grilled Cajun chicken sandwich, which was pretty tasty (according to her). We enjoyed our visit and the relax atmosphere. Our server was helpful and always available when we had a question. I hope this spot never goes away, cause I will always want to come by for some beer and chicken!

Chicken Caesar Wrap Mac n cheese

We live in Hollywood and went to Birds for one of the basketball games a couple weeks ago. We got the appetizer platter and it was delicious. The place was lively, decorated pretty. Had a good experience. Yesterday, I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap on postmates. It was gnarly. Not wrapped well, not enough sauce and not a very flavorful caesar dressing to begin with. The crispy chicken is weird in it and they also added tomatoes? I dont know what caesar salad has tomatoes but okay. 0/10 do not order that. The one i get from whole foods is better for 1/3 the price. The mac and cheese is nostalgic in a cafeteria food way... so do with that information what you like. Its playdoh-y rich in texture but not horrible i guess. I also ordered the chocolate cake slice. Dry. Pass. So far only the fried appetizers were worth our time and money.

Lively spot in the Franklin area. Seems like it could get busy before/after UCB shows. Fun but casual atmosphere. Onion ring tower was done well with 3 generous sauce sides. Good mozzerella sticks and cornbread. Pot pie was pretty good. Rotisserie chicken was also pretty good and came with solid sides. Tried it for dine LA which was a great deal off their regular menu. Would come back again

Birds is a classic. Wouldn't order the nachos again, but the sweet potato fries with Peruvian aji sauce were to die for

1/2 onion rings tower as an appetizer Kudos Birds for maintaining level of quality for so many years.

I have been wanting to go to this place Birds for like literally 2 decades. Well, I finally made it there yesterday. Better late than ever. Birds has been around for over 30 years. Since 1994. It truly is an interesting, cool, iconic, lovely, lively,, place with good vibes, food and ambiance. Also very CLEAN.My son and I got there around 5pm to have some dinner. We were greeted by their sweet, kind, humble host Scott that had a nice smile... and he walked us to our table immediately. Didn't take a minute before our server Gita D. approached us and took our order. I ordered their 1/2 all dark Rotisserie chicken with few of their sides on the side. Broccoli, Mac N Cheese, Cesar Salad, lavash and Corn Bread. My son got almost the same thing except 1/4 all Dark meat with one side. We shared the salad and the corn bread. Food was very tasty, except their Mac N Cheese. It was too watery, bland, lacking in seasoning, and it was not cooked right. Didn't agree with my palate. I have had better Mac N Cheese before in other restaurants. But the one I make is better than the rest. Moving forward to the service: Gita was nice, but her customer service was not all that. She only took our order and didn't see her again until it was time to pay. I mean she walked by our table at least like 7 times, and not even once checked up on us to see if we needed anything, or is everything ok? She was just there waiting for her shift to be over. It was very noticeable. She didn't even bring our food to our table. The host Scott did. Maybe they should switch positions?? Shout out to Scott for his hospitality. He needs a RAISE!!! They have a gorgeous looking Full BAR area with lots of tables and chairs for thirsty people who love and adore good quality alcohol/beverages of all kinds. Nice hallway, with clean bathrooms, and parking is another story. Good luck in finding parking. Cute patio with bright lights with full of nice people carrying conversation, eating, drinking and having a good time. I mean you only live once so.... 4 stars for the service and their parking. Will be back again to try other entrees & to have a drink. Will post pictures of BIRDS and US soon!!

To be brief, she made a snide comment about the portion sizes not being like the Cheesecake Factory when we asked if she'd recommend we share (nothing wrong with the Cheesecake Factory!). Additionally, she came back to tell us she wouldn't run our card because it had a security sticker on it. Lo and behold, when my friend told her it'd be fine it went through with no problems. The food was wonderful - we loved the steak the ceaser salad dressing was amazing but the fish item - the Nagril item was too deep fried and instead of sending it back - we were starving after our 1 hour and 45 minutes for it to arrive. in the end we did what FERNANDO asked us to - write a review - but in LA : We leave places like this and while smart dishes like 'The Parkway' or a 'Knuckle Sandwich' are ready to be presented - we would have cashed out asap if we had known that the non-action in the kitchen was a thing. The Chef might have been from New York - but he was no where to be found - much like his kitchen staff staring back into the dining room - with. their. mouths. open. Give this place time. They are creating unnecessary obstacles and dont have enough staff to justify the dead silence for the hours you will wait to receive anything - nothing is bussed - nothing is cleaned and nothing will be addressed during the times you could easily leave without paying for the bill. Unfortunately, we left feeling more disappointed than impressed. To start on a positive note, we were seated on time, and all four of our cocktails were well-made and enjoyable. Unfortunately, that's where the positives mostly ended. Our overall dining experience lasted over 2.5 hours, which was simply excessive. We were seated outside, and for most of the evening we appeared to be the only table outside being served. Despite that, everything moved at an incredibly slow pace. Several items we ordered were either never entered or never brought out, which only added to the frustration. For appetizers, the Caesar Brûlée was the biggest disappointment. It honestly tasted spoiled and had an unpleasant aftertaste that made it difficult to enjoy. The Curry Corn "Ribs" had a nice flavor, and the Lemon Pepper Brussels Sprouts were easily the favorite dish of the night. The $23 bread basket, consisting of two fish-shaped pieces of cornbread and four small pieces of focaccia, felt very overpriced for what was served. For our entrees, we ordered the For Goodness Steak and the Bama Smoke smoked chicken. The steak itself was cooked to the requested temperature and had good flavor, but it arrived only lukewarm, which took away from the experience. The smoked chicken breast was tender but lacked seasoning, and the Alabama white sauce wasn't what we'd expect from authentic Southern-style Bama sauce. We were also excited to try the restaurant's famous oxtail pot pie, but unfortunately it had already sold out by the time we arrived. What made the evening even more disappointing was the lack of hospitality. When we expressed our frustration about the long waits, we were told they were busy inside--as if sitting outside somehow explained or justified the delays. Had we been informed that outside service would be significantly slower, we could have made an informed decision or at least adjusted our expectations. Even more surprising, during a meal that lasted over two and a half hours, not one manager or member of leadership stopped by to apologize, check on our experience, or acknowledge the obvious service issues. Overall, the food was average at best, with a couple of standout appetizers, but nothing that justified the lengthy wait or made us eager to return. Service and hospitality are just as important as the food, and unfortunately both fell well short of expectations. Based on this experience, it's highly unlikely that we'll be back.

The back half is a more traditional seating area with booths and beautiful murals. The restaurant has an interesting and creative cocktail list that was difficult to choose from. We tried the Paradis and Marigny No. 2. I preferred the Paradis - it was reminiscent of a tropical tiki drink. The Marigny No. 2 was also nice, floral, and refreshing, but strong. Our waitress recommended 2-3 dishes per person, so we opted for the deviled eggs (snack), cornbread (app), dry-aged steak burger (main), and rockfish with clams and grits (main). The deviled eggs and rockfish were my favorite. The eggs had a really rich flavor, and the tuna added a unique twist on an otherwise familiar dish. The rockfish had a perfectly spicy, buttery sauce, and the grits were the perfect accompaniment. I wasn't a fan of the cornbread; the predominant taste was of being burned, and the bread was flat and dense, rather than being fluffy. The tomato jam was definitely the surprisingly sweet star of that dish. Without the jam, the cornbread isn't very pleasant to eat. I also thought the burger was just ok, nothing standout, but solid. They only make 24 burgers a night, so ask your server if they're still available if that's what you're ordering. For dessert, we ordered the profiteroles with brown butter ice cream, pecan sauce, and dates. It was a perfect ending to the night - the dessert was super rich and decadent. Parking is limited to metered street parking or nearby parking lots. Service is warm and friendly without being overbearing, but can take a while. Overall, the experience was pleasant with some hits and some misses. The menu is certainly unique and overall worth trying if you're feeling a bit adventurous.
