Drove by once and didn't see it .. came back around and found it looked closed up because of the shades pulled down from direct sunlight.. it's a cheap fix. But I'd suggest - painted seasonal signage and some window tint to make it cooler inside and reflect an open appearance -if possible outside a few tables with umbrellas would be cool.. - the inside is all business - clean - and minimalist- should have some play on words of the name "roots" mural - I'm just sitting here waiting for the pizza .. it's been roughly 25 mins ...Ive witnessed lots of customers... You really can't mess up fire pizza unless your dough and sauce are bland. I'm guessing it won't be.. so based on everything else .. this place is promising. Ohh.. it just arrived. It's good.. fresh. 10/4/25, just a few minutes after they opened at 4:00. We had pizza here once a few years ago and it was tasty. That time, we chatted with the owner who was cheerful and passionate about her hubby's craft. Today, we were greeted with a look of annoyance and impatience by the young lady at the counter, who told us we could sit wherever we liked after we ordered at the counter. Those kinds of wall menus can feel stressful- feeling like you're holding others up while you try to decide. I asked if there were paper menus we could browse at our table first and her answer was clipped and rude- condescending. "Our menu is gonna be up here". We were gonna just sit down and check out the menu on our phones, but when I turned to look at my husband, he raised his eyebrows at me. He'd felt her vibe, too. The 4 of us quietly and unanimously decided to go somewhere else. We ended up at Vicino, where a really lovely gal spotted us and immediately welcomed us with a smile and warm demeanor, despite the fact that she had her hands full. We heard the dough was sourdough based - which is much better for our bodies - so we stopped in this evening for dinner. We we so pleased to learn that the dough had been fermenting for over 36 hours, and we ordered the Date & Bacon pizza, as well as a large 1/2 Wolf Pack + 1/2 Kalamata Olive pizza. Tried this spot after hearing good things and it mostly lived up to the hype. The wood-fired crust had great texture and a smoky flavor I really liked. Cheese was gooey and well-balanced with the sauce. It got a little oily but not in a bad way. The ambiance was nice for a pizza place, kind of rustic and modern. I hate to do this but the amount of positive reviews are deceiving. Our group decided to try here based on the reviews once discovering our normal place was closed for the holiday. And unfortunately it was a true disappointment. Not sure how a glass of wine and 2 gluten free pizzas (4 slices each) equate to a $70 tab while seating yourself, getting your own plates napkins and drinks is a thing. Taking it a step further the pizza itself was somehow burnt and doughie at the same time, lacking any real flavor. The wine tasted as if it had been open for a bit or from the bottom shelf with top shelf prices. Two very friendly people were working, maybe the owners? Very helpful with menu items, explaining options. 10" was perfect size for me personally, my wife also had one. I had the typical combo, she had a make your own with caramelized onion cream sauce which was very very good. My pizza was cooked perfectly in the wood fire oven, top notch. Chain restaurants pizza sauce typically gives me heartburn, not this place. Everything tasted fresh, washed it down with an NA IPA served in a pint glass. (Really appreciate this option, very thoughtful for those with allergies!) 100% would return, looking forward to bringing the kids next time. Tables inside for dine in. After reading some really great reviews on Nextdoor, we decided to get our Friday carb pizza night on. We chose the "Typical Combination Pizza." WOW, the crust is the BEST we've had in a long time. New York tasty crust. We will be a regular. I highly recommend. ATTENTION Tourists, visitors.....feed the family when you visit. It's located on a street that leads into downtown.
