[[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was fantastic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went for lunch and it wasn't too crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Portions were good and prices were reasonable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and service was great.

Fried Green Tomatoes that were red and hard but okay. They tried.

They never disappoint! I took an out of town guest there on 7/22/26, and they said it was some of the best fish they have ever had. They even commented that Spokane isn't exactly known for heavily seasoned food, but they said they would definitely return. Great job to the team! The only downside was the flies, which were a bit bothersome. However, the excellent food and overall experience more than made up for it. 5 stars!

Vieux Carré NOLA Kitchen is a rare find, New Orleans-inspired restaurant in downtown Spokane. That also explained, they really focus on bold and strong southern flavors. What we ordered: * Whipped Honey Cornbread: Seared edges, whipped honey butter, and scallions. Honestly addictive. Sweet, buttery, slightly crisp on the outside and soft inside! I just can't stop eating them * Hush Puppies: Served hot and crunchy with Louisiana Come Back sauce. Simple but really well done, especially with this dipping sauce. * Poached Pear Salad: Sweet poached pears, with a nutty flavor from candied pecans and dried cherries. I don't like goat cheese so I just pretend it didn't exist Light but flavorful, with a nice balance of sweet and tangy to pair with 2 heavy dishes above. * Voodoo Pork Chop: My main dish, I was surprised with the huge portion (10oz chop), served with collard greens, creole sauce, and sweet potatoes. Pork was incredibly tender and juicy, a bit salty but this is one of the best ones I've had in a while. It honestly felt like two servings and is definitely shareable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is beautiful with eclectic interior design, warm lighting, and a staircase that gives the whole place a nice vibe for dinner. You can take good selfie inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, the experience was great. Good food, generous portions, and a cozy lively atmosphere. Definitely a place I'd come back to!!!!!

Came with a group of 4 on a Monday night. The interior is gorgeous and will transport you straight to the finest restaraunt in the French Quarter. The food is delicious and flavorful for sure but some of it was so salty it took away from the overall wonderful flavor. Everything is buttery / creamy / heavy in true Southern fashion. Drinks - The Southern Cobbler ($14) Drink is amazing. Apps- Whipped Honey Cornbread ($11) - Such pretty presentation, and yummy too. This was like a dessert almost. Steamed Mussels ($19) - Lovely and great flavor (love the addition of capers) but too salty. Entree - Beef Short Ribs ($45) - Amazing, fork-tender, with the decadent mushroom risotto but again, too salty :( Cajun Pasta (#28) - So creamy, rich, and amazing Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Grits ($25) - Loved this, the sweet BBQ "jam" was wonderful with the grits Staff are nice :)

Who would have thought my hometown had an amazing NOLA restaurant? [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor and cuisine were on point.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Crab beignets were creative. It was love at first bite.

Gabriel... simply amazing. Top notch conversation, service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just a stunning touch to the readily available ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I just arrived from Chicago after a decade of enjoying absolute culinary perfection in the area, and this place takes me home. I'm sure to be a regular.

    Daiquiri and Vieux carre

We stopped by here on our way to CDA. This place has a beautiful ambiance; I loved the table decor, the plants, and the piano. We started with some drinks - a daiquiri and a vieux carre of course, along with red crab beignets. The drinks were great and so were the beignets. For mains, we got the shrimp and grits and jambalaya. The shrimp and grits were fantastic, the jambalaya was ok too, although the portion was slightly smaller. Service was good, and the staff was friendly. Definitely a great place to stop by.

We made reservations for 4:30pm on a Friday and were glad we did. The folks who arrived right after us had to sit at the bar. As far as food, the winners were my sweetheart's selections--the pork grillades and grits, and the bananas Foster. I would fight someone for either of them. We shared the Cajun fried shrimp to start. It was pretty good, and overpriced. I ordered the jambalaya and the bread pudding. The jambalaya was mediocre, and the bread pudding was good, but not great. Service was good, and the place was clean and had a peaceful vibe. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 thanks to that pork and bananas Foster.

I truly love Vieux Carre and it's one of those beautiful but welcoming restaurants where I can take visitors from out of town, friends out for a special meal, or can stop by for just a drink and dessert. The food is always so good and comforting. The bananas foster is what dreams are made of. I will be getting the gumbo to go this winter just for a warm up! Servers are always so fun and helpful too.

10/10!!! Everything was delicious . The chicken & sausage gumbo was made with perfect homemade rue and had just the right kick of heat. Not picture are the red crab beignets which where to die for. The croissant bread pudding is a must have. I loved the Southern Cobbler cocktail, that I had two. I wish I had found this place early on my trip because I definitely would have eaten her more than once. Lexie was an amazing & attentive server!

Bacon wrapped shrimp with cheesy grits 5/5 stars!! Don't sleep on this!!
    Chris C.

This place did not disappoint!! Was service a little slow, yeah... but the wait was well worth it. The food definitely was knocked out of the park. That's to our server, he recommended the bacon wrapped shrimp and the combo of flavors going on there was incredible. Will definitely be back the next time we come though.

You could easily (and maybe have...) walk past it and not even know. I found my way in and was faced with a dark room and a wonderfully lit display of liquors. They infuse many of their own and offer flights of infused whiskeys. The drink menu has options that feature many different spirits. I chose a gin and citrus drink that was a wonderful blend of bitter and refreshing. I made myself sip it slowly, but it was tasty enough that I could have thrown it back. The bar tender was friendly and attentive, as well as knowledgeable. The room seemed to be recovering from the recent Hoopfest...there were coolers and some things in the back of the space. There were also a LOT of bottles on the counter behind the bar. I don't know if it is always like this, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely go back for the drink and to show it off to friends.

Most recently, on a Friday evening around 7 PM, my party was seated near the end of the bar by the restroom area. A server approached me in a confrontational manner and told me to move my chair because it was blocking the walkway. I immediately complied and moved it where he directed. Despite that, he repeatedly pushed and squeezed past the chair in an aggressive way several times afterward and then returned to confront me about it again. The interaction felt hostile, unnecessary, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. On a previous visit, a female server was rude and controlling toward our table, and on another occasion when we were unhappy with a menu item, the response was essentially, "You ordered it, you pay for it," with no attempt to address the concern professionally. The atmosphere is great, which is why we've continued to come back. However, after several visits involving rude and confrontational interactions with staff, it feels more like an ongoing culture issue than a one-time bad experience. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic courtesy and respect. Hopefully management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the customer experience.

I liked how even though the place was small, the mixologist wasn't in our face and he paid attention to what he was doing, taking care with our orders. They have a nicely stocked bar with more options across the board than I would expect. But the reason this gem shines is because of their creative and delicious drink menu. I highly recommend trying it, especially if you enjoy trying drinks you can't get anywhere else that are made with quality ingredients and perfectly mixed flavors. Even if you aren't an adventurous drinker, I think you'll find something that will appeal (although I'm sure they can make a delicious version of your favorite drink). I write this because I'm super basic about the cocktails I like and rarely venture out of my comfort zone, until something sounds good. I don't like brandy, never heard of peacorn (peach and corn) syrup, but the Peacorn Sour called to me, and it was soooo worth it. I also tasted S's cocktail, though I've forgotten the name, and it had bourbon, which I don't like on its own at all, and I thought it was good. Not drink an entire one on my own good, but if I liked bourbon, this would be fantastic! good. (S confirmed the quality.) We'll be going back, and I'll look forward to whatever new delights they have to offer.
