We ordered a plain cheese quesadilla with (thin) crema (good but boring as you might guess), Blackened Chicken BSTA salad (nice salad but the salad dressings - blue cheese then Ranch were nearly flavorless as they also were thin and runny). We went to Cascadia Public House on a Sunday with pretty high expectations after reading so many good reviews, but unfortunately it was a letdown from start to finish. The biggest issue right away was how long the food took. It felt like we were waiting forever, and by the time it finally came out, it definitely didn't feel worth it. We started with the pretzel, which honestly was nothing like a pretzel. It tasted more like glorified fried dough and didn't have that classic pretzel texture or flavor at all. For drinks, mine was way too strong and just didn't taste good. It wasn't balanced at all and ended up being hard to even enjoy. For my main, I ordered the Cascadia burger medium, but it came out clearly well done and overcooked. On top of that, the egg on it was severely undercooked.. some of the whites were still clear and slimy, which completely ruined it for me. I had also heard good things about the mac and cheese, so I gave it a try, but that was another disappointment. It was bland and runny, and even after adding salt and pepper, it still had no real flavor. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich, which wasn't terrible, but it was definitely on the dry side. They were also out of fries, so he had to get fruit instead, which was kind of disappointing. While passing through the area we had a great experience at the Cascadia public house. Starting off though I do want to point out it was a little confusing what to do upon entering the restaurant since there was no hostess stand or seat yourself sign to let you know what to do. We seated ourselves but I think the hostess was just busy when we entered because we saw others being shown a table during our dining experience. After being seated, we ordered the pretzel appetizer. It was delicious! Soft and pillowy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It was a bit different texture than normal pretzels as it had a fried crispness to it despite the fact that it wasn't fried. The cheese compliment with the mustard rim was good as well. For my main meal I got the Cajun ranch chicken with garlic fries. The fries were delicious. Well battered and crispy accentuated by the aioli sauce. My one complaint here is to maybe have the aioli be a dipping sauce instead of a drizzle because some of the fries had too much and some had too little. The sandwich was ok, the chicken was a touch overdone and the sauce was a bit lacking in flavor. I definitely didn't come away from the sandwich with a "wow that was Cajun!" Feel in my tastebuds... I think if they didn't cook the chicken as long and spiced up or added more sauce this would have been a 5 star meal. We will be back whenever we're in the area! read more

This is probably the fourth time I've been to Cascadia. I live out of state, but I make a point to pop in when I'm in Spokane. Their pretzels are so addicting. They're huge, fluffy, salty and crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Only thing I don't like is I prefer the mustard and not the cheese, but they were gonna charge me extra for mustard. That seemed a little ridiculous to me. But moving on, the salad was so good. Been to Cascadia a handful of times now. The setting and ambiance is always good there especially their patio. They have daily specials on drinks that makes the drinks very affordable. I ended up ordering the trailblazer burger and I was very impressed. Service was fast and food came out in a timely manner. Every time we come here, we leave happy and full! My husband and I took my parents here recently and we sat outside on their patio. The drinks, food and service were all fantastic. The service was excellent! Our server was super sweet and made our experience so great. We went for restaurant week and tried a few things off the menu. My goodness was all the food absolutely delicious. I can't recommend this place more. The pretzels there are so unique and delicious. Best pretzels ever. Had there shrimp tacos that was a flavor melody I wasn't expecting and it left me wanting more. Finally the strawberry oat bar was simply the best tasting thing I've had in a while and it melted in your mouth. Soooooo amazing! The ambience was a bit loud as it is a small space but I wouldn't want it to be any bigger other wise you would be able to see the amazing chef's in the kitchen whipping up your food. This place was really good and I am even more impressed I found it on a whim. Not only was the food drool worthy, but the service was immaculate, and the outdoor seating ambiance was such a vibe. My boyfriend and I just adopted our sweet puppy and drove six house to get him so we needed an outdoor, dog friendly spot. Although this place is in an odd spot with a not great parking situation, it is worth the stop. Service is always stellar and the food is so very good. Outstanding actually. It is a pretty open restaurant so it can get a bit loud when it's busy. They will set up tables for groups as well and will really accommodate whoever comes in the door. Omg! Decided to stop in Spokane for lunch and of course checked yelp. So glad I did. The food was Amazing ! I had a shrimp po boy...and garlic fries. Friends had the N.Y French dip, and chicken pesto sandwich. All was good ....so worth the 15 min drive off the highway. Parking was a bit rough tho, super busy. The staff was kind and so helpful. We stopped in to the Cascadia Public House this evening; we've passed this restaurant many times but this was our first visit. It was the first nice day of spring and they had the big barn door open to the patio seating so we sat outside, which was so nice after a long winter. They have a decent selection of beer on tap which we like. Husband ordered the shrimp and grits and I had the chicken salad but I could not resist ordering a pretzel even though I knew it would be too much. The pretzel was like no pretzel I've ever had. It was just heaven: crisp and buttery on the outside and very soft on the inside and the cheese and mustard sauce only made it better. My salad was fresh baby spinach with avocado, tomatoes, etc topped with the most tender chicken. Husband's shrimp and grits were amazing. The shrimp had a sauce on them that had the right amount of heat and the grits were cheesey and creamy. He was very impressed. Our main waiter was very friendly as were the several others that served us. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back. read more

Found this with yelp after landing in Spokane on our way to Glacier. Seated quickly for lunch, looks toa local place! Nice art on walls (for sale!) I ordered blackened chicken spinach bacon tomato avocado salad and my husband got the crispy chicken sandwich per server's suggestion. Salad was excellent, with very nice presentation! Nicely sliced avocado, great blackened chicken too. My husband's sandwich was awesome. Fresh fruit was freshly sliced apple and blueberries... not something out of a bag! We had a great server who checked up on us often and I liked that. I got the buffalo cauliflower wings, and like everyone says there are plenty of veggie+vegan options on this menu. The wings had a nice batter but maybe not fried long enough to be the ideal crispiness, a lot of it was coming off of the cauliflower pieces as I was eating which is not ideal. Big chunks of cauliflower though and the buffalo sauce was DELICIOUS. Great spiciness and tang, so yummy with the ranch. I would get it again just for the sauce, thinking back it was honestly so good. Been here a few times the past couple of years but unfortunately just feel like things have gone downhill. Tried the vegan margarita flatbread and it was good flavor wise but was definitely over cooked and the burnt flavor was a bit too much on the crust especially. It was also disappointing to have the flatbread overcooked but we also got the bbq tofu sandwich which came out cold. Maybe if the timing of the dishes was better we would have enjoyed it more but the tofu sandwich was not very good cold. We came here for lunch after reading some solid reviews on their food. We came in and we're sat right away. Our waiter was super prompt in getting us some menus and waters. The water had the delicious soft pebble ice instead of the big chunky ice. Always a fan of the pebble ice. We ordered some happy hour chips and salsa, only $3 and they said it was happy hour all day Sunday. For our main dish we ordered the Cascadia Burger. We're always down for a burger with bacon, cheese and a fried egg but find ourselves always comparing it to our all time favorite one (Paradise Valley Burger Company, Burger Brûlée, Phoenix, AZ). One thing our favorite doesn't have is Tillamook cheese, which we prefer having grown up in WA and now live out of state. The burger was a tower of flavors and was a hefty eat. We ended up knife and forking it. The egg wasn't as runny as we were expecting but all the toppings went well together. Not one outshined or overpowered another. We had asked for no tomato but it came with it and so we had to pick it off, but that wasn't a big deal. We had them split the burger for us to share so I just took all the tomato on my half. Burger came with fries and it was a good amount, even though we spilt. That's aways appreciated when you don't get skimped out on for sides just because you want to split the main part of the dish. All I'm trying to say is not every seat there is created equal Service was solid, though. Our waters were constantly refilled, and we drank a lot, so props to them for that Food-wise, the fries were cold, which isn't ideal. I got the chimichurri steak sandwich, and the beef itself was well-browned, tasted good, and there was plenty of it, but it was dry. Like, Sahara dry. And for something that's supposed to be a chimichurri steak sandwich, the chimichurri was basically nonexistent. If they had just loaded it up, it would've fixed the dryness. Instead, I ended up dunking it in ranch, so I guess I had a ranch steak sandwich. Not the worst, but definitely not what I was expecting.
