On different occasions I have found items sold out and it takes weeks until you see them again. What's worse is waiting to pay for your items. Clearly people shouldn't be waiting in line if they haven't finished their shopping. Every time I go, someone parks their cart in line and goes on to get other things. I can understand if they simply forgot an item, but almost all the time that isn't the case. And the workers or people running the place never say a thing about it. Oh and they don't accept returns, regardless if they weren't opened or damaged etc.. Like I said, it can be disappointing. Many others would agree with me. Don't really care what people will think. See before your own eyes!

On this trip, we scored 19-ounce cans of Dinty Moore Beef Stew for just $2.99 each and stocked up with four cans. We also found a one-pound container of ghee for $17, Bonne Maman raspberry tarts for $2.99, and authentic Middle Eastern pita bread for only $2.79. Along with those bargains, we picked up grapes, tiny shrimp, oysters, and blueberry muffins. Our total came to $74, and we left with a bag packed full of groceries. These days, it's rare to walk out of a grocery store with this much food for well under $100. Grocery Outlet continues to be one of the best places to stretch a grocery budget while discovering products you might not find anywhere else.

The security guards they hired, in the beginning would always follow me around the store. Fortunately the last few visits they've stayed mainly at the entrance. I've seen the plainclothes loss prevention staff follow me around as well. They stand out so much because they don't have a cart or basket. They're behind me in every aisle. That isn't a coincidence. I wonder if they do this with all the white folks. I doubt it. Make sure you check the expiration date on each item before putting it in your cart. I have found many surprising gems here. My favorite is the sweet and tangy ginger chips in a blue bag from Hawaiian company. I've never seen it anywhere else. They have a high staff turnover rate here. It's always a different set of employees during each visit.

On top of that, they'd refuse to sell the bag if it's been "open" in the store. Such was the case when one of the bok choy bags blew open at the cash register. Cash register lady told me they don't sell it that way. Surprisingly I then had to justify my purchase to THEM indicating it had just opened up now! She had me verify and give her the red tape that was holding the bag. I inadvertently looked around and found it on the ground. I picked it up off the floor and threw it on the counter to "prove" I didn't open it up beforehand. Lol. I mean cmon now this ghetto looking store is lucky they got customers even buying from them including these not so fresh items! Huff. Should've known. With such a bad experience this place MUST be in the hole to treat their customers this way. Please store owners: go beyond the transaction, and counting each penny AND LOST. Focus on customer experience and better demand planning especially in the produce and meat/seafood aisle (according to another yelper they sell stale meat/seafood, GROSS). For everyone else go to the other Pacific Market up the road where there's fresh items and better customer experience!

I know that you are supposed to wash them before cooking and eating, but I'm taking about several caterpillars hiding between the leaves of vegetables. I'm terrified of all kinds of creepy crawlies, so I had to ask my husband to help with the veggies haha. I do appreciate that they have a decent variety of foods. I actually came here for veggies and the fruit-shaped ice cream on a stick. They were vital on TikTok for a while. Prices here are actually a little pricier compared to other Asian grocery stores that I have been to. I do like that there's a parking lot. Their shopping carts are kind of gross, but it's kind of expected since this place has been around for a long time. I do think that it's pretty cool that if you buy fish here, you can ask them to fry it for you! They will clean it and fry it. It's pretty tasty. They have snacks, drinks, poultry, cooked food items Chinatown style where you can buy food by weight. They also have seafood, many noodle brands, candies, tea, coffee, fresh produce and much more. Their frozen section has much more than just ice cream like frozen lumpia, gyoza, udon, and even vegan nem chua and of course lots of different brands of Longanisa. I actually came here one day looking for nem chua, but was surprised they only carried a vegan version. It's hard to find nem chua around South San Francisco and Daly City area. I come here once in a while still to get my favorite seasoning. I cook quite often so I like to grab multiple of the cumin and spices seasoning. I just wish that it came in a bigger container or like a pouch instead so I can refill the previous bottle/jar. It fees so wasteful getting the small bottle of seasoning when I can just be reusing that glass bottle. If you haven't checked out this Pacific Market, I'd say it's worth checking out. I do wish that the market was a little cleaner looking.
