This is the first time I wished Yelp had a 'zero stars' option. My grandmother has had a pair of…read morehearing aids for 5 years that suddenly stopped working. We received a brochure in the mail for Sterling Hearing Center and made an appointment to get new ones made for her. On our first visit, they took a mold of her ears. While doing so, the tech over filled my grandmother's ear and dripped the substance all over her jacket and shirt; both having to be thrown out due to the white/beige stain that resembles caulk and wouldn't come out. That should've been the first sign that this place was a joke. The following appointment was meant for her to try on her new hearing aids. We show up only to be told the first set of molds for her ears were misplaced and had to be taken again. This would have made me decide to go elsewhere, but due to several of us taking care of my grandmother, she unfortunately went through way too many appointments with myself, my sister, mother, and aunt. For the next appointment, she tried on the hearing aids that were made from her second mold set, but they didn't fit! They had to do everything over again, FOR THE THIRD TIME after FOUR APPOINTMENTS. The staff works out of this location on Wednesdays only; we had to wait a week to get something done. After her hearing aids were said to finally be done, we went to check them out. While they were being tuned up, we heard a whistling noise coming from one of the hearing aids and the other didn't quite fit. The device that didn't fit was shaved down and the other was left alone because the tech said "that is the heating vent you're hearing, not the hearing aid whistling." We took the set home, my grandmother seemingly satisfied. After an hour, the hearing aid started whistling and wouldn't stop. When we asked my grandmother if she could hear, she said she could hear from one that whistles and the other doesn't work at all. When they shaved down her hearing aid, they broke it. I asked my grandmother why she didn't say anything, she said she was sick of going back and forth in the snow and decided to deal with it. I had enough. I made another appointment and made it very clear that I needed brand new ones made. I was promised that new ones would be made and programmed in one last appointment. We went in for the "final" appointment and get taken back into one room by a gentlemen stating he is "assisting" with the new hearing aids and asked to see the old ones. I gave him the old ones as requested. We were then called back into the room where they program the hearing aids. They tried to re-program the exact same garbage pair that was made incorrectly to begin with and new ones were never ordered! They lied and then tried to scam us. TRUST ME when I say this, if you care about your loved ones, you will NOT bring them here. This staff is completely under-qualified, unprofessional, dishonest, and they are taking advantage of the elderly. I would never recommend these crooks to anyone. They charged us $3,000 for a pair of hearing aids that didn't work and tried everything they could to avoid ordering her a brand new pair that they didn't screw up. We took the hearing aids off and left them on the desk and left. They refused to give us a refund; we had to submit a charge-back claim with our credit card company to get our money back. We went through hell for just over two months and got nowhere. We finally took my grandmother to Costco and got her a brand new pair for half the price, fitted, and programmed within two weeks. This place is a scam. BEWARE!

I started seeing Dr. Natarajan in December of 2019. It all started on Thanksgiving morning, 2019,…read morewhen I shot at a deer while hunting. I waited 2 weeks before going to my Ears, Nose and Throat doctor who confirmed my hearing loss was permanent and highly recommended Dr. Natarajan to me. On my first visit to Dr. Natarajan I went in screaming and kicking because I could not accept the fact that I may need hearing aids. My thought process was 'hearing aids are for "old" people and I was only 65 years old'. Dr. Natarajan sensed right away my reluctance and calmed my fears by noting 2 things to me 1) Nobody will even notice you are wearing hearing aids because so many people, today, are wearing 'things' in their ears (like ear buds, etc.) 2) If you can't see you wear glasses so if you can't hear you wear hearing aids. That second statement really hit home because I have had poor vision most of my life. I finally gave in and we proceeded with the hearing test and hearing aid fitting. Over the years I have visited Dr. Natarajan many times for either insurance sponsored new hearing aids and routine maintenance which the Doctor executes in a timely manner right in her office. There were a few times that my hearing aids had a mechanical problem and needed to be sent out to the lab to fix. When hearing aids have to be sent to a lab, Dr.Natarajan always expedites the process so you do not have to wait very long for your corrected hearing aids (usually within a week). PLUS. she provides 'loaner' hearing aids until your hearing aids come back repaired. Once my hearing aids suddenly broke down a day before an out of town vacation. I called Dr. Natarajan about my predicament. She brought home some loaners and I went to her house to pick them up, Vacation saved! Now that was 'top shelf' customer service. Dr. Natarajan always treats your money like it was her money and always finds the most cost effective solution for you. As noted above, Dr. Natarajan is very experienced, knowledgeable, and most important to me, is that she is always friendly, greets you with a smile and has a very comforting 'bedside manner'. Dr. Natarajan has a big, clean office conveniently located on Northwestern Highway in Farmington Hills. Her building is easy to find and has plenty of handicap parking for those of us who need it. Dr. Natarajan's staff is a mirror image of herself, being extremely kind, courteous and with customer service that is second to none. As you can see, I would highly recommend Dr. Natarajan. My only hope is that she out lives me so I will not have to find another audiologist.
