The best Tijuana style birria I have ever tried. The service was great, so I totally recommend.

I ordered that with a side of mac and cheese. $20 later I was given a plate with what looked like a delicious sandwich and Mac and cheese. I went to pick up the sandwich and the bottom bun must have had that meat sitting on it for 10 min.. It was completely soggy and had to use a fork to try and eat the meat which had a substantial amount of fat I should have taken it back. The Mac and cheese my kid lives.. He took one bite and didn't eat any of the rest.. I didnt either. . It was Luke warm.. And very little of any flavor. Comon guys.. If you're gonna have $20 sandwich out there.. Make it memorable. Switch out the bun.. For goodness sakes.. It would have made a big difference. You were not busy.. And even if you were.. Do the right thing.

Please don't let my terrible photos stop you from eating this delicious BBQ…read more Yes, the prices are a little steep (similar to the prices charged by ALL food trucks) but you get a TON of absolutely delicious BBQ. We tried the pulled pork sandwich and the smoked beef sandwich. They were both terrific and you get an absolutely MOUND of meat with both dishes. The BBQ sauce used was a tad sweet but not too sweet. Both proteins were incredibly tender and juicy. We also tried the mac and cheese and beans and, as with the meats, you get a ton of whatever side you order (you get one side per plate). The mac was a little dry but still delicious. The beans were smoky and OUT OF THIS WORLD TERRIFIC. I'm not kidding. These are life-changing beans, if there can be such a thing. Frequently parked outside the Lost Abbey in San Elijo, this is a truck you want to check out. The food was served very quickly after ordering so no long wait like with most food trucks.

Quality is the same but dare I say even better than the chula vista location! We ordered the following: -fish tacos (must order) -shrimp quesdilla (must order) -aguachile rojo (must order) -quesabirria taco I love that they don't overcompensate with batter when it comes to their fish tacos. You can actually taste the fish and everything about it is SO flavorful! Their shrimp quesadilla was also a surprise banger! Incredibly tasty and can last as 4 meals between 2 people, the portion is HUGE! Not too salty at all but so addictive. Lastly, their aguachile is a must! I tried this at their chula vista location and it's still fire! And ofc they give you complimentary consome! This spot is a hidden gem for sure!

I wasn't even planning on getting mariscos that day but it felt like a sign so I took it as a little treat. It's a food truck setup with folding tables and chairs and a pretty big parking lot since the plaza itself is kind of dead. Parking was easy and there was plenty of space. I walked up and they were doing construction on the tent right above where you order and it was really loud. I feel like that could've been done during closing because it disrupted the vibe. The area is already a little rough so it just made things feel a bit off. The lady working was super sweet. She took my order, you pay right after and they do accept tap to pay which I love because I don't carry cash. They take your name and call you when it's ready. I got mine to go, waited about 10 minutes, and everything came out pretty quick. They packaged everything really well too which I appreciated because aguachile can easily spill. For the tostada they gave two packs of saltines and three tostadas which felt like a good portion. They also had fresh salsas at the truck but I skipped them since my taco already came with sauce. I ordered a fish taco and an aguachile verde tostada. I went home excited to try everything but honestly it didn't really hit for me. The fish taco was a good size with a lot of cabbage and a white sauce, but the fish was a little too soft. I wish it had more crisp and overall the flavors just weren't memorable. It's about $3.70 so fair, just nothing standout. The aguachile verde was the weakest part. Some shrimp textures were off and a few had a strange aftertaste. I've had a lot of aguachile recently and this was probably the lowest quality. I will say they were generous with the avocado and the sauce itself had a nice spicy kick, it just didn't come together overall. There was also an earthy note from the seeds that was very prominent which I have never experienced in aguach For the price, I paid around $20 with tip for both which isn't bad for the portions. It satisfied the craving in the moment but not somewhere I'd go out of my way to come back to.

The first time I had the "El Breakfast Sanguich" and on the second visit it was the "Brisket N' Gravy Sandwich" both came with a fried egg. The Breakfast Sanguich came with two smashed house made sausage patties that were absolutely delicious. Now all the rest of the ingredients were very good here too: the American cheese, quality brown egg, mayo, and toast brioche bun, but the sausage patties were king. So tasty indeed and with the right texture. Now if you thought that the breakfast sandwich above sounded great, get a load of this. The Brisket N' Gravy Sandwich was total bliss. It came with one of those delicious sausage patties, but also a terrific slice of brisket and a side of homemade sausage gravy. The fried egg came at a perfect run, and the broiche bun was very well toasted. This in combination with a perfectly prepared handsome slice of brisket and that sausage patty; well you get great levels of flavors and textures. By the way, the gravy comes on the side, so you have the option to pour it onto the sandwich or dine on with a spoon out a container. I decided to pour some of it on the sandwich and have some on the side. It was a delicious win win! I am so glad that they make real gravy here. The crew Jaxon and Clinton are totally awesome and super friendly. They are there to expand your palates' horizons and to simply put a smiles on your faces.

There was plenty of parking once we found it. It's a bright blue food truck serving up fresh Mexican seafood and tacos, with a shaded tent area for seating. Each table has salsas and condiments which I loved. The workers here are amazing. Super friendly and welcoming. We ordered two tacos, cabeza and adobada, along with the aguachile verde tostada. This surprisingly was enough for two people. While waiting, we grabbed some salsas. They keep them on ice so they stay fresh and cold which was such a nice touch. They told us we could bring the whole bottle to the table, but we just used small cups. My favorite was the orange creamy salsa. It had a slight chipotle flavor but was pretty mild and perfect with the chips. They also gave us complimentary soup while we waited which was a nice surprise. Both tacos were incredible. The tortillas were warm and held a generous amount of meat. The cabeza was super tender, flavorful, and nicely salted. The adobada was juicy with a smoky, slightly spicy flavor. At $3.50 each, they felt very worth it. The real standout was the aguachile verde tostada. It had raw shrimp in a bright, spicy green sauce with thin sliced red onions. Every bite was fresh, citrusy, and packed with flavor. By the end, the tostada soaked up all the sauce which made it messy in the best way. If you're into that slightly soggy tostada texture, it honestly adds to the experience. We couldn't stop thinking about this place the whole drive home. Definitely coming back!

I liked that they sliced the burrito in half and provided a few slices of avocado as well which I happily put inside the burrito. They burrito was very flavorful and the white fish inside was very succulent and lightly seasoned. I just wish they would of put more fish in the burrito and less greens. The greens, tomatoes, and onions were finely chopped for ease of eating and the sauce was on the lighter side which I prefer. It was good that the wrapped the burrito in the yellow wax paper and the way they did it helped keep the rather large burrito together. They offer several salsa on the truck, including a large collection of bottled hot sauces, something for everyone or those who like hot sauce. I tried the red salsa on the squeeze bottle made by them which was very tasty and provided a mild heat. I like that this food truck provided seating and a shade cover. As of my review, they are not on El Cajon Blvd. but on the corner of Sweetwater Rd. and Jamacha Rd. in the parking lot of some Adult Book Store. You can't miss the truck.
