I was a little hesitant on coming here because I saw that there's always lines however my husband was craving birria so off we went. I got there a little bit before it said he opens but there was already a few people lined up! its right across from chino ranch park so parking is really hard to find. Their IG page popped up on my feed and I thought I'd give it a try but was so disappointed!! The birria tacos were filled with meat but lacked the taste of true authentic Mexican birria and the consomé was filled with too many spices not tasting like authentic birria. They also sell flavored aguas de horchata and you have to make a separate line to purchase. The line was so long and the wait time to that I opted out in getting an agua fresca. The location and parking was another bad thing. I get it, it's a street vendor business but right on the corner of a busy intersection with no parking lot. Only to make it what a small park with the smallest one way parking lot that caused such a traffic jam when people trying to park for the park or the birria spot, which was horrific. First off, Pete provides OUTSTANDING service. From the phone calls (for ordering ahead), to in person pick up. He's a solo guy who sometimes gets help from others from time to time. I'm amazed/inspired by his dedication every single time. I am always trying to see when Pete is going to pop up because the FOOD AND THE AGUAS (my absolute favorite) are TOP TEIR! First and last time! A friend highly recommended this taco spot, so we were really excited to try it. Unfortunately, it ended up being a huge disappointment. We waited almost two hours for just two drinks and our food, which is completely unreasonable. To make matters worse, after all that waiting, they were out of tortillas and couldn't even make some of the items we originally wanted to order. The service was extremely slow, communication was lacking, and the overall experience did not live up to the hype. We came in excited and left frustrated. The food is really good and flavorful. The service is okay. They run out pretty quick so we try to get there early. Just be warned there is always a line. When you try to be proactive and get there early, they are almost never ready at 6. They tend to still be setting up and won't take your order until closer to 6:20. The location is not the best (Central and Phillips in Chino). There is barely any parking and you're literally on dirt and gravel so dust is blowing everywhere. Again, the food is really good, but there are a lot of minor inconveniences. You can expect to have your food maybe 30 to an hour after you arrive. It is probably wise to call ahead. read more

Updated review. So Pete has expanded a bit. He's still at ritual brewery on Tuesdays and 909 market on Thursdays, but he's now open on Wednesdays at Arrowhead Medical Center and Sundays at the Clarks parking lot in Loma Linda. He updated the esthetics of his food stall and menu a bit, not that the old menu board was bad or anything. The big update is the new protein options he has. Before it was just birria, but now he has chicken, pork, ribeye, and prime carne asada. You can substitute chicken and I think the pork if they have it for no extra cost but the ribeye and prime carne asada has an extra charge that can vary depending on what you order; a burrito will have a larger charge than a quesataco. I've tried the chicken and the ribeye and both are solid. Chicken is tender and juicy, good flavor. The ribeye is... well ribeye. It's done pretty good but obviously not as juicy as the birria. I went on Sunday around 1210 and wanted to try the prime carne asada but they had already sold out by then. It seems like a winner for it to sell out in an hour. His condiments are sauces are still on point and have the same great flavors. You should definitely come out and give Pete's food a try. Yeah, birria is goat, but his food is good regardless. I love the baked potato! It's a lot and shareable . They also give free consume which is unheard of. Not many birria spots do that . They always have a long line so be patient when ordering .
