Don't miss out on this place. I've had my fair ahare of Birria around Sac County and if you're ever in Elk Grove for whatever reason, this is the place to go for anything birria. It's hidden away in the Shell gas station, but oh is it worth it. The staff is very friendly and courteous. They are happy to explain any part of the menu to you. The food is made fresh, the moment your order is placed. OH! And the toppings are free! I ordered the Party Pack and, oh my goodness, was it worth every dollar. When they told me it's called the party pack for a reason, they meant it. It was a total party experience for my mouth. The birria tacos have a perfect crunchy cheese layer from the grill top and there is always a cheese pull guaranteed with every bite. The Torta Birria was my most favorite part of the whole experience. When eaten fresh, the bread is not soggy at all and it even had the perfect crispy edges from being toasted. The meat itself practically melted in my mouth and I didn't even need a toothpick afterwards. Paired with the salsa given to me, it was simply divine. 5/5 I plan to hit up this spot more often. I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who loves birria and supporting local eateries. read more

The significant other and I stopped by this place to satisfy some birria taco craving. They have a very simple menu with just a few items on there which isn't a problem because I'd assume they excel at what they do focus on. It is also conveniently located right outside of The Trap bar which doesn't serve food. My boyfriend went and ordered for us. First, he placed my order for three birria tacos (their deal of the week) that included the consomme broth to dip the tacos in. He proceeded to tell them he'd also like an order of the same thing. They said it would takes 8 minutes. It took more than twice as long. When it was finally time for pick up, we noticed an order missing. He questioned the employees about it and was met with some very defensive comments. They definitely don't pride themselves in providing good customer service. So what about the food itself? Tacos were mediocre at best. The consomme was bland and certainly not something I'd pay $4 for (because it does not come with the birria taco order unless it's a deal box that states otherwise). This isn't a place we will be visiting again despite us living right down the street let alone going out of the way to drive to. Would not recommend. read more

3.5 stars. This is a tough one. We miss Don Chuy's Birria food truck so much (closed due to family emergency..) and BirriaBoys simply can't compare. We went yesterday around 5:30. There was no line to order but there were 3 parties waiting for their food to be cooked. We waited 25 mins to get our food and the associate apologized for the wait. Probably they had too many UberEats to fulfill? We ordered the 3 tacos and the birria plate. They are on the greasy side and the meat a little dry. The prices are quite expensive but I guess that is the standard now. (Bay Area price!) They use styrofoam for the 3 tacos and the 'soup' but reusable container for the plate. I will bump it to 4 stars if they stop using styrofoam. read more

There's not a lot of good Mexican food in the pocket area so I'm really glad they are here. They've been at this location for two months, Friday-Sunday. The guys are really cool and friendly. As soon as we walked up, we were greeted right away. The guy gave us a quick run down of their menu and also told us about their special, 3 tacos with the consume for $10. We ordered 2 of the special which took about 10 minutes to get our food out to us. The taco plate also came with a grilled pepper, 2 slices of lime, and one salsa. Loved the grilled pepper! The consume was good. Sipping the consume, you can taste the subtle flavors so it definitely was not bland. The food did not disappoint. Will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. Checked out their new brick n mortar spot in EG. Finally got to try their food, unfortunately not all of it. I'm a burrito guy so I was craving one. The service was pretty nice, I felt like I didn't wait too long for my food. They got lots of potential on the burrito side, when the carne asada and everything else but the rice hit my mouth, that was a thing of beauty. The flavor of it was perfect and everything it should be. The amount of rice was a little bit overwhelming throughout some parts but it was still overall a great burrito. After getting my usual, I'm definitely going next time for what they're known for, the birria tacos! read more

Birria Boys are coming n mi barrio so I definitely had to try this hile in the wall (no pun intended) inside Shell Gas station off Elk Grove Blvd/Auto Mall The birria meat is as advertised Juicy/tasty I also tried the fries w all the fixins & Yes birria meat The tacos must be eaten fresh or as soon as possible otherwise the consomé will make the shell soggy...Otherwise it's delish street tacos Give them a try You will be surprised ! read more

Saw this place on Instagram and decided to try it out. They opened at 4 and we got there right at 4, but it took a while for all the workers to get there on time so waited another 10-15 minutes to order. The order took another 15-20 minutes to order, maybe. On Tuesdays they have buy 3 get one free so that's what we did. Each taco comes with cilantro, onions, sour cream and cheese. If you buy 3, you get consomé included. I feel like for the price, you could add a little bit more meat to it. They didn't include napkins nor utensils in their to go bags. Overall, it was good. I might try it again in the future if I'm in town again or might go try somewhere new. read more

Food was good but the lady is rude. The Boys had good customer service but she didn't. She had a miscommunication with me about sauce. I had asked for the consume but she kept saying salsa. i told her i'll pay extra for it at the register but she said it will come inside the burrito and on the side. So when we got our food i was looking for the consume broth and i went up there to ask for it, just for her not to add it on the receipt at all. i understood it was a miscommunication but she kept throwing attitude saying i didn't pay for it and to look at the receipt when i thought she did add it on. I didn't like the way she was talking to me and All i'm saying didn't need to raise your voice when i was willing to pay that extra 4$ for a miscommunication. read more

I decided to go try this place with my younger brother bc we both love Mexican food and we've been looking for a good Birria place. Stood in like for 15 mins and there was only one person in front of us. Waited for our food for 25 mins while everyone else after us got their food first and they still managed to mess up the order. We ordered everything in these photos. Birria Quesadilla, 3 quesabirria tacos that come with a side of consome, then an extra side of consome. Keep in mind that on their menu when you order a side of consome it is supposed to come with meat in it. How does one serve quesabirria tacos without cheese bc then it's just tacos. Both of my consome cups were barely halfway full and the second one that I paid $4 for that was supposed to have Birria meat in it didn't even have any. Meat is bland, wait times are not worth it, service is not even good. They wouldn't even give me a refund. We drove 20 mins there and then 20 mins to get home and all they did was say we could just come back. All in all this was a big disappointment and I do not recommend. It would be one thing if the service wasn't the best but the food was great but it's gonna be a no on all fronts for me. read more

So. Freaking. Good. The guys running the truck are so fun and friendly but they definitely put their money where their mouth is because their food is AMAZINGGG. I had the tacos and it wasn't super oily/wet like I've had at other birria taco spots. Their dip is super flavorful and I also reallly liked the avocado crema they were trying out. I been wanting to try this food truck for a while, I seen today they posted on IG early this morning that they were going to be near me and to place an order online to avoid the lines , so I did that , I placed an order online around 11 am for a pick up time of 5pm for dinner . I arrived a few minutes early there was no line. When I got to the pick up window they told me to wait . Almost 15 minutes after my pick up time they called my name . I was so disappointed that my order wasn't ready on time and also it was messed up . I put no onions and no sour cream on my food and they put both. I had to take out the onions as it gives me stomach probs. It was an inconvenience that they couldn't follow simple instructions . And that they didn't start my order until I arrived . Overall the food was just okay ,except the beans they had zero flavor and the rice was cold . read more

YUM Birria Ramen was very good and there was a lot of food and meat, so definitely worth the money. Steak fries were also very good, would place them around 7/10. They aren't special but that the other menu items make up for it. Best Birria Ramen I've had so I'm impressed. Service was good and everyone was nice, no complaints there. Overall, super excited to have some good Mexican food in Elk Grove. We ordered 3 birrira tacos & it came with the consume. The tacos weren't crispy and we asked for no sour cream & the consume was very lit. It's not as flavorful as other consume I've had at other places, it taste much more like an broth. But the tacos were well seasoned so I didn't mind. We also ordered the burrito which was very meaty. I wish it had guac in it, we ordered it with no sour cream and I feel like guac would've been a great substitute. read more

omg finally found the name of the logo! I couldn't remember what this place was called when it was a food truck and now I do! This place is tucked away in a gas station but definitely a must try. The service was amazing, he was welcoming and super patient while I was ordering. Anyways I got the function pack with chipotle pork for my burrito and Birria for my tacos. Super delicious! Yes, it's in the back of the Shell Station building. But the food is delicious and there's an interesting menu. The portions are very generous and the staff is very nice. Don't expect them to hand your meal over to you in just a few minutes; we had to wait a little bit for the food. I consider that a good thing because it's made to order! read more

We've been wanting to try this place out since they opened we were finally in the area and decided to stop by. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon not very busy but there was some people. they're menu was really easy to read and staff was friendly. We did have to wait about 25-30 mins for our food which was frustrating Because there was only 2 numbers ahead of us but I had over heard they had a couple of Doordarsh orders which I can understand.. We finally got our food and were excited to eat, presentation was good I give them props even though I am a little more traditional and never ate them this way I am still open to new things.. and first impression was really good.. I actually was really enjoying them honestly they are good.. that was until .. I pulled the longest hair out of my second taco... wow I was so disgusted that hair was DEEP in there I was in disbelief I am was so disappointed.. what a horrible experience... hopefully the owner will reach out And make this better.. read more

Although I couldn't eat here (due to shellfish allergy), my family really enjoyed their food. The service was also excellent. The owner is very and kind. He also said if I wanted to order ahead so my food could be cooked separately I could always call and they would accommodate my food so no shellfish products got contaminated in my food. Very thoughtful. read more

While Tanuki did not have all the dishes expected at an Izakaya like Bichoyaki, it still has excellent yakitori and donburi. It would be nice to have a red/spicy version of the black garlic ramen as I had to add some chili oil to bring it all together. For the tang tang, this was my favorite out of the two in terms of flavor! As for the restaurant itself, it was clean all around, music was playing in the background bringing back nostalgic kpop vibes, and reminded me of a pocha with posters and fun decor all around. I looked up the origin and it turns out Wushiland is a spin off from the Taiwanese boba chain 50嵐 (if you speak mandarin, it says Wushi Lan). Located on Sutterville in a tiny strip mall with minimal parking right next to the Freeport area where there are plenty of good eats, some of which are my favorite places in Sac to eat at, Wushiland is in an optimal location. Bright, clean, and with a decent amount of seating, you have the option to order from kiosks or up front at the counter. The AC was blowing cold and a nice respite from the El Niño heat. The workers are friendly and drinks are made quickly. Be advised that the drinks are voluminous, especially if you're like me and ask for less ice. Coming from someone who considers Chicha San Chen their favorite Taiwanese tea chain (but alas we don't have it in Sac), the difference in quantity is huge. Obviously if you're looking for a refined style of tea chain, Wushiland doesn't compare, but still the taste of their teas shine through and there is a good variety for everyone's palate. The first time I tried their earl grey tea because I have been craving an earl grey for a while, and that was deliciously smooth. The mini boba were so fun to chew on, and I usually prefer them over the regular size. They provide a ton of boba here as well. The next time I had their yakult green tea and that was very refreshing indeed. Both times my husband went with fruit teas, and had nice remarks to say about both of his drinks. He also tried their new QQubes and their texture was very QQ (I had a sample). We will most certainly return to Wushiland, especially since it's so accessible. I ordered the Queso Tacos, which come with three tacos and your choice of meat (fish and shrimp are available for an additional charge). They're topped with sour cream, Parmesan cheese, onions, and cilantro. Unfortunately, the tacos were only ok. The Chipotle Pineapple Pork was a bit too salty and oily. The Garlic Shrimp was also disappointing. The shrimp had become soft instead of having a nice bite, the shells were mushy, and the generous amount of sour cream overpowered the flavor. I was hoping for a little more texture and crispness. I also tried both the green and red salsas, but neither one stood out to me, as they were both pretty mild and didn't add much flavor to the tacos. The girl was nice though, she answered all of my questions. If I were to try this place again, maybe I'd try the street tacos or their bowl.
