Came to Ramen Q for dinner because my son was craving ramen. We've driven by many times and finally decided to try it. It was around 5 PM on a rainy day and not busy. The restaurant has a spacious seating area and appears to be self-seating and mostly self-serve. One young man seemed to be handling both the register and table service. I ordered the seafood ramen and chose no spice, but the broth was still very bland and lacked depth of flavor. My son ordered the miso ramen without bamboo shoots or mushrooms , and his portion seemed smaller than mine. We also ordered potstickers, which were extremely crispy and dark on the outside and tasted burnt. I only ate two. One positive was the free drink refills, which was appreciated. Once we finished eating, we waited for the check but eventually realized we had to go up to the counter to pay, which added to the self-serve feel. The storefronts on two sides made the place look really bright inside! The seating was comfortable and clean. Our server came to us with the menus and took our drink orders immediately. I love how this restaurant is conveniently located right in front of a big gym. My friends and I were starving after working out. We decided to eat here because it is so close and the food looks pretty good. They have a lot of open tables available and we get to pick where we want to sit. The inside is cozy and clean. My family came around 8PM and we were able to be seated right away. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual and cozy. We ordered the fry geso which is the closest thing to calamari and we loved it! Definitely would get again and I loved the spicy mayo sauce that came with it. The broth was magnificent, as were all of the other components! The quality of the food and the service has gone down over the past 16 months. It used to be a high 4 for my family and me. We've been coming here for a few years. I'm not sure if they changed staff or what. But they are barely a 3. The tea (unsweetened at least) has always been old and reused every time I've ordered it so I stopped ordering and opted for hot tea instead and ice. The meat is very salty and the veggies are rubbery on the plates. Because they only have 2 people working in the kitchen, I'm almost sure there's cross contamination and cleanliness issues. Upon walking in to the restaurant there is a smell of stagnant water that is noticeable if you are in there for any amount of time. The bathrooms are not properly cleaned and at the end of the hallway that leads to the bathroom there is a pile of junk. I literally watched one of the gentleman cashiers at The front desk run his fingers through his two-toned colored hair a few times and fluff it up, push up his glasses then grab his cell phone and less than 30 seconds later put an order on a tray to serve it to a dine in guest and then come back and pack up a to go order. (Sorry for the run on sentence) He did not even wash his hands or use gloves. I heard someone coughing in the back. The tables and chairs are always dirty and sticky. I'm sorry but this is the end of our fairly long dining relationship with this restaurant. OSHA and the health department need to pay this place a visit. read more

She ordered several Shoyu ramen bowls and one Tonkatsu Ramen bowls, the lobster Rangoons, fried calamari and a couple of their POG (Pineapple, Orange, Guava) drinks. I ordered the beef Shoyu ramen which is a basic ramen bowl of noodles, sliced beef, mushrooms, one hard boiled egg cut in half and soaked in soy sauce, bamboo shoots, green onion, a fish cake and broth. The Ramen was ok, nothing that stood out as special to me, and it came with very little beef. If I remember correctly there were only two thinly sliced pieces which was disappointing. But I was sick so I didn't have much of the ramen either way. The fried calamari I thought was pretty good, I didn't try the Ragoons as my girlfriend likes those and wanted to try them. The POG drink was good for being canned and not fresh, but it doesn't compare to the real thing if you've had it befofe. Overall: Not bad if you're in the area and are looking for basic Ramen and appetizers. Service was efficient and friendly. We tried the Tonkatsu Ramen (which came with 2 pieces of cha siu pork, a soft boiled egg, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, 2 slices of fish cake, and green onions), Hawaiian BBQ Chicken (which came with 2 scoops of steamed rice, 1 scoop of macaroni salad, steamed broccoli and cabbage), and Fried Geso (squid legs). I am picky about my ramen but Ramen Q serves a solid and delicious Tonkatsu Ramen. The noodles were perfectly tender and chewy. The cha siu pork was some of the best I've ever tried: flavorful and cooked nicely. And, the broth was excellent: medium-richness with balanced seasoning. I was really pleased with their Hawaiian BBQ entree, too. Really delicious chicken that wasnt over-cooked or over-sauced like many places tend to do. Plus, the steamed rice and veggies were cooked wonderfully. The macaroni salad was ok though and didn't have much flavor. My family and I love our Hawaiian BBQ and ramen. The fact that Ramen Q offers both of these and is near our house was a no brainer! For this dinner we all just went with the Hawaiian bbq plates to go. We ordered the Chicken Katsu, Kalbi Short Rib BBQ, Prawn Tempura, Spam Musubi, and Hawaiian BBQ mix. My Chicken Katsu had a good crisp exterior you'd expect yet lacked seasoning. The Katsu sauce was definitely needed to liven up my bland fried chicken. Mac salad was decent, a little too creamy and Mayo heavy for my liking. My son and husband enjoyed their bbq plates but agreed it needed more TLC. The prawns were the tempura shrimp you'd find in Mikuni's or Sushi Q. Typically prawns are bigger... Spam Musubi's were well made and packed with a lot of meat & rice. Overall, it was a decent dinner. Once the food came home, which was a 5 minute drive, the food was warm not very hot/warm. ETA for pick up was about 25 minutes, we picked it up right at 25 minutes and when I got into the car, the broth containers were luke warm, so I had to microwave them when I got home to enjoy it hot. We ordered the black garlic ramen, a chicken ramen and a Kalbi short rib plate. Price wise, this place is on par if not cheaper than other ramen places I've been too. I was hoping for the black garlic ramen to be super garlicky based off other reviews but it was honestly kind of bland. I loved the tons of garlic cloves in it though. I opted for mild spice to be on the safe side and it was very mild, thankfully we got a side of chili oil to add so I was able to kick it up a bit more. The chicken ramen had lots of chicken especially when compared to the 2 small slices of pork in the garlic ramen. The kalbi ribs were a tad fatty but had nice flavor. My husband really enjoyed the macaroni salad it came with. Overall I'd say more of a 3.5 but because I'm a little sick, my taste buds may be a little off so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt. It's located in the Kohls plaza and sort of hidden. We came here on a Thursday evening and luckily there was no wait. The menu is pretty extensive with ramen, Hawaiian bbq and a huge appetizers list. We ordered the spam musubi and chicken karaage to start off. For the entree, I got the black garlic ramen with an extra boiled egg. The spam musubi was delicious and something I would order again. I was waiting at americas tire and noticed this place. We were hungry and the menu looked appetizing. We had the kids ramen, chicken & beef bbq, gyoza and squid legs. Everything tasted fresh, the bbq sauce was really good and the beef was a good thickness with hardly any fat.
