Interesting Japanese/Chinese hybrid ramen shop right off of Hwy 99. The Black Garlic Ramen doesn't have the typical creamy consistency of classic tonkotsu broth, but it offers the same boldness in flavor. The bamboo shoots and black fungus were such a nice touch! It reminds me of ingredients my mom puts in her own noodle soups. Lastly, the noodles had a nice soft texture to them. Bonus points for the peaceful ambiance, clean interior, and medium-volume indie music. It saddened me to only see 2 other tables occupied on a Saturday night. This place deserves so much more recognition.

Amazing! The ramen is DELICIOUS & authentic! The presentation is great and I love the small details of the bowls and trays I ordered the Jiro ramen which is considered "crazy spicy" the level was perfect for someone who enjoys spicy food and I also added some chili oil sauce that they offer on every table and it made it EXTRA yummy! 10/10 and highly recommend! Service was friendly, and the location is super cute!!

Always hesitant to try new ramen places, 8 Hour Ramen pleasantly surprised me. I had the Black Garlic Ramen. The chashu was very flavorful and they provided a good number of toppings. The broth, noodles, and toppings were all excellent. Just as a note, the broth was quite heavy in fat-content. Overall, good service. For a relatively low amount of tables, the waitress took an incredibly long time to check-in and to deliver the check. I don't know of any good ramen places nearby, so this is a nice option in Elk Grove.

Went here after school with my daughter for dinner. We got the kid size tonkatsu ramen and the gyudon. She got to taste the food first, official food taster and all. She really liked both! The ramen broth had a very nice flavor to it, and its such a little thing, but the bamboo shoots were fresh and tasty. The beef bowl was yummy too! We'll come back for certain, and bring the hubby. The young lady at the front of shop was very sweet and very hard working.

This place was recommended by a friend of mine and I decided to take myself out on a me date and try this place! I ate here around 2pm on a thursday and it was very slow and relaxing. I enjoyed their interior design as well as their music. It really set the vibe and perfect for eating ramen. I ordered their Spicy Miso Ramen, choosing pork soup base and chashu with my choice of noodle being the normal type. It came out pretty quickly like 5-10 minutes. It was delicious and i enjoyed eating there. I also enjoyed the staff they were so kind and patient :)

We wanted some sort of noodle soup so we decided to give this place a try. They were having a buy one get the 2nd ramen 50% off. We were immediately greeted. After we sat down, the service started to lack. It took them a while to come take our order. We order fried oysters, tonkatsu ramen and black garlic ramen. It took 20 minutes for our food to come out. I felt the broth was not hot enough. It was a bit too salty as well. Portion was average.

Asahi beer The crazy spicy Her music playlist I haven't tried much of the menu like any of the other ramens but the squid legs and chicken karaage were both delicious.

This place needs to pop off. I'm so glad it reopened. This is my third time here and the ramen has been great every single time. The soft boiled egg is perfect! They are having a special for its reopening. Try it!

Black Garlic Oil Ramen It comes with chashu, bamboo shoots, black fungus, egg, green onion, and a rich pork soup base that's simmered for 8 hours daily. A bit oily for me (likely from the black garlic oil) but still a good ramen Chicken Katsu Purple Rice Wrap It contains crispy fried chicken, pork floss, crunchy dough, corn, pickled radish, cucumber, and lettuce all wrapped in nutritious purple rice. Really enjoyed this one! It is healthier yet filling.

We could not wait to come back after the re-opening. Sounds like they reopened in late November. But WHOA, what happened to the ramen????? The appetizers were good. But our favorite which is the Black Pepper was just like water and no richness to the broth as before. Was such a bummer. Totally watered down and nothing like what it was before which I totally raved about in the past. Also the Tonkatsu had no flavor in the broth compared to before as well, literally like plain water , lastly the spicy miso though tasted better out of the 3, was also weak. We are probably not coming back again for some time when we want ramen.

We are thrilled that this establishment has reopened! My husband and I had been waiting patiently. He refuses to dine at any other ramen restaurant. I appreciate the variety of noodle options, including three distinct selections. Personally, I prefer udon noodles. Occasionally, I am torn between ordering udon noodles or ramen. Now, I can both worlds!

Food: The price for ramen is cheaper than other places and STILL TASTE JUST AS GOOD!! I love the black garlic if you're looking for something peppery!! Service/Ambiance: Small cute ramen shop that plays pop music!

Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Seating: 5/5 Parking: 5/5 Great service, quick and friendly, they even give a free sticker at the end. Although on the smaller side, had tables with booth seating or at the counter, all cushioned and comfortable. Ordered the Black Garlic Ramen with Corn and nothing bad but also nothing too special, standard ramen so 3/5. Lots of parking, located in a shopping center with lots of other businesses. Interior decorated nicely.

Soo long ago, right? Well, their ramen has always been great and tasty. This is a small restaurant next to other small business. The atmosphere is casual and cozy. They have art pieces and pictures of their ramen on the walls. There are booth, table and bar area seating. They have a variety of ramen, rice bowls, salads & some appetizers. Theres soda, sweet drinks but no alcohol serve. We came here for dinner around 6pm, not busy which was perfect. We were greeted my the server and seated right away in a booth near the entrance. Food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the #3 Red-Tonkotsu, #11 Shio Ramen & Unagi Rice Bowl as well appetizer, Shrimp Har Gao. The #3 was creamy with a spicy, savory kick to it. The #11 was light with subtle taste, not too intense like the miso or soy sauce flavors. Both ramen were flavorful. My dish was the unagi rice which contains rice, scrambled eggs and grilled eel. The portion was pretty big, tasted buttery, and tender, with a sweet-savory balanced. It was good but I've had better, meaning that the way the eggs were made, made a difference. Just know this dish did said scrambled so I wasn't expecting the slighty beaten running eggs that im used to when eating this bowl. The shrimp har Gao was mediocre, not flavored until you dipped into the sauce. Overall, all 3 dishes were well made. Appetizers was not my favorite. Service was great! Will definitely come back more often.

Our water glasses were always full. We were genuinely able to relax and have a nice time. The kitchen, however, had gotten overwhelmed before we got there and my stepdaughter's chicken donburi took over an hour to come out. I really don't want to fault them for that because it was a very busy day, but it might be a good idea to hire an extra line cook for the next big holiday. I'm looking forward to coming back on a regular day because I'm sure it will be 5 stars! The rolls were fantastic and creative (they're labeled on my photos.) I forgot to take a pic of the Osaka roll but it was devoured by my fiancé so it must have been delicious! The miso soup was full of mushrooms and had great umami flavor. The Sake nigiri was some of the freshest I've had recently and was buttery and delicious. Japanese food is my absolute favorite and this place delivered excellent service and flavor.

It's really not worth the price point and I don't recommend it. The next appetizer was the toro roll and I think I need to order more sushi next time. The fish was incredibly fresh with a perfect amount of rice and high quality nori. I ordered the tempura udon - you really can't go wrong with the tempura here. On this particular visit we started with 2 different sushi tacos-We had the tuna version and the salmon version-each priced at $11.00. Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. I've described this dish in the past as a dish I could eat every day of my life and would be a very happy person. The flavor and seasonings are flawless, the noodles are cooked perfectly, great chew-a very slurpable noodle for sure.
