If you're craving ramen, this is the place to go. This ramen house is literally around the corner of our house. Anywho, the last time I came here was before the pandemic. Soo long ago, right? Well, their ramen has always been great and tasty. This is a small restaurant next to other small business. The atmosphere is casual and cozy. They have art pieces and pictures of their ramen on the walls. There are booth, table and bar area seating. They have a variety of ramen, rice bowls, salads & some appetizers. Theres soda, sweet drinks but no alcohol serve. We came here for dinner around 6pm, not busy which was perfect. We were greeted my the server and seated right away in a booth near the entrance. Food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the #3 Red-Tonkotsu, #11 Shio Ramen & Unagi Rice Bowl as well appetizer, Shrimp Har Gao. The #3 was creamy with a spicy, savory kick to it. The #11 was light with subtle taste, not too intense like the miso or soy sauce flavors. Both ramen were flavorful. My dish was the unagi rice which contains rice, scrambled eggs and grilled eel. The portion was pretty big, tasted buttery, and tender, with a sweet-savory balanced. It was good but I've had better, meaning that the way the eggs were made, made a difference. Just know this dish did said scrambled so I wasn't expecting the slighty beaten running eggs that im used to when eating this bowl. The shrimp har Gao was mediocre, not flavored until you dipped into the sauce. Overall, all 3 dishes were well made. Appetizers was not my favorite. Service was great! Will definitely come back more often.

It feels like the end of the cooler weather so went to get Ramen. It was about 730 in a great night. The place was nearly empty. But by the time we left it was PACKED!!! Ordered some of our usuals - couple bowls of ramen, and potstickers. A side of kimchi. I tried the Karaage Curry Over Rice (Japanese curry). It was good! Quite heavy with the thick sauce and the carrots and potatoes. I loved the shredded pickled ginger on the side. It added an interesting flavor pop.

Got the Chicken Katsu and I was amazing! Placed an order over the phone and it was done right at the time they mentioned. Staff was friendly and the place had a great vibe when I walked in. Next time I order I'd love to ask for more of the picked ginger and another Katsu sauce so it doesn't feel so dry. Overall, delicious!

My husband and I love to eat here, it's my favorite ramen so far. We always go back. There is never a long wait and our server is always taking good care of us. The restaurant is cozy and perfect for dates or to enjoy with friends and family.

I enjoyed the spicy miso ramen here and found that the noodles were nice and chewy, the egg was just the right jammy texture, and the broth was delicious. We also had ordered fries that were dressed with pork and sauce and it was so good--we were immediately sent into food comas afterwards. We got our food quickly, probably got our ramen bowls within 10 minutes of ordering so that was nice to get our food quickly during lunch. They had a pretty big menu and I will have to try their spicy tonkotsu next time. We all had leftovers so they provided us take out containers to take home, so we were happy with the potions as well. I would definitely return and recommend this spot for those that are craving ramen.

Yesterday, my wife and got a chance to try a new a Ramen spot while in Elk Grove Rd. Lol... we thought it was closed because it said open online, but when we arrived.. it was dark. We wondered why ppl were standing around for a closed spot, but it opens at 5pm. It opens for lunch, then closes.. then opens for dinner. We are so glad that we stuck around thanks to my wife's intuition to just wait and see what happens. Their food was delicious. We had fried boneless chicken w/ Spicy mayo and ginger sauce on the side, shrimp tempura, my wife had the seafood ramen and I had the T. White with lean pork belly. We even saw Lovely Mimi ate here and loved it too. They had a video of her reviewing the food. She look satisfied and we were most definitely satisfied fully too. It was well worth the wait. We will definitely go back to enjoy again.

How the good have fallen. This is my regular place to get ramen, but today's order was a very big disappointment. My regular order of ramen came with a soup base that was so water down that it tasted like water.

My bad picture of the Hokkaido cheese ramen. Parmesan cheese and pat of butter already stirred into the broth.
    Ed Y.

The ramen here is mediocre. Not terrible but not good. I tried the Hokkaido cheese ramen. It's their tonkatsu broth with a small pile of grated Parmesan and a pat of butter. The cheese flavor wasn't overwhelming; it mostly just affected the aroma of the broth. The broth itself is fine. It lacks the depth of flavor that great ramen has. I had a sip of the shoyu broth which was also meh. I preferred the tonkatsu broth. You get the option of regular/fatty or lean chasu. I opted for the fatty which was okay. The inside isn't very big, but they weren't particularly busy for my lunch in a Saturday so I got seated right away.

Great Ramen! Staff very nice and attentive. This is a late post but this is some of the best Ramen in Elk Grove!

Got their spicy miso soup with the regular pork. The spice level did have a kick but it was manageable to continue eating. We also didnt wait long for our food. We did come on a saturday night around 7-8

Celebrating lunch with my wife for Women's Day today. One of her favorite spots. The broth no matter which has been ordered has always been so rich, creamy, and flavorful. Polite staff and is always well kept with nice music. Definitely continues to be one of our top date places to spend time together .

Nice welcoming vibe right when you walk in. Note that this place is in the smaller side so don't be surprise if you have to worth while wait. Nice menu with thought out description of each item which I appreciate. We had 2 Ramen - seafood and black = YUM!!! A perfect blend of rich flavor for both. By far the best seafood ramen ive had. Generous even portions of noodles, tippings and broth. Easy parking, nice service. Will definitely come again! Support Local!!!

Spicy miso ramen, salty edemame and red tonkotsu

We went on a Sunday , we ordered red spicy tonkotsu and spicy miso. the noodles were nice and chewy, the egg was just the right jammy texture, and the broth was delicious. We got our food quickly, probably 10 minutes they serve good portions. It nice to find a good ramen spot on a Sunday .

We started with the Ika Maruyaki (Teriyaki grilled squid) and for $28 this was a miss. No tentacles were served and the squid did not taste very fresh. It's really not worth the price point and I don't recommend it. The next appetizer was the toro roll and I think I need to order more sushi next time. The fish was incredibly fresh with a perfect amount of rice and high quality nori. I ordered the tempura udon - you really can't go wrong with the tempura here. It has a crisply light batter that is not too thick or oily. My husband got the tonkatsu curry and this always hits. The curry is so aromatic with the warm spices and the katsu is perfectly battered and cooked.

I seriously can't get enough of this place. It's always packed, but in a good, lively way. All the…read morefood is fresh and made with real care -- honestly some of the best ramen I've ever had. I've come here several times with my daughter, and she always leaves with a full belly, a big smile, and leftovers. We stay full, fed, and happy every time. I usually stick to my go‑to order, but whenever I actually ask for a recommendation, I end up with a new favorite. The claypot dishes are amazing, the udon noodles are delicious, and the butter ramen and blackened ramen are definitely at the top of my list. The ice cream at the end is super cute, too. And the drink prices? Amazing. I always get the sake bomb.

Looking for something new to try with family and landed on this spot. Had joined the wait-list but…read moreonce we arrived were seated immediately. Waiter was attentive and friendly. We ordered gyoza, karaage, hamachi kama, salmon kama, tonkotsu ramen, ten zaru soba, katsudon, a sushi roll, and red tonkotsu ramen. The kamas seemed to be served with the wrong sauce and my soba was sticking pretty bad (needed cold rinsed). Tempura that came with the soba was fried well and had prefect breading. Was impressed with how much they gave! Family that got ramen thought it was top notch and might give Maru Ramen a run for it's money (our usual go to). Fried rice had a good flavor to it. What pushed it to a 4 for me was towards the end the waiter asked to serve the kids some free ice creams and I appreciated that touch.

This had the perfect balance of sweetness. It was light and refreshing and balanced the rest of the flavors of the meal. I started with the seaweed salad. It was a solid seaweed salad. Good seasoning and texture. It was a good portion size as well. Melissa and Jonathan had the gyoza. They were stuffed full of meat, but I felt like the seasoning was a little less than and also they were unevenly cooked. I still tried one though because a gyoza is a gyoza. As my main, I had the karamiso ramen with a spicy miso based broth with seasoned ground chicken, veggies and chili threads for an extra kick. I enjoyed this bowl of ramen. It was the perfect level of spice. I am partial to ground meat in ramen, so I liked that this was an option. The veggies were cooked al dente which I appreciated, and the broth was filling and flavorful. The noodles were thin which is my favorite type. Attentive service here. OUr water cups were always filled no matter how hot the ramen was. Solid meal here.

I got the Karamiso ramen, the spice level was okay, but upon tasting the broth, you get a rich flavorful punch of pork flavor with sourness. I like the richness of the broth and sour flavors so I was drawn to it. My wife got the Aka Red Tonkotsu ramen, the broth was definitely lighter, and the spice level was abut the same as the one I got. The portions were generous, we were not able to finish our ramens unfortunately. But I must say, for the price, it's worth it. I would like to go back and try their tan tan men.

I will say that I was a bit skeptical because it the parking lot and the area didn't look too promising. But totally worth the risk. Jk. No but on a serious note. This place was pretty cool. They even have a second dining room just past the kitchen. We came here for lunch after a really hot day checking out Sac Zoo. We always love Japanese food when needing low fat but high protein and moderate carb meals. The food was excellent, and with generous portions: 1. Plain Sunomono - Is nothing but plain. Sliced cold cucumbers in a sweet vinegary sauce served in a huge martini glass. Super refreshing on a hot day and excellent shareable appetizer. (5 stars) 2. Kid's teriyaki meal are designed for under-7 kids but could have easily fed a teen. Generous amount of moist, juicy chicken breast slices, cup of crunchy salad with Asian sesame creamy dressing, huge bowl of rice, and lots of tempura (2 shrimp, one brocolli, and a sweet potato). (5 stars) 3. Sushi Moriwase B was 10 pieces of chef-selected nigiri. Not bad - rice was well seasoned and soft, generally very fresh fish. I'm less a fan of imitation crab and was surprised to see tamago - but hey, protein is protein. (4 stars) 4. Some dishes were on the saltier however, such as the free miso soup and soba noodles - the large comb one with chicken, mushrooms, veggies, and a separate dipping sauce. Definitely recommend Akebono. It was pretty empty when we arrived but during our meal more families and customers began filling in. Guess they need all the space after all!
