The ramen is absolutely stellar here. Elk Grove has gone 3 for 3 in exceeding my ramen expectations, and I might just avoid Sac altogether to play it safe at this point. I ordered the Akamaru with Spicy Tonkotsu Broth and asked them to crank up the spice level. I enjoyed the chashu more than anything else, as it tasted tender and nearly melted away in my mouth. The noodles have a nice semi-firm texture. The broth? Good lord, I was burning up from the spice but couldn't stop going at it. Part of this praise undoubtedly comes from the primal hunger of skipping lunch that day, but make no mistake -- Maru is where it's at.

On a cold Saturday night, ramen sounded really good. I've seen this spot every time I get Thai Chili. So, I decided to give this a place a try. Super cute decor and very opened, staff were friendly. We were greeted and seated shortly. Everything we ordered was good, except for the shrimp tempura. The shrimp tempura must have been frozen and then deep fried. It didn't taste fresh and there's a flat surface, which you typically do not get or see at other Japanese or Ramen restaurants. Either way, we enjoyed the ramen and will return. FYI- this ramen spit is connected to moo moo, save some room for boba.

Theres no doubt that Elk Grove/ Sacramento has been the chilliest it's ever been! Ok, maybe im overexaggerating. Let's get some ramen. Maru has been our go to for our ramen fix in the area. I always enjoyed my doing experience here, however recently it's just been mid and the customer service has been lacking. We walked in for lunch, and the server said have a seat at any table. When we say down, she immediately yelled " Small table!" and made a big deal about us having to move tables. After this happened, she allowed a caucasian family of 2 sit in the same table she asked us to move from. Once our food came, I immediately noticed how oily my soup and eggplant looked. The oil was all I could taste in my soup making it very unappetizing. Overall, I still think Maru is a good option in town , but they really need to improve on some things.

Maru Ramen bar is still my go to Ramen spot in Elk Grove, despite living on the opposite side of the city it's still worth the drive for me. I've had several of their different broths and they are all delicious, fully flavored and rich in depth. Noodles are cooked to perfection. Maru ramen bowl came with all the bells and whistles as far as toppings go extra meet, ramen egg. This spot is consistent unlike a few other local spots I e been to. Service here is quick, if you come here on a weekend when they open for dinner you can probably still snag a spot although the place still gets busy. Very modern in design and decor and well lit. Compared to other typical ramen spots. Cute seating that centers around a tree in the middle of the store that's typically decorated for the season.

We came on a weekday for lunch and ordered pork cheek ramen and maru ramen. The wait wasn't long for food to be served. The portion was quite big, and they gave generous portions. The pork cheek was easy to eat and chew. I quite enjoyed it. The noodles' texture wasn't too hard to bite. My hubby enjoyed his Maru ramen bowl, with lots of toppings. The staff was friendly. The restaurant is connected to Moo Moo Tea Shop if you want to get a drink.

This was my first time coming here. I ordered the Maru ramen which was different it came with pork cheek. I thought it was actually pretty good. My friend got the seafood ramen and thought it was okay. Service was pretty fast. The place was big and spacious and had plenty of seating. Their connecting boba shop was next door too if you in the mood for a cold drink after.

Ramen was very favorable and portion was good and filling. Fries and garlic noodles wasn't too bad. Private parking lot. Service was good. Good for small and large parties. We went during lunch and it was pretty slow and quiet.

WHY WE WENT HERE: - lunch on a rainy day THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in a plaza off Elk Grove Blvd in between Elk Ridge Way and Emerald Oak Dr - located in the same plaza as Dollar Tree THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - vibe of the decor gives me a cross between cabin chic, farm, and industrial THE MENU: - ramen - ramen toppings - sides - chix wings - garlic noodle - refreshments - sake - beers on draft - draft beer pitcher WHAT WE ORDERED: - bulgogi fries - soy garlic glaze chix wings - tonkotsu black ramen - Maru ramen THE TASTE: - bulgogi fries could easily be a rice bowl; tasty - soy garlic glaze chix wings was the clear favorite; however, the sauce was watery vs. sticky on the wings - ramen bowls felt particularly heavy; more meaty than other bowls of ramen we've had CUSTOMER SERVICE: - very minimal; we were the first and only customers at the time we dined in (which was just after they had opened for the day)

Good vibe! They have J-Pop playing in the dining area to add to the feel of the place. The dining area is clean and well decorated. The service was friendly and welcoming. We ordered right away and got our food pretty quickly. The ramen itself is tasty! I got the Akamaru and the spicy-ness was perfect. This is my new favorite local ramen spot!

After a great time celebrating my son's birthday at King's Skate Country (please reference my review if interested), my family was ready to replenish the calories burned! My son, a lover of Asian cuisines, wanted to his birthday dinner to consist of ramen. Doing a quick Yelp search led us to Maru Ramen Bar, a restaurant located six minutes away from our home. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an employee who instructed us to seat ourselves. Since the restaurant was fairly busy (there were two large parties on both sides of the establishment, we seated ourselves at the bar seating located at the front. A server quickly provided us with menus and filled our glasses with water. My son opted for the Tonkotsu Ramen and Wonton Dumplings; while I selected the bulgogi fries and potstickers. My son, who is generally very talkative, rarely spoke a word as he devoured his ramen. His dumplings (which he ended up taking home to eat later) reheated well and were very delicious the following day (something about letting them marinate in sauce overnight! I found the bulgogi fries to be underwhelming; they had minimal sauce and rib eye meat. The highlight of my order was the potstickers, which are very hard to mess up. Regarding the customer service, it felt very disengaged. I'm used to seeing staff making their way from table to table engaging with patrons regarding their meals, confirming if they would like to order additional items, etc. I observed staff delivering food to tables, filling waters, and then retreating behind the counter to chat amongst themselves. Not sure if this is typical protocol, but it made me wonder if this is the everyday standard for customer service. Although my son enjoyed his orders, I'm not quite sure if I can honestly say that I will make a return visit. However, this is not to say that you shouldn't experience it for yourself.

Very friendly staff. Food was amassing. I asked the server his recommendations and I ordered what he recommended.

Friend wanted to try ramen in Elk Grove. One of the better ones I recommended. So came here. I had the Tori paitan. This was delicious. Next time I'll ask for extra spice. Bulgogi fries. This was always delicious. I have one critique that I hope is fixed. So close to a 5 star. - please train or tell your staff to work on their customer service. There was maybe 3 tables (including mine) So it was not busy Saturday night. And yet the gentlemen and the lady could not be bothered to walk around and check in on customers or ask if we needed water. They stood behind the counter. I had to waive or grab their attention. It's ramen. It's salty. We need water. This is not the first time. The last time I came here it was similar. They greet you. Give you water. Take order. Deliver food. And then you never see them again. I will give grace if it was busy but it's not. Improve this and it'll be an easy 5 star.

Soo long ago, right? Well, their ramen has always been great and tasty. This is a small restaurant next to other small business. The atmosphere is casual and cozy. They have art pieces and pictures of their ramen on the walls. There are booth, table and bar area seating. They have a variety of ramen, rice bowls, salads & some appetizers. Theres soda, sweet drinks but no alcohol serve. We came here for dinner around 6pm, not busy which was perfect. We were greeted my the server and seated right away in a booth near the entrance. Food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the #3 Red-Tonkotsu, #11 Shio Ramen & Unagi Rice Bowl as well appetizer, Shrimp Har Gao. The #3 was creamy with a spicy, savory kick to it. The #11 was light with subtle taste, not too intense like the miso or soy sauce flavors. Both ramen were flavorful. My dish was the unagi rice which contains rice, scrambled eggs and grilled eel. The portion was pretty big, tasted buttery, and tender, with a sweet-savory balanced. It was good but I've had better, meaning that the way the eggs were made, made a difference. Just know this dish did said scrambled so I wasn't expecting the slighty beaten running eggs that im used to when eating this bowl. The shrimp har Gao was mediocre, not flavored until you dipped into the sauce. Overall, all 3 dishes were well made. Appetizers was not my favorite. Service was great! Will definitely come back more often.

When I added vinegar and ground sesame seeds, the flavor totally changed (to the better!). The acidity from the vinegar gave a bright taste to the creamy noodle. - Original aburasoba: good. We started with the Ika Maruyaki (Teriyaki grilled squid) and for $28 this was a miss. No tentacles were served and the squid did not taste very fresh. It's really not worth the price point and I don't recommend it. The next appetizer was the toro roll and I think I need to order more sushi next time. The fish was incredibly fresh with a perfect amount of rice and high quality nori. I ordered the tempura udon - you really can't go wrong with the tempura here. It has a crisply light batter that is not too thick or oily. My husband got the tonkatsu curry and this always hits. The curry is so aromatic with the warm spices and the katsu is perfectly battered and cooked.

Since that visit I have returned three different times, always bringing someone different to show off this excellent restaurant find located near 73rd and Stockton Blvd Engawa Fusion is such a special place-this restaurant is over 30 minutes from my house in Natomas in traffic ,yet that never stops me from trekking my way across Sacramento-I love this place that much. On this particular visit we started with 2 different sushi tacos-We had the tuna version and the salmon version-each priced at $11.00. Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. I've described this dish in the past as a dish I could eat every day of my life and would be a very happy person. The flavor and seasonings are flawless, the noodles are cooked perfectly, great chew-a very slurpable noodle for sure. I can easily see why this dish is such a popular item on their menu. This restaurant was given a spot on Yelps Top 100 Places to eat in 2025-nothing in this visit did a thing to show that honor wasn't well deserved. In closing-I don't know if I could recommend this spot any higher and I plan many future visits whenever I want to show people how amazing the culinary experience in Sacramento has truly become. 10/10 experience. They poured a small portion of the curry on it but still the curry is very "weak". The piece of very thin beef was about 4"x4", very small portion...for $22.
