Place is modern, clean and has an outdoor patio. Robert was our server. He was super nice and funny! Menu has a ton of options. Everything is delicious. Will definitely be going back and even considering throwing work functions here.

Decided to stop by on a Sunday morning as hubby was craving chilaquiles. First time coming here and they were quite busy but well managed. We were seated immediately and were able to place our order after a few minutes of looking at the menu. I did take off 1 star as the chilaquiles was a little soggy and had a bit of a burnt taste (as if they stir fried the chips with the sauce). Might have to try this place again another time as the location itself wasn't too bad and the ambiance was lively where they had nice paintings on the walls.

Went here w my foodie friend after she heard about its opening on socials. Arrived when it opened 10am on a Thursday. Service was commendable attentive and food came out fast. I ordered the chilaquiles con birria de borrego. A birrieria so had to try the birria I'm glad I ordered the borrego (lamb) it was lean, flavorful and it was less fatty than the birria de res (beef) and combined well with the homemade tortillas. The menu has something for everyone beef, lamb, seafood, veggie, kids options . The music is played at a good volume where we could still hear each other and didn't have to scream. The inside is huge with multiple areas to sit one kind of bar side and another more like family side. They also have outdoor patio seating. Try the cafe de olla and fresh made tortillas

A new addition to Gilroy - where the old Chevy's used to be. There is a lot to like about this restaurant. This place is huge! There are two dining room areas and plenty of outdoor seating. I ordered my food to go so I didn't have a chance to dine in , but the restaurant seemed clean and organized. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. In fact, one of the staff members let me sample their beer that they offer on tap. Their menu revolves around their birria which makes sense considering the name of the restaurant. For dinner , I opted for the three birria tacos with the consome to dip the taco in. The tacos were tender and flavorful and the consome was perfect. The salsa was flavorful with the right amount of heat throughout. I also ordered a side of whole beans to try and they were OK. I usually prepare whole pinto beans over refried beans. The tortillas are handmade and they are delicious. For now, my rating stands at 4 stars. I will need to try more menu options to bump up to 5. This is a nice restaurant addition to Gilroy, and I am really hoping they make it in today's economic environment. My only concern is that place is huge and am wondering if their menu is extensive enough to fill the place . Or, is this place too specific and only fills a need when you are craving birria?

Overpriced. $25 for a small plate of birria. The food is ok in flavor & gave me diarrhea.

Let me start off by saying as a Gilroy local I was super excited for this place to open as I'm familiar with their location in Castroville. The space is awesome and the ambiance is great however the service and food lacked for me. I've been on a few occasions now and the inconsistency of the birria and drinks has me hoping they hone in and fix these issues. The service has been slow and the response even slower even on a slow night in the establishment. I'm hoping it's just a ironing out the kinks of the first few months in business kind of deal.

Tried this place for the first time and glad we did! I went for the Baja tacos and they were so delicious! My hubby got the vampiro tacos with consume and he was obsessed!!! Ohh and they brought us some chili oil that was so delicious and spicy! We will be back!

Everything was delicious & service was great! I'm so glad we gave this place a try. Good for small or large groups. Lots of seating inside. Food came out quickly. Birria had great flavor, you won't be disappointed. Tacos were BIG. Bonus points for having mocktails! Def recommend.

The food was amazing. The ambience was very relaxing. The music was the perfect level. We were able to enjoy it and at the same time enjoy a conversation without yelling at each other. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and drinks.

I have try Birrieria Coalcoman in Castroville, I decided to stop by their new location and I can say they did an amazing job with the restaurant, from the decor to the outside patio and very well designed. Very friendly staff and great service, server knew the menu very well and provided great recommendations amazing hospitality from all the staff, you have to come and try but honestly by far the best food in birria specialty it won't disappoint you. The flavors are just so flavorful. So glad they open this location.

The music playing was loud mariachi type which is fine by me. I'll mention that my guy friend and I are as white as they come and I was nervous going to this establishment as it's obviously geared towards the Hispanic community. However, there were no problems and we all got along just fine. I mention the race thing because unless you've been living under a rock, there's always a divide between Hispanics and whites and whatever and a lot of the community assumes it's too dangerous to be downtown at night because of that fact. I was born and raised in Gilroy I know how it goes . However I refuse to let that keep anybody from relaxing and having a good time..it's ridiculous to hate for no reason. There were no problems we had fun. Thank goodness there is an establishment open til 2am on most nights. We've been there twice so far. Second time was more crowded and it was a good time, no fights and no super drunk people Bring quarters for pool, there's only 2 tables. People were nice enough to let us play instead of claiming a table for the night. I would give 5 stars if they had shuffleboard and more pool tables. Maybe open earlier also like 12 for those that want to spend a day off practicing their pool game.

I can see this street being busy and parking hard to get on a weekend. The restaurant has plenty of tables but no outside seating. There is a large bar with a great selection of wine, spirits and beer. The team serving us was welcoming and attentive. They knew their wines and were happy to make great recommendations. Our party did not get to order from the food menu because it was a preset menu for dinner. There was a buffet with a protein, vegetables, salad and dessert. I took one star off because of how greasy the food was. Other than that hiccup, I would come back here on my own. The service was outstanding - attentive but no pressure. An upscale place in downtown Gilroy. I highly recommend.

It's locally family-owned and operated, and you can absolutely feel that welcoming, community energy the second you walk in. They've got a solid lineup of beers on tap with some house staples (Farmer Nelson IPA is my personal go-to) plus rotating options that keep things interesting -- we especially love the seasonal sours. They also have sodas and chips, plus their own craft root beer, which is a fun touch. There's always a food truck parked outside (except Mondays), and we've consistently had great meals to go with our drinks. The space itself is a win: bar seating with purse hooks, several large indoor tables, and a large outdoor patio. Inside you'll find two pool tables, shuffleboard, a video game area and board games. Outside there's ping pong, which makes it extra fun for groups and kids. They also have large restrooms with baby changing tables.

They even let us bring in pizza from down the street to enjoy with our drinks. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, plus a cozy little couch area to hang out. In the back, they have a couple of pool tables if you want something to do while you sip. They're definitely dog‑friendly, too. One of the coolest touches is the artwork on the ceiling, inspired by the owner's favorite record albums. They were setting up the stage for live music while we were there, unfortunately, we had to leave before the show started. They host a lot of events, including food trucks, which is always a bonus. Their beer selection is wide, and they offer samples so you can find the right fit. I tried the Farmer Nelson Hazy IPA and really enjoyed it. Their pours come in UK pint sizes (20 oz), which is a nice surprise. My wife had the Go Nuts Cream Ale and loved her pick as well.
