The dining room is large, and has many tables and booths. The service is friendly along with a relaxed atmosphere. The food is very good. Definitely would go again.

Fish taco closest and the shrimp tacos also is in the back.

Yum! Always have wanted to try this place. I normally prefer a fried fish taco, but the menu did not say how it was prepared. The shrimp tacos also said it was tilapia. So good!! A lot of fish in the taco. I ended up not wanting the cabbage or pico. Only 2 people working at noon on a Friday. So it was a bit busy with 4 tables. One guy was making the handmade tortillas and the other on the grill. My total was $29 for a Pacifico bottle, 1 fish taco, 1 shrimp taco with rice and beans. Ready to come back already.

I've been to Gaeta's Taqueria before, but I pass it numerous times a week. I was craving some chorizo and eggs with rice and beans. I like that they used lean chunky chorizo and not the greasy oily chorizo. The flavor was good on everything, but I wish they gave more rice and beans on the plate. That's the cheapest things on the plate. Their chips were standard, but their salsa was nice and spicy. I like tasty spicy salsa.

Whenever I'm in Gilroy, Gaeta's is a MUST!!! They never miss and ALWAYS consistent with the quality of food and family type atmosphere!

Steak Quesadillas - Large portion plenty of food for a later snack.

We needed to try a Mexican restaurant on this past Father's Day, and due to the high cumulative review score on Yelp we picked Gaeta's. My wife and two children were in love with their food. I was underwhelmed with mine. But due to the above average liking from my family, together combined with no time to cook tonight on our way home, they asked me if I could pick up food here to go and I thought I'd give it one last shot. I met the owner Emanuel - extremely professional, extremely friendly, and very thorough with my direct questions. It drives me crazy when I ask restaurant workers what their customers love the most on the menus and either the waiter the waitress or the hostess tell me what they personally like - which I don't care what they personally like. I want to know what the masses of customers rave about/enjoy. Emmanuel was very direct and gave me the top three favorites of his customer base. Chile Relleno was a top customer favorite if not the top number one favorite. It was something that I've had many years ago in Texas only once and wasn't impressed back then, but I thought I'd be brave and try it. And as a back up plan, I had a small shrimp quesadilla. Both the Chili Relleno as well as the Shrimp Quesadilla were OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS! Thank you Emmanuel, (and your mom) for the outstanding variety, quantity, and quality of your food here at your restaurant. And thanks also to Emiliano (one of the cooks) who made a huge impression on us the last time we were there. I would strongly recommend and will happily return!!

The restaurant decorations are so nice. The workers here are nice and friendly. They price wasn't that bad either. I was searching for a Mexican restaurant because my mother in-law was hungry, so we gps the way to the restaurant but didn't realize it's only street parking. The food here here are good and delicious. I got a carne asada burrito with everything. I even ask for sour cream. Didn't know they didn't put rice in the burrito. It's ok because without the rice the burrito tasted better.

This family owned restaurant is ran with lots of love between staff to the customers. I feel like I'm visiting family. What a great experience. The food- hands down the best authentic Mexican food around! I live in Morgan hill and drive to Gilroy when I want posole or menudo which is SERVED DAILY! Their birra tacos and dip sauce is the best I've had and I've tried all local/near by town restaurants. I even bring my friends with me and they love it and praise the service/food as well.

Service was good, but they were down a server so a bit slow. First red flag were the chips, which were stale, not crunchy or crispy. I could fold the chips in half. Also ordered a Diet Coke and a Modelo. Diet Coke was brought out in a can with no glass or ice, no glass for the beer either. At home, maybe, but would expect more at a restaurant. Ordered the chicken cheese quesadilla, Carne Asada super burrito, and a regular Carne Asada burrito. The chicken in the cheese quesadilla was a bit hard, reminiscent of leftover chicken that has been sitting for a while. Regular burrito was good, plenty of meat, beans and rice. Super burrito was mostly filled with rice and beans, not much meat. The waitress was very nice, however the food left much to be desired. Unfortunately, search for it go to Mexican restaurant in Gilroy continues.

Lots of fun ornaments on this tree. Walked up to the counter to place our order and the lady helping us was very welcoming and friendly. We orderd a plater with carnitas and one with carne asada. They both came with fried beans, mexican rice, salad, and corn tortillas. The food was good, however, I feel the recipe has changed or the cook is someone differnt as the flavor of the carnitas is not as before in the past visits here. I remember the carnitas having a almost sticky consistancy with more seasoning. In my opinion the flavor and texture have deffinatly changed.

I tried the location in San Jose as well but this one is better. Rice was perfect and beans was ok. Nacho was good too but could have had more cheese. The chips held up well probably because we ask for the salsa on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. Will have to come back again when we are out in Gilroy.

There's a sign that says "Wait to be seated", but no one came out to seat us and a group of people walked past us to go inside, were sat right away. A girl who sat us ended up being our server but took a very long time for her to come back out to even take our drink orders. I had to ask the guy bringing water and tortilla chips who our server was. Once our server arrived she was very nice and answered our menu questions. I ordered the the spicy Mamacita and my friend ordered the pina colada. Both drinks looked cool but mine was very sweet, not really spicy at all and was tiny for $15. I think I mostly paid for the presentation part...flower, popsicle, etc. We both ordered the 3 taco trio and the food came out before long. I had a mahi mahi, carne asada and a taco macho. Again, the food wasn't that great: rice and beans had an off flavor, octopus was chewy in the taco macho, and the mahi was a bit fishy. We took half our food to go and checked out. All in all I would not come back unless it was out of convenience due to the location. The food and drinks have a nice presentation, but the taste of everything wasn't there for me. Although our server was really nice and my friend and I were busy chatting, the service was slow.

It's a shame the place isn't nearly as good as it was when it first opened. The food always looks great, but the flavors are average, and the cooks can be inconsistent. You might get a great meal one day and a very "mid" one the next. If you want an aguachile that's not too spicy, the aguachile de tamarindo is a solid choice, while the mango habanero has a nice kick. The tacos are consistently good. I'd stay away from the salmon--it was overcooked--and the pasta was too greasy. The calamari bites are on the small side but have a satisfying crunch. Services was excellent.
