We did dinner, drinks, and a little bowling and had the best time. The vibe is upbeat and modern, and the food honestly exceeded our expectations. We shared the meat lovers pizza, a burger, and the southwest egg rolls. Everything came out hot and fresh. The burger was cooked perfectly and the pizza was delicious. A gem in the heart of Gilroy Loved my experience here and will definitely be returning. First off, the environment and atmosphere is perfect, it's a hangout/lounge, with a bar, a dining area, and of course the lanes. The couches are extremely comfortable, to where you can hangout and drink for hours. All the staff was extremely and accommodating for a Saturday in all sections, bar, bowling and food staff. Lanes felt well waxed without any big grooves or dents which is always a plus. My only complaint would be that the cheese literally falls off the pizza when you take a bite. But other than that, had a great time with the family and will definitely return and recommend this alley to others! read more

String pins and zero oil on the lanes is absolutely crazy. 0 stars for lane quality if you use a reactive/hook ball. I had to put my ball back in my bag and use the house balls and roll like a kid to get my moneys worth. For $40 an hour for a solo bowler on a Tuesday, being the ONLY bowler in the building is absurd. Don't want to absolutely rip the place, but for a regular bowler with expectations, this place is not for you. BUT, it is very clean and the staff was all very nice(except for the owner giving his trainee weird attitude for asking for help ringing me up). Amazing addition to downtown Gilroy!!! Reserved one lane initially in advance via their website for a Tuesday night to celebrate a birthday with the family and we had so much fun! We had a party of 10, including 3 small children, so ended up adding an additional lane when we arrived, with zero issues. If needed, there are bumpers and bowling assist ramps for the kids too. The check-in was seamless, the service was exceptional, and everyone was accommodating and friendly! We ordered drinks and food as well, which was all great. Everyone enjoyed it, especially the wings! I believe they have a bowling league every Tuesday and Thursday night. The space is decent, lots of table seating area for those who just want to hangout and dine instead of bowl. There's also a large bar area! Our first time to the new Gilroy Bowl. First impression? Amazing place. And loud. The new owners did an incredible job with the interior. But this review is solely for the food. My wife ordered the salmon power bowl. I ordered the chicken power bowl (literally brown rice, red beans, corn, and farro) with a thin piece of dry chicken on top. The food was decent. I can make that dish better at home. But the two power bowls, and a glass of cranberry juice, with top, was $70. At a bowling alley. Come on! I will go back to bowl. Wow! Came here tonight with my family after years of being away from the area. To say this place has changed is an understatement. This definitetly isn't my grandparent's bowling alley! Plenty of TV's and modern lighting in a very enjoyable open space. We shared several pizzas and the kiddos had their corn dog bites and chicken tenders. Wifey was a tad perturbed that there weren't enough kid ball ramps but the place was full with other little ones so they got a pass. New boss man assured us he would order some more this week. Other lanes were willing to share so it worked out for everyone. He also refilled our kids lemonades without being askes which was awesome as we weren't sure if there were refills. The kids loved this place! The employees were all super helpful and kind. Everything is new and shiny! This place is the Vibe! We also love the fact there is a separate bar area if the adults wanted to have a beverage or three for some big kid time. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't regret it. Worst bartender I've ever had. This is the second time JR was bartending and both times it literally takes 10-15 minutes for him to even acknowledge you. Both times there were less than 5 people at the bar but he would rather be on his phone or just looking around and not helping anyone. Once you get a drink, if he come back to check on you within 20 minutes it's a miracle. I've never seen a bartender just ignore everyone rather than just look their way to see if they need anything. He will literally avoid eye contact and keep just walking around not actually doing anything. I guarantee this guy is costing you business. Instead of having a few drinks I'm sure people just leave like we did because of his service. It would be different if he was running around doing anything but he will just sit at the bar staring at his phone or into space rather than helping anyone. Can't believe you have someone like this working at such a nice place. He totally ruins the atmosphere and makes me never want to return and tell everyone I know. Gilroy Bowl is very charming. Although it has 9 lanes it feels much larger. A full bar as you enter leads into the cafe seating and further the bowling area. I'm a terrible bowler but had fun with a friend bowling for a couple of hours. They have a summer special with $20 for an hour of play. I can't wait to go again! read more

We had a great visit to Gilroy Bowl January 2025. I had made a reservation online which I had heard was recommended due to limited lanes available. Our party of two adults and two kids really enjoyed the bowling! Everything is new and clean. I went to ask for waters during bowling because we were all thirsty and the gentleman brought it out for all of us, which was great customer service! I do think it should be standard to put a pitcher of water and glasses for bowlers as a courtesy. After bowling we ate there and had some pizzas and French fries. Food was pretty good. It is expensive but we really enjoyed ourselves. All the employees were friendly and we had great customer service throughout. I highly recommend Gilroy Bowl! read more

If you are looking for a venue for a birthday party, you have found your spot. We hosted my kid's birthday party at Gilroy Bowl this last week and it went so smoothly. From making the initial call to reserve to coming to set up; the party itself could not have gone any better. Each of the employees and the manager went out of their way the entire time to make sure that all of the kids and the adults in the party had what we needed. They moved all tables and chairs together for us and refused to let us help. We ordered food and drinks when we arrived and I was shocked to see them coming out not even 15 minutes later. They even had my kid's names on the big screen to help celebrate. It was very clear to me that none of us were a hassle to them, but they were an extension to our party and brought such positive vibes with them to lift everyone else up. Made reservations online for a Thursday night for a party of 10. It was an easy process, but didn't like that we had to pay a processing fee. I tried to call and make reservations over the phone and in person to avoid paying the additional fee, but they only take reservations online. Otherwise, we had such a blast! Food and drinks were good. Ordered fries, pizzas, and wings- and lots of drinks, cocktails, beers and wine. Found out that we can bring our own bottle of wine and pay a corkage fee. Went there tonight, for the first time since it re-opened under new ownership/management. Unfortunately, the wall(s) separating the dining area from the bowling lanes are no longer there, and music was turned up so as to be heard OVER THE DIN of bowling (and loud, shouting bowlers). We could not carry on a conversation without shouting. We decided to order burgers to go, simply becuse of the noise. (We were both getting headaches from the noise. I should have thought to check the decibel level on an app that does that, but I didn't.) Service was friendly, professional and quick. It is a very noisy bar atmosphere and typical for popular places. It was a little hard to get seating in dining area for larger than party of 8 on a Saturday evening. We got luckily and pushed a couple tables together. Delicious pizza; crunchy outer crust, soft in the middle; the tomato sauce was delicious.
