This place is right down the street from where I work. Usually there Wednesday through Sunday. My lunch break is pretty late and whenever I wanted to go, I would drive by it looked like they were packing up. Well, I had an earlier lunch one day last week and decided that it was the day I would check them out. Grabbed my friend at work, and we drove down. Parked in the Bliss lot and walked over. The owner was outside as well as 2 other workers. Talked to him for a bit and he told us he was from Tijuana and he broke down the menu for us. I went with a whole order of birria and my buddy went with the quesabirria. Total was like $18 bucks, my buddy paid and dropped $2 in the tip jar. We took our food to go and ate it back at work. Here is how it was....................... Orden de Birria- $10.99, you get a nice sized styrofoam cup full of consome (broth) and meat, as well as 6 tortillas. I tasted the broth first, and it was pretty darn delicious. I dug near the bottom and got some of the birria. Nice and tender and good flavor. I constructed myself a couple of tacos and went to town. Consome and birria were delicious. The tortillas on the other hand were just ok. They were just plain old corn tortillas. By the time I was on my 4th one, they started to curl up and get kind of hard. Kind of a buzzkill, but whatever. I ate all of them and then finished most of the consome. My buddy said his quesabirria was pretty bomb and that will be the item I try out next time. You get a quesabirria and a little styrofoam cup of consome for about $7. Not bad. I haven't had too much birria in my life, but this is up there with some of the best I've had in the USA. (Tacos Fitos in Tijuana makes the best birria in the land though, and I always judge any birria against that.) 4 stars for now, but once I run through their menu, definitely possibility of a 5. This place is always packed in the mornings, and for good reason. The owner also said they will be open from 8am-8pm once it cools down a bit. That will be awesome! I have been looking for a good place to get Birria since I moved to PHX a year ago however had not been able to try any restaurants until now. Birrieria Tijuana was a solid start to my journey of finding good birria. I'll admit I was a little nervous when I stopped for takeout on a Friday night and saw only one couple eating at the restaurant meanwhile a couple of stores next there was a packed Mexican restaurant. I'm glad I pursued my initial choice because the quesabirria was delicious. It was rich, flavorful and the meat was very tender. I don't think this is something I recommend eating regularly since it was pretty high in fat but if you ever want to indulge this is a good spot. read more

Stupendous. I came in and asked what I should eat here and then watched three other people do it too. So let me help you out. First, order the horachata. It's real and really good. They give you a vat of it. Most places give you a few ounces loaded with ice. This place doesn't skimp. Then order the quesabirria. It's a good serving of their main attraction. Birria beef, cheese, tortilla, and then cilantro/onion if you like life. It's quality, beautiful, and filling. It comes with the sauce for dunking. I didn't love the dunking. It didn't feel like it was dry or needed the dunk. I did think the birria needed extra heat. It lacks spiciness but they've got this salsa in red dispensers to the left of the register. Get some pour it all over the quesabirria and go. They do a lot of fun stuff with the birria here: ramen, sandwiches, burritos, or just bulk birria. Think about getting 32 ounces of birria and serving it at home. That would be a hit. This place is immaculately clean, tons of seating, tons of parking. read more

Disappointed This was my first visit to Birrieria Tijuana. The staff is friendly and accomdating, and thats why I feel terriberible having to say the food just wasn't very good on this visit. On this visit we ordered the birria tacos . I was disappointed with the tacos, the meat was somewhat dry and slightly overcooked. Maybe, I just went on an off day and will have to try it again. The pricing is very wallet friendly, you can get a better Mexican meal, but you'll have a hard time getting more food for the price. read more

Had the X3 quesabirria carne asada lunch special-- they were fresh, authentic, and fantastic --10/10, and I will be back. The atmosphere inside was perfect. Omg this is definitely one of the best taco trucks I have ever tried. We inhaled everything before we even took a picture of the food. I went there 3/21 2pm with my boyfriend. Their currently location is at 30th and union hills but they will move to their permanent location in a month which is shown on the Yelp. We got 2 quesatacos, 1 tortas and 1 mulitas. Tacos are so flavorful, meat is juicy and cheese is AMAZING. Dip you taco in the cilantro water, so fresh and tasty. Tbh, everything tastes just soo good. Taco Tuesday here we come. We had the combo mixed with Birriera and Asada. Both very tasty but we'd both agree the Asada was the tastier of the two. The plate comes with 3 tacos, no sides but it's plenty to fill you up. Staff was very friendly and helpful helping us choose a meal. Pricy for just tacos and no sides but I understand the world we live in today and try to support as many mom and pops places as possible. read more

Not bad but not great. They put plenty of meat but the broth flavor and tortillas aren't there yet for me. There's another birria places I'd rather go to in the valley. Especially since this place isn't cheap. The torta was the best out of the birria ramen, tacos and torta that we got. We had churros for dessert which were pretty good. read more

I had shredded beef tacos and they were excellent. I didn't realize they would be the small street taco size but the meat was generous so two of these were a meal. This is a little unnoticeable strip center location with no ambiance, so I recommend carryout. read more

Food was decent, they made their birria tacos different, where the shell is thick cheese. The service is where I took away 2 stars. We're a Puerto Rican mixed family of 4, but we look white. There was only 1 line with 1 register. We ordered our food, then a Spanish speaking family of 6 came after we ordered. The Spanish family received all their food first within 10 minutes, and our kids saw this and got really upset because they were "starving." We waited over 30 minutes for our food, which included all the take out orders that we were being picked up. Racism is alive and thriving in this establishment. If you don't speak Spanish, expect to be served last, or when they feel like it.... read more

Fist time having a birria taco - this place was delicious. A must try . Dont be fooled by the location- this is the real deal - family friendly, super service, very clean & covid safe. I've worked near this place for a while now and it wasn't until seeing fellow yelper's pictures that I knew I had to go! When walking up we weren't sure what to think as the location is a bit iffy, but instantly this all melted away. We were greeted and treated warmly our entire visit. The food is fresh and flavor packed. We tried a bit of everything, but the quesa birria was my absolute favorite! It was a yummy taco filled with cilantro, red onion, beef, and melted cheese. It came with a side of consome, which added even more flavor. For drinks, we went with lemonade and bottled coke. If you are looking for a no flair, amazing taco joint, you must try. This will definitely be a lunch staple now for our group seeing that we already planned our next visit even before leaving! read more

In town from Los Angeles. Stopped for lunch and let me start off with staff they were really friendly We ordered tacos that come with consome, we also ordered some quesaberrias BOMB! We were looking for something to eat and this hit the spot. Funny thing don't mind strip club next door lol. Recommend this 100%. Consome was not greasy and meat had a very good taste. Their beans melt in your mouth, and you can buy a cup to go that reheats well. Their food quality is very consistent, and the wait time is never more than a few minutes. The guys behind the counter are all very friendly and efficient. There are a few tables inside, but their patio has much more seating. The salsa bar is well stocked, with the tomatillo salsa and avocado salsa being my favorites. I do wish they separated their cilantro and onion, because the mix they serve is very onion heavy and cilantro light. The restaurant is almost always busy, especially during weekends and evenings.

As someone who pays attention to food safety and hygiene, this was pretty off-putting. Gloves only help if they're changed after touching non-food items. It would be much more sanitary if the order were displayed on a screen, called out verbally, or if employees changed gloves after handling receipts before preparing food. The tacos are excellent, but I hope they improve this part of their food-handling process because it's an easy fix that would make the overall experience much better.

Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. The bottled table salsas deserve their own paragraph because they completely confused me... in the best way. They bring three to the table... a green, a red, and a darker red. I kept tasting them individually thinking, "Okay, these are alright." Then I started mixing them. Game over. On their own, each one was solid. Mixed together? That was the magic. I don't know if that's what they intended or if I accidentally stumbled onto the perfect combination, but from that point on, every taco got the salsa trio treatment. The only tiny hiccup was when we first walked in. We were greeted, asked if we wanted menus, and sat ourselves. We waited for a bit thinking someone would come take our order, only to realize it's actually counter service. Once we figured that out, everything was smooth sailing. Not a big deal at all... just something first-time visitors might want to know. Follow the sign "order here" I also loved the layout. You can actually watch them making the food, which somehow makes the wait even harder because everything smells incredible. Two tacos ended up being the perfect light meal for me. Could I have eaten ten? Absolutely. Those two statements can both be true. Meanwhile, my dining partner polished off four barbacoa tacos and was talking about ordering two more. We only ended up here because another place happened to be closed, and honestly, I'm glad it worked out that way. This ended up being one of those meals we keep talked about on the drive home. Oh and the bathrooms?. I walked in and immediately thought, "Whoa... this is a cool bathroom" The lighting had this pinkish-purple glow that made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a trendy lounge instead of a taco shop. I honestly wasn't even sure there was regular lighting in there and I didn't look... because the vibe seemed so intentional. Finally, the music. .. upbeat, dance-worthy, the kind that had me bouncing in my seat while waiting for my food. My first visit was back in 2023 on June 10, the day my life changed for the better. They have a creative menu with seasonal changes that no other Thai restaurant can do. If you're looking for a pad thai, look somewhere else and please expand your horizons. I have tried almost every dish here and two things I will always order is their green mango salad and crab curry. I prefer mango over papaya, and it is the most perfect, refreshing salad I have ever had. The mango is always fresh, and the toasted coconut and peanuts on top pair so well with the lime and fish sauce. The stir-fried crab curry is extremely impressive with their generous portion of crab meat and fragrant turmeric curry. A few other dishes I highly recommend are their beef shank curry, seabass curry, and the stir-fried Tom Yum wide noodles. You really can't go wrong with any of the dishes here! I will be coming back to try the fried whole branzino. We've tried arai kodai, which is their chef's choice option and they personalize the meal for you based on your preferences and group size. Every dish they brought out was unique and so so good. For $55 per person, we thought this was great value considering how full we got and the variety of dishes we were able to try (including some that were off-menu). I also love that they promote eating family-style here and bring out all the dishes as they're ready - exactly how food is meant to be enjoyed. The ambiance is amazing for a special occasion or date night. It will for sure impress. Come here if you want a solid, just incredible meal from amazing people who are passionate about their food! I've never ever seen a restaurant do that before. Really not that bad but really not worth the $20-$40 price tags either. I'm open to coming back and trying other dishes. I really think I may have came on a bad night.
