We have catered two events through Biryani Hut and their customer service and food has been fantastic every time! Their chef visited our location a few days before the event to ensure adequate amenities and all of our guests loved the food. What was really impressive is that when we went to return their food containers, they were so friendly and gave us chai/biryani even though we were just returning supplies. I am so DISAPPOINTED in the food that I got. I ordered butter chicken with garlic naan and my order came with literally seven pieces of chicken (in the picture I put all the chicken my order came with on the right) AND I paid $27 for it and left a tip. I also stood at the cash register and waited for a solid 2 minutes before someone came to help me. There was a guy who looked at me more than once. He was standing in the kitchen - door open - about 5 feet in front of me and couldn't be bothered to help me or at least grab someone who could. If I could give this place zero stars I would. This is also the same establishment as "dosa point Indiana". I'm not sure why there are two names. I've never left a review before but I felt the need to warn others about my family's experience. When we entered the restaurant it was empty but every single table was left dirty and covered in dishes while a man sat on a laptop at a table in the front. We didn't think anything of it at that point and figured maybe they just had a dinner rush and got behind. 20 or so minutes pass, we were still the only people in there, and still none of the tables were picked up. Our appetizer was brought out along with plates and silverware. My son picked up his fork and noted that it felt sticky, so I picked mine up and noticed the sticky/grimey feeling immediately. After taking a closer look it became VERY clear that it was. not. washed. and was just wiped off from previous use. Given the appearance of the dining room and the dirty silverware I can't even imagine what the kitchen looked like. We left immediately. I came to Biryani Hut for Devour Indy and wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised! It's a small, casual, restaurant with some booth and table seating. They were playing Bollywood music on the TV screens (very good Bollywood music!) as well. The food was so good! Our favorites were the chicken appetizers, especially the pepper fry chicken!! This chicken was so juicy, soft, and flavorful. If we were to go again, we would probably just order loads of the pepper fry chicken. The biryani was good too, but honestly it wasn't the star of the meal. We had rasmalai for dessert and it was pretty good as well. The service was fast and the servers were very nice and attentive, always asking if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our meal. Moreover, this place is Halal so it's great for anyone looking for Halal/Kosher options. I really did enjoy the food here and will be coming back! read more

I like this place! I went with the chicken tikka masala ($11) and some garlic naan ($4). Huge portion of chicken tikka masala - it was basically 1.5 portions so you get good value for what you're paying. A nitpick is I wish the sauce was thicker, but it was good. The garlic naan was the best I've ever had. The service was great. The inside decor is dated. The okra was sliced and in a masala curry sauce. Typically this dish is a dry stir fry, but the curry sauce was a nice change. 4 stars - Chili garlic gobi. Sweet and spicy. More on the sweet side, but still good. I got this because it reminded me of Gobi Manchurian and it was cooked in a similar fashion. Fried cauliflower tossed in an indo-chinese saucy coating. 4 stars - Veg Mix Curry. Green beans, corn, and cauliflower. I would have liked some potato in this to round it out. Curry flavor wasn't as dominant and more of a mild flavor curry. 4 stars - Naan was more flat than fluffy. That's okay though cause the rice was awesome. They always burn some of them so I decided to call first to let them know not to burn them. I came home and saw nothing but completely burnt naans. And they weren't burn just some but all brown. I called them to let them know but they decided to hang up the phone when I made the complaint. They hang up the phone 3 times on me. We had heard such great things about this place, but it was a huge disappointment. The selection was remarkably meager. Our server mixed up the spicy and mild entrees, so we each didn't get what we requested. We weren't overly impressed with our meals, regardless of the spice levels. It was almost unbearably hot in the dining room--I wondered if their AC was broken. Finally, the one girl working the front kept playing Taylor Swift songs over the dining room sound system the entire time. (I'm sure some people share her love of Taylor Swift, but we got pretty sick of it.) I mentioned it on social media later, and a friend told me that they used to be really good, but they're now under new management. Sometime that day I was searching for different places to get dinner from to celebrate our 12 yr anniversary early since my lady had to work during the week. We decided to give this place a try. I want to mention when looking at their menu, be careful on what you are ordering as their menu is a little deceiving. When we placed an order we seen you could get both half and a full tandoor chicken, to be honest its only a half or full order of what was like chicken legs, not the full chicken at all. So their menu needed to be reworded. Also we were asked how we wanted the meal cooked, m lady strictly said very mild, but I guess very mild and mild still in their eyes equals hot. This is either the case or they do not care what their customers want and will cook how they wish, just an opinion. So this is what we orders: 1 x Biryani Goat Fry, Family Pack, Mild, very mild please 1 x Tandoor Chicken full order (was suppose to be full chicken according to menu, but this was false advertised), Medium Tamarin and Mint chutney 2 x Garlic Naan So to give an idea how this order was I will start from the top to bottom of the list: So from what I could taste with the goat it had flavor, but way too much heat, also to add the goat has many sharp bones, so be very careful when biting in it. Because I feel they only cook the goat one way they mixed it with the biryani rice and well besides creating some good flavor it created too much heat as well, for started we asked for something very mild because my lady can not handle spicy dishes and I honestly should not being doing anything too spicy as this meal was. The Tandoor Chicken even though not a full chicken, still was good and had flavor. The Garlic Naan as well had great flavor. Now originally I wanted us to order an appetizer, but the person who took our order informed us them meal came with an appetizer, so we did not order samosas as we originally planned too. We were told we would get an order of Goat Fry, which sadly did not come with our order. My Lady did happen to phone in and informed the person who took the order that this was our first time, also that an appetizer was not included. We were informed we could come in the next day after her shift to pick an item on menu out for free as a compensation. I will be honest it was a nice gesture, but after talking things over we decided to just not go back again, if a customer is asked if they want very mild, or mild and they are given very spicy anyways, what is the point of even trying them again. I am unsure if other customers have ever had this issue or not, but just be warned if you can not have spicy food and ask for mild, I guess it will be a 50/50 situation, maybe we came at a bad time. I was told the gent who gave my lady her order was too busy on the phone when we picked u our order, so right there, business is more important than making sure one your customers orders is correct, they did not bother to do a quality check of the order. read more

This place has definitely improved since I was here in 2019. The seasoning was just too salty for me. I prefer my Jalfrezi a little chunkier (more vegetables) the chilly chicken had the right flavor profile (however the seasoning was a bit off) I think it would be fantastic if they weren't so heavy handed with the salt. read more

Great experience overall! Food: We loved garlic nan bread but not too much of onion one. There's nothing wrong with the taste. Maybe it's just my preference on onion texture. Fried rice with medium hot shrimp was tasty. However even though we ordered mild on all other dishes, it had some kicks. It's not really good for kids if they can't eat spicy food. Parking: Restaurant is located in a strip mall so plenty of parking space and convenient. Service: There's nothing bad about service because you will get whatever you order in decent time. However they are not too friendly but it's ok with me as long as I get my food in time. I haven't tried a buffet yet but I'm looking forward to it. Ordered takeout from Biryani Hut through door dash to try and had a pretty good experience. The food arrived still very very hot. I had the chili chicken and it was hot hot hot, just how I like it. My boyfriend had the butter chicken and though it was good, not over the top awesome but still hits the craving. They sadly were out of basmati rice and gave us white rice, it didn't match quite as well. But j think we will give it another shot, my entree especially was delicious! read more

3 out of my last 4 orders was missing food. Rubbery chicken, goat vindaloo is mainly goat bones with little meat, and shockingly bland tasteless Indian food. Mild and Medium heat is the same. I was so happy to see the aloo gobi came with a bit of sauce, but wasn't overwhelmed in it. The chicken was also great- they were small pieces but there were a lot of them. We were asking what all was on the menu and we're trying to get details about certain items on the menu! I have been craving some Indian food since my neighbor shared some with me years ago. I am a creature of habit and therefore usually only try new places that are highly recommended. I was in the area and stumbled upon the Biryani Hut. The two gentleman who worked the counter or possibly the owners were very inviting and kind. I wasn't sure what to order and there was a language barrier (for me) so I asked if they had a menu with pictures or possibly something on the wall. There was even a buffet that was covered I could not look at. Even the menu wasn't very descriptive of ingredients, so that would be my only complaint. Consumers need to relate to their purchases. I told the gentleman I'd like something with no meat or dairy and with a lot of vegetables. He made some suggestions and I asked him to please mark them on the menu for future visits. I went with the Veg Kurma and something else; however, only one order was made. Again, a miscommunication. I was only charged for the item I received. It was delicious!! I also got plenty of naan bread. I will definitely return as I am curious about other options. But I'll be guessing and see what happens. Fun, right!? read more

Ok, we were a party of 6 for the Saturday brunch buffet. The buffet is from 11-4pm. We arrived around 1 pm. We were the first ones there, so the waiter removed the covers from the chafers once we were ready to eat. We were disappointed from the moment we saw the paper plates and plastic ware to put the saucy food on. The food wasn't hot....and none of it tasted good.
