Great option for a fast, filling and delicious lunch during the workweek. Met the hubs, too. Again, everything was hot and tasty. Love the garlic naan. Staff also were very nice in explaining to me some of the dishes. #yum #ReviewsByRL

Amber was a great last minute call for me and my friends to meet up at! The food was very well prepared and generous portion sizes. The atmosphere was okay, but fairly small space and even with three people we felt like the loud group. Still would recommend this for your Indian food fix!

Looks are deceiving. We pulled up to the restaurant and it looked a little run down but I've learned places that look like this have the best food. My friends and I's favorite Indian spot was closed so we had to quickly find a backup. We came upon this place and decided to give it a try. It was great! There was only one other table filled and a lot of take-out orders ready to go. Service was fast and food was delicious. Can't go wrong with chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. We also tried a new (to us) appetizers - vegetable pakora. I love anything fried so there was a 100% chance it was going to be good. Happy to have found a back-up Indian spot!

JULY 6th RESUMES BUFFET!! You heard it here first. This was my first, highly anticipated trip to Amber Indian. I was bummed the buffet wasn't open but HOT DIGGITY the food sure was tasty. Authentic Indian with American portions- wayyy more food than one serving. So the prices really do the flavor justice. I can eat on this a couple more times. The veggie platter was mainly spinach and onion, some ghee and potatoes- nonetheless flavorful. The aloo matter & chicken makhini WERE DELICIOUS TOGETHER!! Combined you get your full serving of spiced veggies and butter chicken. Just mix those two on top of your rice and WELCOME TO FLAVA TOWN! Can't wait to come back for the buffet

The interior was surprisingly large and nice (table cloths, flowers, glasswear.) The Bollywood (rap/rock) music videos on the TVs seemed a little out of sorts with the nicer ambiance, but it was easy to ignore the TVs. Service was extremely pleasant & efficient. We had the samosa appetizer, garlic naan, hubs had the chicken tikka and I had the tandoori veg momos. Aromas & flavors on everything was very nice. They also have a $16.99 lunch buffet that we are eager to come back & try. #yum #ReviewsByRL

Incredibly disappointed. We've been several times for both sit down meals and takeout and had great…read morefood and service (aside from that one time they served us moldy cake from the pastry case) but we will not be back after what happened last week. I ordered takeout and when I got home I saw that the "steamed" momos were burnt to a crisp and dried out. I also ordered masala noodles and it was literally just spaghetti with a sweet tomato sauce. Absolutely no masala flavor, and the fact that they used regular spaghetti noodles was baffling and unappetizing. I called the restaurant and the person on the phone said "yeah there is a problem with the steamer, we will replace them". I asked why they would look at this burnt appetizer and still send it, because that feels super dishonest- they knew it was inedible but because it was a takeout order, they decided to serve it anyways. He couldn't answer that. They told me to bring the momos back and they'd replace them. I said no, I've just worked 13 hours and will not be driving another 20 minutes to go back to their restaurant. I'd like a refund. He said that's not possible and offered to give me a free meal next time we came in. I said there will not be a next time as their dishonesty was seriously off-putting and I'd like a refund and again he said that's not possible. I'm attaching their advertised photos of the 2 dishes I ordered and also pictures of what they served me.

Our foodie group came to try out a new Indian restaurant Honest in the Castleton area. This is a…read morebrand new Indian restaurant in a strip mall across from Castleton Square, and the ambiance is very nice and clean with wonderful Bollywood music playing in the seating area, and a very unique water fountain in the lobby area. The service was wonderful and terrific. The woman behind the counter took very good care of our group and answered all of our questions on the menu items. The menu was very diverse and had a lot of items that I did not recognize, so I did ask a lot of questions. I ended up getting the hot and sour soup and the paneer tikki marsala with jeera rice and garlic naan. I had the masala tea to drink with my meal. Other people ordered curry dishes and Indian platter with chutney. A couple people ordered an Indian drink which was very different and unusual, and I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the drink, but it looked like Greek salad dressing, and it did have an unusual taste to it. It was not horrible and I could drink it if I had to, but I probably would not order it again if I was back at Honest. Overall, the food was excellent and terrific. I will say the hot and sour soup is the hottest soup I have ever had in my life! If you order the hot and sour soup, be prepared to drink a lot of water and have your sinuses cleared in an instant! It is extremely hot, but it is excellent at the same time. You definitely need to sip this soup carefully and not take full spoonfuls at once. The paneer tikki marsala was heaven in my mouth and it paired very well with the jeera rice and garlic naan bread. The garlic naan bread was very fluffy and tasted perfect in my mouth. It was the best garlic naan bread I have had from an Indian restaurant. The Marsala tea was fantastic and paired very well with the meal. Everyone was very satisfied with their meal, though some could not handle the spiciness of their entrees. Be aware when you order your entree or sides at Honest, that the spicy level is not like any other Indian restaurants in Indy. I recommend mild level of spicy when you order an entree at Honest. Otherwise, your mouth will be on fire LOL! You will still be satisfied regardless with your meal because the food is excellent and high quality. This was a great Indian restaurant in Indy, so everyone needs to come check it out because it is worth it and the ambiance is very relaxing. The complimentary water station in the seating area is a nice touch and well worth it because you will need water with your meal. Honest Indianapolis is worth the price and experience, so come check it out and try something new. You will not be disappointed!

Yes there is water from a water cooler, BUT with teeny tiny cups that are maybe 3 inches tall. You can get some other drinks such as specialty drinks or canned/bottled things from the fridge. On the other hand, despite being a carnivore, I thoroughly enjoyed the food here. For starters I had the hot and sour soup... yeah I know, not exactly Indian, but Indo-chino. It was different than expected, but very good. Actually a bit spicy and seemed to have ginger pieces in it along with a lot of unindentifible things and absolutely delicious. I tried the Bhaji Pav, which is ... well I really have no idea, but it comes with a large dish of goodness, seems to maybe have lentils or chickpeas in it. It's pureed and has a wonderful spice combination, maybe a hint of curry, but not spicy at all. Comes with finely chopped onions, a lime wedge and 2 soft buttered buns. I would definitely order this again. The most impressive looking dish was the Thali, basically a sampler dish, which has naan, a savory yoghurt based drink, several cups of various dishes and even a little dessert. I might get that next time to explore more of the options here. And as I already mentioned, the staff is very sweet and patiently explained the different dishes to my group. With 8 of us not having any clue, I have to say, this lady had the patience of a a saint.
