Banghan Barta if I'm at Taj Mahal in encino (L.A.) but otherwise chicken tikka masala. If I was stuck on a desert island...with only one food to eat... forever...yadayadayada... Yeah. Indian. This place scratched the itch for tikka masala. I always feel bad ordering tikka masala from an Indian restaurant because there are so many other delicious things within the Indian cuisine, but I always go for this singularly British dish. Oh well. I like my tikka masala, dang it. I did change it up a bit and got the paneer tikka masala instead of the chicken tikka masala, so there's that. The paneer tikka masala is good -- the paneer is delightfully squeaky when you bite into it, and the pieces of cheese are the perfect size. Entrees come with rice and naan, either plain or garlic. I got my food to go, and like almost all food, I think it would taste better when you actually sit down and eat it in the restaurant. But as for takeout, it was super easy to order online, and my order was ready in less than 15 minutes. Let me preface this review with saying I just do not think I care for Indian food in general. We went here for lunch and my coworkers enjoyed the food. The dining room seemed well kept and updated. We arrived right at 11am when they opened and there was no music or background noise for about 45 mins so it was really awkwardly silent. I ordered chicken fried rice from the Indo-chinese section of the menu because I know I generally don't care for Indian flavors. I thought maybe I could try something that was a little different and I was pretty disappointed with still having heavy indian flavors. The naam bread was really good. The staff was not too friendly either and almost seemed bothered by us. I doubt I will be back but again take it with a grain of salt because I just do not care for this type of food. read more

This is the best Indian food I've had in awhile. We started with the vegetable samosas which were great. Plenty of sauces brought to the table to go alongside them. We also ordered the lamb korma and the chicken tikka masala (thanks to other Yelp reviews). The korma is the best I've had and like the other reviews stated, the tikka masala was top tier as well. Highly recommend both. Best of all was the garlic naan. You can tell it was freshly made and cooked well enough to rise. Not overbearing on the garlic like a lot of other places. The wait staff was very attentive, constantly filling our water. We chose to dine in and look forward to the next time we can either go again or order from home. read more

One of the best Indian restaurants in Indy! They have a vast menu and everything tastes really good. I highly recommend to try their Sunday buffet. Their garlic naan is always hot and fresh. Their food is not too spicy, but they can make as spicy as you want. I would give them a five, but the service isn't the best. Our servers usually don't come back to refill waters unless we try to get their attention. At our most recent visit, we tried to get our server's attention so that we could get waters and boxes, but when he saw us, he went inside the kitchen and never came back out. The receptionist, who is probably the owner, was very nice and he would fill our waters. Other than the service, this is a great place to get Indian food. read more

My go to Indian restaurant in Indy for the last ~15 years. Their wide selection of curries, biryani, and other Indian dishes are comforting and delicious. The inside of the restaurant is no-frills. We usually opt for take-out, which provides generous portions for a reasonable price. When dining in, the service is quick and professional. I decided to try some Indian food through Amber Indian restaurant with Uber Eats. The food was incredible for Indian food. The chicken Tikki Marsala with jasmine rice was fantastic. It was the perfect amount of flavors combined into a great dish. The tomato soup was delicious and had a lovely taste. The vegetable samosas were unique and different, but they were good and tasted great. The naan bread was a perfect compliment for the Chicken Tikki Marsala, and tasted wonderful. I have driven past the restaurant many times, and have looked inside the restaurant. It does have a beautiful ambiance from what I can tell. I cannot speak to the service since I have not been to the restaurant, but I will plan on dining in the restaurant very soon to get the full experience and service from the staff. This used to be an Indian restaurant that had good food. Our group of seven started our New Years Eve there and we're hugely disappointed. The waiter would not write down orders and then brought us incorrect meals. Mild orders came medium to hot spicy. Medium orders came mild to the point of bland. The 2 biryani orders were wrong -we both got lamb instead of the one chicken and one Amber Special biryani we ordered. Our friend who ordered kulfi got coffee. Then we found the kulfi is prepackaged in a freezer display. The service and food were both seriously subpar for all of us. It will be a good long while before we go back, if ever. read more

I went for the lunch buffet. They offer you garlic or regular naan and they refill it. The lunch buffet has a lot of options and they make sure to refill before they run low. Some of the curries are spicy so be aware (I do not remember if they marked spice level). The menu seems to be different from time to time so what you had one day might not be there another day. They are always busy at lunch time (with so many corporate companies nearby). They are very attentive and make sure everything is okay. We catered a birthday lunch for 50 people. The delivery person required my guests to help carry the food into my home as he was understaffed. The food was tasty but we were grossly oversold on quantity. The delivery person charged a 3% surcharge on a check! We tipped the delivery person (should have tipped my guests who did the work) and then later he told us he was too busy to pick up the catering materials so we should bring them back ourselves. He doesn't understand why his things didn't arrive. A Doordash credit doesn't fix a ruined dining experience. And there are other Indian restaurants around here now. This review is for Saturday March 26, 2022 So my lady and I have had a hit or miss when trying Indian Restaurants, but we were happy when we found this place even though we had to drive our of our way to get our food. Next time if in the area we will stop in to grab and go. As far as eating in, no one seems to wear a mask whether it be the staff or customers. As many know because my health with my kidneys, I ted to not eat in anymore since I am a high risk and covid still has yet to go away 100%. So for this day we placed an order for the following: Vegetable Samosa Shrimp Buryani Plain Rice for the Lamb Saag Lamb Saag Amber Special Mixed Grill 2 orders of Garlic Naan(not pictured) So as usual my lady and I share our meal with one another, and everything was flavorful. the only issue we had, but not really the restaurants issue, is by the next day as we had left overs, everything tasted spicy, so we could not really eat our left overs because of this. So if you have issues with spicy food, I would suggest getting a meal you can eat in one sitting, or you might have spicy food the next day. Because of the oils and spices used, everything seems to marinate over night and well BAM! spicy happens lol. Hands down the BEST Indian food you could find here in the state of Indiana! We have been around Indiana for three years and we weren't impressed with their Indian food except this one! The service. Did a delivery of Amber Indian which arrived quick, hot and fresh. Tikka Masala - delicious. Generous on the chicken, nice creamy sauce. Good spice. Naan - it was good. I wish they had packaged the plain and garlic separately so I'll know to ask next time. Gobi Manchurian - if you haven't tried this dish, it is well worth it. Been here since the early buffet days, and this place will give you a very interested look on authentic Indian food! I go here almost every week whether it be family or friends because it does a great job in hooking you in. The staff is respectful, kind, and considerate of the customers. Looking at the restaurant, it is actually very elegant looking for the hidden location it's in that the ordinary joe might overlook. I would give this place five stars not just because of what the aforementioned stated, but mainly the food. To sum up the food, it is absolutely splendid, the colors, presentation, texture, and taste are worked out to the max. My favorite menu item is the vegetable majestic, an indo Chinese dish that includes vegetable balls placed in a creamy delicious sauce. Overall, please go there. I know this restaurant! I have been coming to it for years! Absolutely love it!!!! Love their food. Anything, but for me all the Tikka marsalas ard kormas are my favorites. Matar paneer, saag paneer, sooo good. Buffet at mid-day and if anything is a special day in my life I forego the Mexican style places, don't go to the slick bistro style places, I go to Amber Indian in Carmel!!! The food is still good but they need to make major improvements to the dining area. Went there in the summer and they had no air conditioning, just a huge fan blowing hot air and dust. It must have been at least 90 degrees inside. Unable to enjoy our meal. Had dinner there last night (1/20/24) and it had to 60 degrees inside, no heat and we could not take our coats off. After a few bites we had to get our meal to go and finish at home. The dining area needs a major update with new flooring, paint etc. The window blinds are covered in dust. I will not be going back.
